"That explains it! You've been trained as a ninja. I thought you sounded very disciplined. For a while there I was thinking you might have been a monk. You'll have to tell me about your home land some time. It will have to be later seeing as how we're here at class now." Hew looks around the room at the many faces around him. "I would ask you about your home land if I didn't know you don't have any memories past meeting me." He tries to disguise himself speaking to no one but it was to no avail.
"I will tell you another time then." Midori says simply as she glances around the classroom. She spots Grim talking with another boy, and does not want to be rude and interrupt and so simply looks for two seats next to each other. Ah. "Ah, Hew-kun, over there." she motions to a pair of desks which were unoccupied in front of a girl with long blonde hair. (Ignace) she stops in front of the desks and decides to introduce herself to the blonde haired girl. "Ohaiyou gozaimasu. I am Midori Tsuyomi, and this is Hew. May we sit here?" she bows as she introduces herself and Hew, her melodious voice carries slightly in the classroom.
If anyone would once again like me to describe Midori, please ask and I will do so. ;)

the oddest sight to anyone in that room enters now, a blue scaled humanoid half slithers half crawls into the room, his frail upper body looking out of place against the backdrop of his powerful tail.
Anyone capable of detecting magic notes strong whites in the normal flows of color denoting the schools of magic.

"hello, has anyone seen sheess? He is a blue snake...."

Okay, didn't want Ormarr to seem like he was ignoring Sorun.
@Shess
The wall in the back of the room shimmers and becomes a wall of water, showing a large room apparently filled with water but with no way to keep the water from leaving once the stone wall is gone. But it doesn't.
The water room is filled tropical fish, coral, and one five-headed serpent that must be the sea hydra Ormarr mentioned, sleeping on a bed of brain coral.
"She doesn't have a lot of people to talk to this far inland."
Sheess
the tiny snake flicks its tongue in and out at the scaled teacher "Thankssss for the company, sssssir...."
Sheess wastes no time in slithering into the balmy waters, slithering over the brain coral slowly approaching the monster
She would have alot more people to talk to if you released her into the lake! "Sorun, Here have a roomy!" LOLZ
Sheess
make it half and half.... :) and yay for talking to myself
Sheess swims up to the hydra, which almost immediatly notices him
a dozen and a half heads lift from the coral "You are new...." it speaks
"The orc-snake said I could visit you. I am Sheess, Guardian of Sheldlonsorunsun Suressuseschi, Prince of the Norther Seas, Gaurdian of the Ice, Wielder of the Ancient Magics, Strongtailed one and Scion of the Elemental Plane of Water, The Future Gaurdian of the Glaciers, Defender of the Merfolk, and Son of the King of the Northern Waters..."
The Sea-Hydra's heads all rise and look at the blue wisp of a creature... "Bold claim, but if you are not lying... you honor me with your prescence..."
"I would never lie to such a beautiful creature..." the sapphire serpent winks...
"you charmer" Can hydra blush? LOL the hydra says taken aback slightly
Sheess swims closer to the large green creature...
ect... ect.... bored now....
Sheess spends the next few hours laying happily on top of the sea hydras central head....

Vare, the Summoner
Vare's classes (most students with Conjuration on their list)
Vare is a somewhat absent-minded teacher, occasionally seeming to drift off or become distracted by the air. However, during his lucid periods, he is an excellent professor. Extremely knowledgable about all aspects of Conjuration - not simply the summoning of creatures, but also the other aspects of the school: teleportation and creation. Though he refuses to teach the students about the calling or binding of planar creatures, especially on the first day (the Headmaster had requested he wait until Vare was sure the students could handle it. Something about an invasion of demons). He also says that he will not be teaching the Healing aspect of the conjuration school, as that is covered in another class.
During his demonstrations of summoning, the students might note that all of Vare's summoned creatures are... odd to say the least. A summoned eagle appears as an already roasted bird, smells and all, but moves and makes noise and can fly, just as a normal bird. It is a very strange sight. Vare does not seem to notice.
If any students at all wish to interact during conjuration, they may. Just putting this up there so people have an idea what Vare is like to teach. If you have conjuration after lunch, save it for after lunch please. ;)

Avery's face goes pale at the sound of Vai's voice... as if he had heard a ghost... he hadn't dared to hope...
Alright, leaving us there. I don't wanna fastforward too much and leave Fei blinking ;)
Tiny little addition...
The blonde-haired man steps forward, seeming to suddenly ignore Fei, looking where the voice had come from. He mouths the word 'Vai', tears forming in his eyes.
Anahita bint Tariq
...After several more moments, Ardiente swoops and twists towards Anahita, not wanting to get too close... still fearing to burn her despite her apparent resilience, and then rockets straight up with his wings closed, the fire both seeming to push him while simultaneously catching up with him. Perfectly timed, once again at the height of his climb, just as he's stalling, the fire snake catches up to him, and he spreads his wings wide, the fire following his actions. The fire spreads into the shape of a huge bird of fire in the exact pose that Ardiente has taken. It has the effect of looking as though Ardiente himself was living flame for just a moment, burning bright and proud, and his cry - very similar to a eagle's call - pierces the noise of the flame. And then it vanishes all at once, true to the nature of fire, leaving Ardiente floating softly back to the ground.
Anahita hears his voice briefly in her mind, as he lands, bowing in a very human way considering his avian form. ::Ta-da!::
Watching the display with a bit of enjoyment, Anahita doesn't really move much while he does his fire effects along with aerobatics, apparently not easily fearful or just stupid, doing the equivalent of clapping or whatever's appropriate for her culture.
Speaking though, in response, "Magnificent. So you .. generate flames, regardless of your forms. Astounding. I can only assume that you must be a very proud species to have such mastery of a core element as you do."
She walks over closer to where Ardiente is now, as a bird, and squats down to be close to him, reaches out, if allowed, to pet and scratch at the spots that avian's would appreciate while feeling his feathers and the like.
"Your plumage is quite lovely, Ardiente. I really would like to learn more about your history- do you know if that is covered in the basic history class, or are there books?" She smiles at that point, hands wrapped around her bent knees, while trying to keep eye level.
Again, when he's in animal form, he might notice that she's subconsciously very 'in tune' with mannerisms on her part that create a better rapport, but it's certainly not any sort of manipulative mind control or the like, merely an unspoken physical empathy with animals.
At this point, it's getting _very_ close to first class period, so.. if he's mindful of the hour, which she's not really apparently seeming to notice, he might. She has no 'watch'. Not sure if there are clocks hanging around or what not either.
Tee hee. Had to put that in there.
Ardiente, of the Fuerte
Sadly, there is a bell which indicates first period... it doesn't have to ring quite yet though ;)
Ardiente doesn't shift back to human form quite yet, hopping and fluttering along the ground to meet her half-way. His eyes are very similar in this form, though with a larger pupil, which seems to take in more.
::Overly proud at times, I think. Pride may yet be the death of us. But thank you.:: his telepathic voice is a little dark, as if he himself was trying (and failing) not to be overly proud at Anahita's praise.
Ardiente does indeed allow Anahita to scratch and pet him, cooing or trilling softly when she hits a particularily sensitive spot, turning his head and wings to guide or to the right spots. She will note that he is hot to the touch. Not to the level of burning, even to one who wasn't as resistant as she, but his body temperature is far above that of a human. It would be uncomfortable, but like a bath drawn too hot, the discomfort would slowly fade into pleasant warmth.
::I am afraid history is not my strong suit. I am sure there would be books, and you could speak with Professor del Sol. I am sure he is well-versed in our history, being of noble birth as he is. I can tell you that we used to be the keepers of the Sun, before the changing of the sky.:: a note of the ever-dangerous pride creeps into his voice when he speaks of the Firebird's previous role as the tenders of the Sun.
He hops slightly closer to Anahita, feeling safe and warm in her presence. ::Your... you are also very beautiful. I would like to learn where you are from as well. You ingtrigue me!::

Hew looks at the blonde shyly and bows slightly when he's introduced. "H-Hi." Quickly he averts his eyes. "Ssush. I'm in class now so there's a lot of people around. Do you want everyone to think I'm crazy?" He whispers while trying to muffle the sound.
Hew has a double take at the merman as he slithers into the room.

Death to bells!
At this point, pretty much no longer giving much concern to her surroundings and what have you, Anahita is enjoying the interaction with Ardiente greatly. That much can be said, but it's certainly not in any sort of sexual way, that too can be said.
"I am from a world called Golarion, born of the Padishah Empire of Kelesh. It is an empire of many terrains, noble women and adoring men, riders of majestic steeds and conquerors of many lands. In the end, however, I believe the strength is primarily in our Empire's relations with the various Genies." She gives a slight shrug, perhaps not too sure of it herself.
"They are magical creatures that bestow the power of wishes and hail from the elements. Perhaps you are similar, for you certainly appear to not be as any species of avian I'm aware of from that world and your fire is as pure as any I have been attuned too."
"The Keepers of the Sun, you say? What an impressive title for a species. Professor del Sol, I will attempt to speak with him at one point. There is no harm in having some pride, as long as the hubris does not cause issues. A hint of pride is welcome in the culture I was born into, Kelesh. I am from," she's just sitting down now, watching Ardiente doing whatever he does as a bird form, "what apparently is another world, spinning around another sun, as it was explained to me."
With a glance up and around, she turns her attention back to Ardiente again and says, "So, what brings you to this school then, Ardiente? Surely it is not to learn more of this skill in fire.. bending, you call it?" She gets a thoughtful look on her face after saying the bending part.
"There was someone, one of the younger students here-- he professed to being destined to be master of all the elements. Is that something people seek here in this ..plan- er.. world? Do you have deities here?"

Ardiente is also greatly enjoying the interaction - not as distracted as Anahita, but still very engrossed in her. As perceptive and empathic as she is, Anahita may note Ardiente's mood as well - she can tell he feels some attraction to her, in a typical teenaged manner, but perhaps some confusion on that front, as if it were strange for him to be so drawn to her.
Ardiente's natural instincts at the moment - in bird form - are to preen feathers with his beak, and otherwise make himself as presentable as possible. He only does this once in a while, during a break in the conversation, but this is part of how Anahita might guess he feels some attraction to her. He also occasionally opens his wings to feel the breeze through his feather or maintain his balance.
::I know something about Efreeti, we sometimes have dealings with them, or they are bound for specific purposes.:: he replies and seems to tense up slightly as she speaks about the 'purity' of his flame, though he does not mention it any further. He also seems to sidestep the idea of another world spinning around another sun, though he listens carefully. Perhaps the idea is a little disturbing to him, though he remembers Professor del Sol mentioning something about 'non-Agarthans' and relaxes every so slightly.
::Hubris is causing our species to slowly dwindle away to nothing... it is part of the reason I am here at the school, away from the Sun. Our society is crumbling... many fear that full scale civil war will soon be upon us. It is no longer safe for young Firebirds at home, and so there are many of us at the school. Comparitively many anyway, we are not as populous as we once were.:: he thinks for a moment, and then returns the question back to her. ::Why are you here Anahita? Is it not possible for you to return to your own world? Or do you enjoy it here?::
He listens carefully to Anahita speak about the young boy... it couldn't be anyone other than the same young boy he had met the morning before. The Avatar. ::The Avatar.:: he says simply, obviously knowing of whom she was speaking. ::There are many legends and rumours surrounding the benders... of which I am one. Firebenders, earth, air, and water. It is said that The Avatar can manipulate all four, as I do with fire...:: he pauses, apparently troubled with something, or unsure if he wanted to continue. ::Bending is something you are born with... all the legends say that bending more than one element at a time is impossible for all but the Avatar.:: there is very clearly something Ardiente is not saying to Anahita.

Vai's emotions were running the whole gamut - fear, joy, sadness, hate, anger. It all coursed through her as her father... her birth father stepped into the room, holding a torch despite the artificial lighting that was still active. "Doesn't look like there's anything here... are you sure Jacob isn't just imagining things again? It's been five months since the offering wasn't taken. This place is abandoned."
Avery Emkar was about to turn away to leave when...
The Champion of Courage appears in the room, right beside Vai's hiding place. Plain to see. Fei can see a human man carrying a torch, his short blonde hair and blonde beard are well-kept. He looks vaguely familiar. "You there! Young lad!" Avery has spotted Fei.
"Fei!" Vai sounds just as surprised as the man across the room, shocked that he was able to find her with Nimceleb with her, forgetting momentarily that she was supposed to be hiding.
Avery's face goes pale at the sound of Vai's voice... as if he had heard a ghost... he hadn't dared to hope...
The blonde-haired man steps forward, seeming to suddenly ignore Fei, looking where the voice had come from. He mouths the word 'Vai', tears forming in his eyes.
Fei immediately regrets not bringing Ephebe with him. As there is nothing to be done about that now, he quickly slides into a sideways stance, his left side closest to Vai. As he does so, he wills a rapid change in his nanosuit, shifting it in the flickering light to his Lathanderan gi...and thus removing the Avalon insignia from potential view. He hopes that Vai takes the hint as she sees this so she will do something to obscure the same insignia on her uniform jacket (assuming she has it on).

Vai is not wearing her jacket - she usually doesn't, it feels too heavy for her, thus there is no chance of Avalon's identity leaking out in this exchange.
She extricates herself from her hiding place, wanting to run away again, run away from all the emotion that was bubbling to the surface... but she couldn't leave Fei here. She wouldn't run out on him...
So instead she snarls at the man across the room, vicious and uncontained. "What do you want, Avery?" she uses her birth father's name... he wasn't her dad anymore.
Fei can almost feel the anger and hate bleeding off her. All the sorrow, the fear, the hate; all the emotion from her nearly two year imprisonment is returning to her in a flash.
GM Fireclaw
The man - who had looked briefly so hopeful and joyful - appears as though Vai's words had physically slapped him. He almost stumbles. Despite that, he steps towards the pair. "Vai... I had hoped... I didn't dare... I can't believe you're alive! It's a miracle!" As he closes the distance slightly, Fei may begin to see the family resemblance between himself and... what appears to be his daughter.
Vai Sunwake
Vai growls, her body language curled, like a cornered cat. Fei can see tears beginning to glint in both her and Avery's eyes. "It's NOT A MIRACLE!!" Vai shrieks at him. "I SURVIVED! ALL THE RAPES, THE TORTURE, THE EXPERIMENTS! YOU GAVE ME TO HIM! YOU TIED ME TO THE ROCK! BUT I WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO SURVIVE! DON'T COME ANY CLOSER, OR I'LL...!" Fei can see the claws slide out of Vai's hands, her mouth fill with fangs... she may do something she'll regret if he doesn't stop her.
Fei, of the Sun Soul
The young monk fluidly slides back into a forward-facing stance, his arms slowly opened wide to indicate he is unarmed...but to also bar any closer access to Vai. Glad for the fact that this man speaks some form of Common he can understand, he replies in a very even tone "I do not think you should approach any closer, sir. She is not...pleased to see you, even if you appear to be of her family."
Fei looks and listens for any others who are with this 'Avery' (as he thought he heard a bit of conversation before he was noticed).

"Vai - please stop. That hate will serve no good here. Do not give in to it..."
[Readies action, augmented by circular thought as needed.]
GM Fireclaw
Fei can hear the clattering of weaponry from the doorway near where Avery... but it's the sound of metal on stone, as if the weapons were being dropped, the wielders spooked and perhaps fleeing. If Fei's guess is right... this must be the lab in which Vai was held near her home village - a former Dragon lair.
Tears begin to flow freely from Avery's eyes. "Vai... please understand. I did what I had to do for the safety of the townsfolk. Please... I never wanted this..."
Vai Sunwake
Fei's words - for the first time he can remember - don't seem to have any effect on her, too lost to her emotions as she is. "YOU NEVER FOUGHT FOR ME! YOU DIDN'T EVEN TRY!" she shouts between her fangs, and she leaps for him, wings growing out from her body, swooping by Fei...
... and provoking his readied action or an AoO, whichever works for you ;)
Fei, of the Sun Soul
Wishing fervently that he did not have to resort to this, the young monk reaches out in a blur of motion, attempting to grab Vai and prevent her from killing her birth father.

She says 'destiny' as if it were acidic, something unclean, while the third line with annoyance following the second.
"Why would anyone accept their future if they themselves do not carve it out by their own hand? That's not any way to live their life. Mere pawns in some greater being's actions, that's slavery. Bah. I'm fairly sure he took offense to me, when I spoke with some distaste to what he ..preached. Gah." She shrugs it off. "He's only a child too.. I mean, not much younger in all, but .. so young, seemingly confused. Perhaps we'll be friends, he did say he'd like that. This world is confusing.."
Looking off, she's not touching Ardiente now, apparently content to watch, she tracks something moving briefly before glancing back to say, "I'm here because I was ..deposited here. I do not feel it was a foul gesture, or I might study a way to return. I have no immediate ties to return too, nor family. One place with life is as good as another, plus .. I feel different, changed, most certainly." A subconscious rub of her upper arm at the mention.
"I will adapt, however- this does not happen over night. I will study and learn, then adapt with what is learned. Survival is all there is, unless I give in to the circle of life." That said, she's smiling again, just watching Ardiente.

::He is what he is, he cannot change that any more than you can stop being human, or I a Firebird. But he is free to make his own path, as are we. It is up to him to see that.:: he makes a very strange movement which might have been a shrug, though it is difficult to tell. Ardiente seems to consider her words carefully, his head moving this way an that in thought. ::What of duty, and honour? Are these also not chains which restrict... but also worthy?:: the question is not asked with any spite or smugness, simply seeking to learn more about the woman with whom he was speaking.
::I understand the need to adapt, it is difficult at times to comes to terms with... a sudden change. Perhaps we can assist each other? I'm no scholar, but I will aid you if I can.:: he cocks his head to the side, still feeling the warm comfort of being around her. ::You mentioned not having any ties to return to; were you not very lonely before being... deposited here, as you put it?::

If she could have scooted her desk any further into the far corner she would have. Instead she just nods and looks away, hoping that the girl would get the message that she didn't wish to interact. She felt nervous, her stomach turning, as she tried desperately to deal with her nerves. She tried to focus on breathing, but there were too many people around. She couldn't take it.
Ignace shifted into bird form and fluttered up to a perch in a corner near the ceiling, this being the farthest she could manage to be away from the others. She knew Mrs. Blackscales would make her come back down for lessons, but in the meantime she could at least have a little space.
