Greetings, all!
Go ahead and roll stats here. 2d10 + 20 for each characteristic. You may choose one characteristic to reroll, but you must take the second result.
After that, roll 1d10 for fate points.
.
1-7: 1 fate point
8-9: 2 fate points
10: 3 fate points
Regiment details are here.

I forget how many characteristics there are so I'm going to roll 9. Just cut the rest off at the end.

Re-roll PER: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (10, 9) + 20 = 39

I'll take it!

Whoops. Sorry.
You were exactly right. There are 9 characteristics, and you even rolled them in the correct order.
For anyone who doesn't know the abbreviations, they are as follows:
Weapon Skill (WS),
Ballistics Skill (BS),
Strength (S),
Toughness (T),
Agility (Ag),
Intelligence (Int),
Perception (Per),
Willpower (WP), and
Fellowship (Fel).

Cool. Looks like Psyker / Tech-priest material to me. Or just a really ballsy trooper. Very average rolls all about.

Now, what should I be? This looks like Operator material from a cursory inspection. Maybe medic.

Since I cannot decide on class (and it is likely to be less than relevant as this game is all about "how fast does your character die?") I will roll 1d6 to determine my specialization, since there are only 6 options we were given to choose from (Weapon specialist, Heavy Gunner, Medic, Operator, Sargent, and Stormtrooper)
Consider the results to follow this chart, crafted before rolling (entries listed in order of appearance in core rulebook):
1 = Heavy Gunner.
2 = Medic
3 = Operator
4 = Sargent
5 = Weapon Specialist
6 = Storm Trooper
Class: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Alright, Storm Trooper it is. Solid choice. Never played one before though. Fits with low agility (sorta) gets toughness to compensate, not to mention Storm Trooper armor.
Going to work on a better name for this alias...

Well, having dice is not necessary to play this, as this website has a digital dice roller built into it. I'll try to demonstrate.
Name: 1d100 ⇒ 14
[ dice = Name ] 1d100 [ / dice ]
Now, the only thing that is different about the above two lines is that there are spaces in the second. If you remove those spaces, the dice roller will work normally. For instance:
They See Me Rollin: 1d100 ⇒ 82
It's simple form of HTML coding (At least, I think that it's HTML. Voice can confirm.). For instance, right below the text box that you would use to reply to this message there is a button that says "How to Format Your Text: Show." If you click that button, it will show you all the handy text options.

I generally hear it referred to as BBC coding, its definitely not HTML.
In any case, your brother should be able to give you all the information you need in terms of posting on here. No need to apologize, you just need to get a few of the foundations in place and things will run smoothly.

you have to direct your comrade. Shout at them to get them to do something. They are considered to be unintelligent and will only take default actions if you do nothing (ie: stand there and be useless; story-wise they may fire blindly to no effect, cower behind cover, or just about anything that has no effect on gameplay.)
Ps: man that building is further than i thought. i may have to head indoors and avoid fire. I'm no good otu in the open, and I'm not going anywhere with that stubber tearing up the street.
