Once inside, Encara's detect magic spell catches a glow from near the couch.
As soon as the door is forced open, something starts picking up the news papers one by one and carrying them into another section of the house.
Jedah Dohma

Jedah gives a start as the Newspapers begin to float from the pile, his mouth agape at the magical spectacle. Smiling at Dru, the curious performer decides to follow the floating newspapers to see where exactly they are going too.
"Maybe this will give us a clue?" he says with a shrug

The newspapers float from the doorway into the Meeting Room (Rm D2).
A Gnome passes from the room to your left (Rm D3) into the room to the lower right hand side of the building; passing through the door rather than opening it.
If you attempt to engage him, he will smile, tip his hat to you and continue reading his newspaper.

Have you seen this?
Dru reads the letter and passes it to her companions
Seems it's all smoke and mirrors here. Except if might not be. Don't let our guard down. We should see that big wall o'names next, it seems.
Encara Ordan

Encara looks over the notes and ponders.
"Yes, I think you're right. I've had enough gnomeaganians for today, lets hope the wall is a saner lead."
Jedah Dohma

Strolling through the house, and keeping their back to the wall away from the cursed sofa, Jedah follows the newspaper into the grand room. Tipping his head to the Gnomish occupant he is about to talk when Dru picks up a note. His interests diverted for now, the performer peers over the Spear-Maiden's shoulder to read it over themselves.
"Ha! At least he is prepared for some investigation, though he may have been hoping for an intact window..." he laughs as he reads the greeting. "Now, the Wall of names then? Sounds fine to me!"
| GM RePete |
==Assuming no one objects to heading to the Wall of Names==
Sticking close to the walls as you make your way out of Fimbrik's abode, no one trips any of the wards still set. The images of the gnome continue to flicker and wander about, often displaying multiple Fimbrik's at a time.
Making your way across the city, you find the Wall of Names with some ease standing on the grounds of the Grand Lodge. As you approach, a man spies your group and gives a toothy grin.
Venture Captain Dreng approaches you, "Ah, you found me. Sorry for not staying at my street corner, but the rain and cold finally won out. Figured I'd pay my respects to the fallen before heading back home for the night. Did you all locate my package?"
Jedah Dohma
|
Careful not to be seen leaving the Gnome's now vandalised abode, and making sure to pocket the potions on the way out Jedah sighs as the rain still pours. Raising his parasol turned umbrella, the performer follows the others to the Wall of names. "So my friends, what made you turn to the life of finding paths?"
Startled by the appearance of Dreng he looks confused and then shrugs. "Oh yeah we forgot the wine! Turned out to be a fake door though..."
Blooming Flower

Lost in thought; Roy follows the others like an autonomous shadow, giving a start at Jedah's question
"I suppose I just wanted to learn more about the world sir Jedah"
At the wall Roy hands the chest containing the documents the group found to Dreng
"I believe this is your package good sir"
Let me know if that's not alright, I think I forgot to say that I wanted to pick up the chest when we left
Encara Ordan
|
Back out in the damp Encara goes back to looking dour and unhappy and just stares at Drenge for the moment.
| GM RePete |
A mildly amused expression crosses the man's face at Jedah's comment. Taking the documents offered, her remarks "Oh, really". Dreng continues after a brief skimming of the materials, "Excellent. Seems someone has violated one of the societies deepest tenants and you have found yourselves a quest in the process. I'll leave you to it and request you report your findings."
Handing the documents back, he nods to each of you in turn as he departs.
==Inspecting the Wall of Names==
As you look over the wall, the majority of the names seem to be etched by a pristine craftsman, while three are quite crudely scrawled into the stone. Doulgonlir Caskmail, Hollis “Evil Grin” Thorne, and Karina Clamp are obviously not like the rest of those depicted.
The three names and inscriptions are up on the combat maps link
The inscriptions below the names refer to failed aspirants of the Test of the Starstone.

Jedah reads over the names, shooting daggers at the old coot venture captain as he leaves then in the miserable downpour. Seeing the names standing out he shrugs and bites back a sneeze.
"No idea! Though they do stand out..." he begins thoughtfully before snapping his fingers. "However, this Karina Clamp is mentioned on the Gnome's letter! I know whatcha mean Dru, puts it ino perspective a tad eh?"

Yeah, it's sad and sobbering. Something a Caileanite hates.
Drusilla touches a few names, here and there, giving a gentle caress to the souls of the departed.

The last clue remaining from your visit to the Wounded Wisp speaks of something buried with Arkoth. Feel free to finish up here, but I'll assume you head for the burial site.
As you turn away from the wall of names and head towards the burial site in East Gate district, the discussions of your findings continue. The plot of land containing Arkath’s tomb is encompassed by a wrought iron fence, with open gates.
Eight large mausoleum's can be see from your location outside the gates with numerous smaller sites spattered about. An armored man, missing a few fingers, patrols the premises. The man proudly wears a red pentagram on his breastplate and carries a mace. Currently, he doesn't seem to have noticed your group.

Jedah gives a low whistle, appreciative of the usually quiet Roy's knowledge in the matter. "Well I'll be, Starstone Applicants, and we have Karina Clamp as a clue. One more lead my friends?" Stepping away from the wall of names, the Fire Performer wanders with the others to their last clue, a master-builder's tomb.
Pointing out the obvious armoured man, Jedah nods. "So what's the plan, gang?"

Waving to the patrolling priest, Jedah calls through the rain.
"Howdy! Terrible weather we're having!"

Yes Drusilla. It's the symbol of Asmodeus.
Stopping at the sound of Jedah's voice, the man turns to you. "Aye, could do w'out the rain. Yall needen assistification?" he asks with a broad smile showing more than a few gaps. "Who be you respectifying tonight?"
As he talks, he casually moves closer to you, keeping his mace handy. The man appears to be used to fights but seems to be waiting on you to set the mood.

Situation is always tense between an Asmodean and a Caydenite.
This time doesn't make exception.
Keep your big mouth shut, girl...even if you would like nothing more than to slap the taste for slavery out of the devil-worshipper...
Jedah Dohma

Jedah gives the man a smile, glad they are on to a good start. Surprised by Dru's uncharacteristic silence he shrugs.
"Assistification would be grand!" he replies, not 100% sure what the word means but hoping it is a good one. "There's a possible ancestor in this here place, Arkath a master builder once upon a time. Come to respectify him if you know where he lies?"
| GM RePete |
"I don't know him well e'nough to know he lies." replies the man with a wink. "Though he be entombed this way."
The man leads you through the maze of burial sites to a large stone mausoleum. There is a single solid stone door resting in the side of the structure with the name Arkath chiseled into it. The door is closed.
"The ancestral dude is here." he offers. "Now we must behave appropriately."
Stepping aside he crosses his arms as he observes you, making no attempt to hide his gaze.

"Thankye my good man, appropriate is my middle name, I assure ya!" Jedah says with a smile, peering over Encara's shoulder into the Mausoleum for a look at what lies ahead.

Yes, we may pay our respects outside. But we want to pay them inside. I can understand you have orders, and that you feel you have to obey them. There is probably a price to pay, as an insurance we will behave respectfully if you allow us to get inside the cemetery. We are not here to cause trouble. We just ask for some private time to honor the deceased.
Please say "no" so I can punch your ugly face, and ram your symbol of hellish allegiance down your throat .. or an even better fitting place.

And only doing his job as caretaker which we shouldn't begrudge him about. I bet ya get plenty of graverobbers here 'respectifyin' and he looked handy." Jedah says conversationally as they search the room, eventually finding a small coin. "We wouldn't want to start an issue with the Asmodean church over him doing hos job, or the city watch now would we?."
Waiting patiently for the magically gifted members of their band to examine the thing he shrugs. "No idea i'm afraid. Maybe my friend from the bar might know? He was a shop keeper and powerful society member after all."

"Well, hopefully this will be a fruitful visit." he says to his friends as he holds the door for them to enter, before steppig inside.

Glancing up from his scales as Jedah enters the room, Aram smiles. "By the grace of Sarenrae, I knew there was a reason I hadn't locked up yet. Pleasure to see you again so soon, sir. Have you need of assistance?"
After showing the coin to him
The inquisitor studies the relic a moment. "Hmm...Haven't seen one of these in ages. What you've got here, if I'm not mistaken is called a 'Pathfinder's Coin'. They are typically used to pass messages along covertly. One needs a wayfinder to activate it, and once the message is triggered the coin is expended until another message is stored."
Looking over the group, he inquires "Have any of you a wayfinder? I realize you are fairly new recruits but one never knows. If need be, I can assist you in retrieving the message as well."
He does have a wayfinder you can use to activate it
An eerie silence fills the room as the message completes.
