Ah, forgot about that. Then the first shark attack barely hit, and AC is now 25.

The Storyteller

The battle truly started now.
You can hear screams, the sound of clashing metal, painful death cries. The flog blocks your vision, but not the sounds.
The Pirates finally makes it’s decisive move boarding the ship.
A group of pirates using grappling hooks or jumping from one ship to another boards the Mam’s Promise. One of the defenders fell to a single and powerful sword blow from a half-orc.

Nthanda and some other sailors went to help the gnome climb aboard the ship again.
Victoria swims near the rope Nthanda is holding for her. That however gave the Sharkes the opportunity to attack again.
Atk AoO Shark1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Dmg: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Atk AoO Shark2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Dmg: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

The lucky gnome was able to evade both attacks, that however, was not enought to make the sharks give up.

Atk Shark1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Dmg: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Atk Shark2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Dmg: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Once again, they were unable to hit the gnome.

Map updated. Post your round 6 actions

Round6, do a Perception check:
The fog parts briefly and you see what appears to be high ranking enemy officers rushing madly for the doors to the captain’s cabin below the aft deck, slashing and hacking as they move.

Perception DC 10:

You notice a Rahadoumi sailor sneaking up behind one of the enemy officers! The enemy officer appears not to have seem it. What will you do?

Victoriana will try to climb up the rope as she is being hauled, to get to the top as soon as possible.

Climb: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (13) - 2 = 11

If she's still in the water at the start of this action, she'll take a total defense action as her standard action (AC up to 25). If not, she'll climb up the rope. She can climb a total of 20 feet, or 10 feet if she also wants to cast a spell, but her AC drops by 4 points while climbing because she is treated as flat-footed.

If Victoriana can make it to the top of the rope in 10 feet of climbing, she'll use her action to cast Cure Light Wounds on herself (and her AC is 21, because of Shield of Faith).

Healing (if able): 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Oh, forgot about perception

Perception (DC 10): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

Victoriana says nothing, hoping her comrade-in-arms will take the officer down.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Nthanda is far too occupied with hauling Victoriana out of the water to notice whatever there is to be noticed. Her teeth are gritted as she realizes the enemy has boarded, and that all around her her crew are being attacked and fighting for their lives. Her healing is needed, but she has a life literally dangling in her hands right now, and she can't trade one life for another.

Hand-over-hand, she hauls. As soon as she Victoriana's hand reaches the top of the rail (if Victoriana gets there on this turn), Nthanda feels her way along the rail towards the stern deck, hoping its height will put her out of the thick fog.

Moving to the B4 region if Victoriana gets up this turn; otherwise, continuing to assist her climb by hauling. I'm not moving my token since I don't know if I'll move this turn or not, but basically she would be at the top of the stairs/ladder up, trying to hold the defensive high ground of the stern of the ship.

Ah, gotcha. I'll let the aiding-sailors rolls that Vic rolled, stand.

Climb check to aid: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

The Storyteller

Someone yells a warning.” Cap'n, behind you!”. The high ranking officer, now identified as the captain, turns just in time to avoid the attack and kill the sailor sneaking up on him. He then looks in the warning direction seeing a dwarf and giving him a acknowledge nod, and proceed to the Man’s Promise captain quarters.
A Half-orc implacable and merciless, cut down another sailor, that was helping you haul Victoriana.
A humanoid K:Planes DC 15 reals it’s a Undine walks up to a Nthanda and tries to attack, while saying ”I don't want to kill you, but we are forced to fight on threat of death.” and his attack offered no real danger.
A red haired woman walks in the mist and attack one of the sailors. Hitting, but he is still on his foot.
Another pirate close in the same sailor and tries to finish it, but misses it’s attack.

Nthanda with the help of other sailors, haul Victoriana to the ship, while the sharks tries to be her again.
Atk Shark1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Dmg: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Vic is finally out of the dangeours waters. Out of the fire, into the frying pan. Pirates everywhere!

Battle? So this is it, then? And this time, she's armed and prepared.

She can just barely see through the fog that the pirates have lined themselves up all nice for her spells. Victoriana laughs, a loud, shrill, maniacal cackle, as she moves starboard, shouting loudly some of the Polyglot swear words Nthanda's taught her as she spins forth a cone of fire.

Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
(she's not making an intimidate check, I'm just curious how scary that laugh is)

Concentration (DC 17 to cast defensively): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

Burning Hands Damage: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7 (Reflex DC 15 for half, should hit all visible pirates)

(AC remains at 21)

Nthanda's eyes flash as enemies emerge from the fog all around them.

"I do not with to kill, either," she retorts shortly to the fish-like man, "but I will defend myself against the bloodthirsty ones among you!"

She wheels on the half-orc who was speaking of killing them all, and unleashes fire a scant second after Victoriana has done the same.

Cast defensively: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

But her own spell fizzles and fails before her. Nthanda looks down at her hands in dismay as they only smoke with futility. Grimly, she draws her mace.

The Storyteller

He merciless half-orc cut down another defender.
A dwarf closes in near Nthanda, as does the red haired woman.
The undine tries to attack again, with the flat of the blade but misses. The dwarf try a sword swing and misses too. The red haired woman however was able to pierce thought Nthanda defenses, hurting her.
Nathanda tries to cast her spell but fails; She then pick up her morning star.

Victoriana walking blindly in the mist almost bump in the half orc, she takes the oportunity to cast a spell on him.

All around you, the battle continues, you see briefly in the mist the sailors and the pirates fighting. Lot's of painful screaming's, and it's impossible to know who is winning.

Post your round eight actions!

The battle seems fiercer each seconds.
Suddenly a huge explosion sound can be heard and the merchant ship is rooked fiercely.

Victoriana will 5-foot-step back from whatever enemies end up next to her, then throw down another Burning Hands, since the last one seemed pretty effective.

Unless you want to enter tha captain's cabim, you can't take a 5ft back.

Ah, I see that now on the map. Then the 5-foot-step will be to get closer to Nthanda, and

Cast defensively (DC 17): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

The Storyteller

The pirates converge on the two of you.
The Undine and the Dwarf attack Nthanda without any real desire to hurt her.
The half orc however attacks with a merciless grim, but Victoriana defenses are fierce and strong.
The red haired woman however casts a spell Spellcraft DC 16 reveals a ILW, touching the gnome. Pain and felling of wrongness fills the small woman as the pirate says "Yer defiance is futile! Resist and ye die. Surrender and ye live!"
Vic, do for me a will DC 14 or you take 7 dmg.
Nathanda enters a defensive stance while Victoriana again produce flames from her hands, hurting pirates and sailors without distinction.

Spellcraft (DC 16): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Will (DC 14): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

"Ouch!"

However, Nthanda is now threatening the enemy cleric; I don't know if she cast defensively, or cast then moved to touch, but if she casts from where she is now she provokes an AoO from Nthanda's mace.

Victoriana will throw down another Burning Hands (her last one).

Concentration (DC 17): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

And the spell goes off, for

Damage: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7 (Reflex 15 half)

With enemies all around, Nthanda cries out in pain at the wound she has taken. She lashes out with another attempt to summon flame.

Cast defensively: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

The pain of her injuries again causes her attempt to draw upon magic to fizzle out ineffectively.

1 spell slot remaining

The Storyteller

All the pirates attack again, but none seems to be able to hit Nthanda or Victoriana.
The red haired woman however, you can see it’s a priestess of the goddess of the pirates, and with vengeance the attacks Nathanda saying ” Surrender, better than be dead!”
And her next attack as vicious and precise, piercing through the oracle defenses.

Nathanda, even then tries to cast her spell, only to have it failing.
Victoriana starts to cast her own spell, but suddenly from the mist a bolt of force hit’s her,
Con: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 x DC 10+3+1 the spell goes off, but her injuries pilles off making her lose consciousness.

The Storyteller

Post your round ten actions!
The situation seems dire! Suddenly the pirate offer doesn’t seem so bad at all.
However, from the mist other sailors appears, their intent on the escape boats, to flee this pirate attack!

Nthanda swears in her native Polyglot when the plucky gnome falls. Her own wounds sting and throb, and she knows she cannot take another blow like that. She drops her mace to the deck as a sign of surrender, restrained fury in the gesture, and drops to one knee next to Victoriana.

Oh why not, let's try casting defensively one more time to fail completely: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 ..Yep.

And now Besmara deserts her wholly, she thinks with dull misery. She cannot even heal her fallen crewmate. Nthanda stares with blank resentment at the pirates that ring her and the fallen gnome. Taken alive by pirates is a bad fate.

"She will be dying, if I am not healing her," she says flatly. "Strike if you are wishing, but I do as I must."

(Will cast stabilize on my next turn, although I know OOCly Victoriana is not actually dying. ;)
