Mithrilshield

All:

The reunion in the halls was a good one; Thane Mithrilbeard was glad to see the companions all return safely and to see the return of the Dagger. After the formal audience with the Thane the companions are escorted from the room back to the royal guest quarters. Chief Advisor Sargor approaches you all, “And so what would be your plans from here?” He moves to a near by table in the meeting room and begins filling mugs with ale. “Rogdar the Thane and I would ask one more thing of you if you have nothing pressing or planned to do?” He then turns to Alex and Kellen, “I presume you will be returning to Drokara?” Finally he turns to Assiel, “And what of you? Where will you go?”

Rogdar downs his mug in true dwarven fashion, stands up and pats the legendary hound, Trip, on the head, “Aye, then we best be on our way.” Trip sighs in wolf fashion and follows his master from the room.

“The pawn and rook have now entered the fray, and we are just now getting to the point of the true strategy of this game we will begin to unfold. You are right; I do plan to stop by Drokara first, but I plan to study what has happened thus far to better plan for our endeavors to come.” Alex takes a drink from his mug and sets it back on that table.

Assiel looks at the dwarven liquid in the mug, for fresh wine would be divine, he thinks to himself before replying; “I shall return to Celestial Stone and make preparations for the looming dangers ahead. We cannon rush into this, as it seems a good idea to allow our spymaster, Alex, the time needed to do his job.” Turning to Kellen, “I shall keep in touch should you need anything. I believe Alex wishes me to take his weapon to make improvements, when I am finished, would you mind picking it up and returning it to him? It would be but a blink of the eye for you.” Assiel finishes the comment with a chuckle to himself.

The large mage drinks of his mug, smiles and thought of his magical talents, “I certainly can. While most of my time will be spent in Drokara I can easily make a round-trip every day if needed. In fact, I most likely will. The library in Drokara doesn’t have the quality collection needed to do any worthwhile research.”

Sargor nods, “We have a caravan scheduled to depart for Drokara in the morrow if you wish to join it.” He raises a hand pausing any interruption, “I am aware you have other, quicker, means to get there but the offer is still there.” He looks to Assiel, “We can provide you with transport back to Celestial Stone if you so choose.” He then looks to Alex, “What exactly did you have in mind?”

Kellen nods at the acknowledgement of his ability to teleport directly to Drokara, “If I won’t be intruding I think I’ll take you up on the offer to travel with the caravan. I’ve no doubt that your warriors can most adequately defend themselves, however, it would be remiss of me as an ally not to assist in their defense should it be needed.” Kellen drinks from the mug again, “As an aside, are any plans being made to visit the secret stronghold? I would like to speak further with the…guardian…that resides there.”

Politely acknowledging Sargor’s offer Assiel turns to Kellen, “I appreciate, but it seems I have an obligation I must attend to in Drokara. Helena wishes me to extend an invitation to Kellen and his lady to join us for dinner one evening. I’m under strict instructions to do it in person, no magic.” Assiel shrugs at his own words.

“I think I will leave on foot and make my way directly into the land of our neighbor to the west and join the other side. I will not be taking most of my gear. I need to blend.” Alex swirls the liquid in his mug, “I may also get a fishing pole and do a little fishing along the way.” He pauses his mind lost in thought, “I think I will need some salted butter and a few lemons.”

Sargor turns to Alex a mildly look of confusion, “You wish to go into Umari? And how do you plan to get there from here? The mountains may be safe from Giants but there is still threats about.” Sargor finishes his mug and pours another, “You speak of the Dragon?” He asks Kellen, “Kalver is there last I knew. The caravan is not scheduled on a path to pass its home and as I understand it the halls there are beginning to flourish with life again.” He nods at Assiel, “So then two of you for the caravan then? The cargo is simple, weapons for Drokara and some brew.”

Alex turns to his companions, “Would one of you be willing to keep my gear for a while, I do not think I will need it for a while.”

“Certainly, you know where I’ll be.” Kellen smiles before continuing, “Or, if I’m out then Margaret will have it.”

Sargor nods, “Then I shall leave you to ready yourselves for the morrow. If you would be so kind as to gather in the main traders hall then.” He nods then takes his leave of the room.

Dawn, A Day to Travel

The great doors were open letting the morning light shine upon the central chamber in the traders hall. The caravan was assembled, three carts full of armor and weapons, and escort of twelve stout armored dwarves, four trained boars clearly armored, their tusks tipped with metal. Two other dwarves stood amongst this group and watched as the two humans, and angel approached. The dwarves looked almost identical, both in chain mail, axe on back, and two on their sides, the only difference was one was slightly taller than the other. “So ye be are additional cargo and escort?” He steps up and produces his hand, “Hager Hornswallow of Clan Mithrilshield. This is my caravan.”

The other dwarf steps forward pushing himself into the taller dwarf then looking at the trio, “Tager Hornswallow of Clan Mithrilshield. It ain’t yers if it ain’t got me boys securing it!”

The taller dwarf sighs, “We get yer point.” He turns back to the three, “Is it just you three then?”

As the three begin to look about for the dwarven companion a low horn signals in the hall, the security detail forms up in a straight line, Tager quickly rushing to their front standing at attention in front of them, and Hager moving beyond you. Shortly you see another contingent of dwarves, eight in all, six armored with axes and crossbows all dressed in platemail. Their breastplates bearing the mark of the clan. Another dwarf unhelmed and dressed similarly those his armor is more adorned with spikes, his red hair seems singed in multiple locations and just behind him…a dwarf that looks similar to Rogdar. His skin is lighter, no cleaner, his beard and hair neated braided and ending in mithril ties. He wears a fine light grey dress robe and as the light strikes it fine mithril weaving within shows the clan symbal marked across the breast, the sleeve cuffs, and lapels. At his side a large white wolf. The group comes up before Hager, who stands at attention, then the red haired dwarf speaks, “Ambassador Rogdar will be joining this caravan and his detail. We head to Drokara, are security is ours, and the caravans is yours.”

“Of course Master Gralkin,” Hager nods, turns to Rogdar and bows, “Is an honor to have you with us and through these mountains!” He then rushes over to his brother, “Ready the wagons we move now!”

The Ambassadors contingent forms up around him and follows the caravan out of the main hall out on to the mountain pass. The red bearded dwarf watches as the procession goes by the non-dwarves then approaches, “If ye need any words with the ambassador ye go through me. In these halls is one thing, but out in those passes there is protocol to be maintained.” He then turns to Alex, “And fer one how doesn’t want to be known, it is such, ye will not be in his presence.” Then he walks after the contingent.

The trip from the clan is a peacefull one; the caravan travels well with no problems and after a few short days arrives in Drokara through it’s eastern gate. The gate itself made of wood with a low base stones supporting the frame for the small catwalk and two guard towers on either side of the gate. The guards render a peacefull wave and smile to the dwarves. Hager has a few words with the sentries, pulls forth some documents, and entrance is granted. Once through the gates he turns to the companions, “Well that was as we expected.” He looks back to the mountains, “It seems a time of peace for our clan is finally taking place.”

Gralkin and his detail continue into the city along with their Ambassador going straight to the docks. They share no words nor offer any time to receive any…

The streets of Drokara were bustling with commerce, Kellen and Assiel made their way to Magarets Mercantile. An establishment their group helped to build, finance, and stock. Alex departed from them in his usual silence; his absence unknown until they turned to look for him.

Kellen and Assiel

Spoiler:

Kellen and Assiel stepped into the establishment, Margaret was busy at work customers finishing up some simple transactions when she looked up and saw them enter, “Kellen! Assiel!” Her voice full of foundness, “I wondered when I would see you again. Where is Alex?” Her eyes lingered on the door as if expecting him to come in behind them.

Alex

Spoiler:

He watched his companions enter the store then looked down the street, there is work to be done, he thought to himself as he mixed into the crowd disappearing in the mixture of people. He found a simple place to rest until night fall then as darkness came he went back out into the night; to the cities rooftops to get a better view of the city and it’s nightly activities. He stood on a warehouse hidden in the shadows watching the docks, his eyes lingering on an old dock looking for any oddities once seen before. ”You have returned then?” The voice was quiet accompanied by a slender form stepping from the shadows nearby. ”Moriann is tending to events in Furp.” The form stepped into the light revealing his half elven heritage, ”Do you have anything new to report?”

Ambassador Rogdar

Spoiler:

The docks were busy when his entourage arrived, a vessel sat waiting for their arrival, and Gralkin quickly made contact with the ships captain, a human, as the rest stepped onto the boat. After a few short words Gralkin brought the captain over to Rogdar, “Captain Hassen will be taking us to Rant.” The Captain bowed, “It is an honor to have you with us Ambassador. You’ll find my vessel handles the ocean currents well and maintains a stable ride even in rough seas. Your cabin is ready and I’m sure you’ll find every comfort you need there.”

Captain Hassen turned then shouted, ”Justin!” A man ran forward and stopped, “Aye Captain.”

“Ambassador Rogdar.” The Captain turned to face the dwarven ambassador, “This is my First Mate Justin Hacken. If you need anything please go through him.”

Justin bowed to Rogdar, “My pleasure to serve Ambassador, if you will follow me I’ll show you to your cabin.” The man waited till everyone was ready then led the group downstairs. Once inside the vessel it was obvious the ship was designed for transporting dignitaries, furnishing created a common room with several doors off to the sides and to the front of the vessel a door. “At the front Ambassador is your room, you’re escort will be in either room next to yours. We have no other passengers on this journey so there should be no one to interrupt you.” He moved to the forward door, removed a key from his pocket and unlocked the door, then handed the key to Gralkin, “Only the Captain has a copy of this key. Within you’ll find a bell, it is enchanted to gain my attention. Please do not hesitate to ring it if you need anything. If not I will arrange for the cook to meet with you in the hour to tend to your cooking desires and routines.”

He moved out of the door way, “If there is nothing you can think of this moment I shall get the Cook and take my leave.”

Male Human Oracle 12

Pausing for a moment to allow Kellen a proper greeting with lady Margaret, "Alex sends his regards. His duties have detained him and I fear he may be away for some time. Do not worry though, I will check on him and at the first sign of trouble...well let's just say Kellen here has more than a few tricks up his sleeves."

Male Half Elf (Fighter 2) (Rogue 7) (Shadow Dancer 3)

(OOC) I am sorry it has been a really long time. Moriann is Alex's teacher I take?

(IC) Speaking to the half elf, "It seems I need to find a new place to hide friend. I am not sure I like it when half the town knows of my nest here in the shadows. I take it Moriann told you of my traditinal lookout spots."

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

Yes, you are correct. The duo actually are the ones that first 'recruited' you. Meriann would be the one you last talked to here.

Alex:

"It's not a matter of finding a new spot." The Half-Elf moves over the edge peering down at the docks, "I heard of what was last seen here. Curious." He turns to face you, "Unless you encountered them in Rant?"

Male Dwarf Ranger/12

Rogdar and Trip enter the room. Trip lays down on a rug with a huff. "Aye boy I No like boats either. We will be back out in the wild soon." Rogdar walks out looking for Gralkin, If he is not found he will tell Justin to let Gralkin know I wish to speak to him.

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

Rogdar:

Gralkin is right there waiting for you. He actually remains by your side and if he leaves it he WILL notify you of his where-abouts. :D

Male Half Elf (Fighter 2) (Rogue 7) (Shadow Dancer 3)

DM:
O yes the same group went directly to Rant. They where on a quest to awaken an old god of the past. It seems the crazy ones of this world always want to destroy it. They want to think it is about power, while we all know they just like making me uncomfortable. If they would just stop attempting to destroy everything I could slow down and start a little garden. I found a new pepper a while back.

Alex hands than man a small dry pepper ball.

"Try it! It is one of the hottest ones I have ever found"

"Back to work than. I really need to dig a little deeper with this whole end of the world quest we are found in. There are many players that have not entered the game yet and I really need to know who and where they are before they enter the fight.

"Do we have any connection with a great friend to the west. I want to enter their lands just to make sure they are not planning a major invasion soon. All of this work outside our lands have caused me to forget my root. I need to make sure we are safe before going back out."

Male Dwarf Ranger/12

DM:

I did not know that.

I would have made sure that if I said that it would just be Gralkin trip and I in the room.

Now that it is the 3 of us.

Rogdar turns from Trip to Gralkin. "How long will we be at sea, and what is our official reason for this visit? or is it just the doors have opened again and we are sending out ambassadors"

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

Alex:

The Half-Elf takes the pepper ball, sniff's it from a distance, and jerks his head back. "I've never understood the fascination some have with such spicy things. Aside from their tactical vantage."

He moves across the roof peering back into the city, "The west is not an issue at this time. Now there are three of us for sure on the right path. You being the third." He turns for a moment to make eye contact with Alex then back to the city, "The council has been difficult in gathering. It would seem Umari is intent on causing an inner turmoil before an outward attack. Or perhaps the lich there is aware of our knowledge of him." He sighs, "If you wish to go to Umari it can be arranged. I would warn you though of the dangers. It is a place better to be in the shadows then amongst it's people. They, of late," He pauses looking back at Alex, "Set examples at random amonst the people of the streets."

Rogdar:

Gralkin moves across the 'common' room in the quarters, finds a jug of ale after sniffing several different containers; he grabs up two mugs and begins pouring. "Both actually. Rant seems to be in a quiet battle with the trolls and it seems they may have brokered a deal with the elves to their south." He hands a mug to Rogdar and motions for him to sit, "If they have enticed in the elves it would be nice to know what was used to get them to the table." He drinks from the mug then examines its contents, "Not home, but it'll do for sea passage." He looks back up at Rogdar, "O, yes. Well if the rumor of the elves isn't true then it would be good to know if the rumors of the Troll threat are accurate. As well as establishing friendly relationships with the Clan there. One for us, and two for our ancient allies should they need a place for refuge."

Male Human Oracle 12

DM and Kellen:
"I trust you have been doing well?"

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

Assiel and Kellen:

"Yes! Yes." Margaret comments as she comes over and hugs you both, "In fact oddly enough the few attempts at shoplifting have been caught by some young lads i've noticed have been hanging around the outside. I've taken to feeding them though in return." She moves to peer out a window into the streets, "I've tried to offer them jobs." She turns back to the both of you, "But they refuse."

Male Human Oracle 12

DM and Kellen:
Smiles to himself, "Yes, odd indeed."

DM and Assiel:
"My tutors at the academy always told us to avoid feeding strays. In this case, however, I think an exception should be made. Aside from silly shoplifters has everything else been going well?"

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

Kellen and Assiel:

Margaret smiles, and wraps her arms around Kellen again, "Everything has been fine! Business is good and none of the larger merchant, or even smaller, families have bothered me with my business. It would seem I got lucky when I met you." She ends the hug with a kiss then releases herself, "So how long do you all plan to be in Drokara?"

Male Human Oracle 12

DM and Kellen:
"I actually plan to leave tonight, but not before extending an invitation for you both to join Helena and myself for an evening in Celestial Stone. It should be quite a sight for you, Margaret. Should you both find this agreeable, I shall send Kellen the details."

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

Assiel and Kellen:

"Celestial Stone?" Margaret asks and peers at Kellen, "Or are there ladies you wish to keep secret from me there? More dreams you are granting?" She gives Kellen a gentle pinch on his rear, "I do have a surprise for you anyway and that could be just the place to give it to you." She looks at Assiel, "Don't worry it's something you and your lady friend can enjoy as well."

Male Half Elf (Fighter 2) (Rogue 7) (Shadow Dancer 3)

DM:
I have been out as you know is there a larger threat that needs to be dealt with? There is no need to go into Umari if there is no information to be had there, and I really do not like fighting dead stuff!

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

Alex:

"The choice is yours. Was there something in particular you were looking for or just for defense of the Kingdom?"

Male Half Elf (Fighter 2) (Rogue 7) (Shadow Dancer 3)

DM:
Well I kind of wanted to search for a circus, and I have never seen the same show wagon I have burned into my memory around here. I have also been think a lot more about Mr. Snelon. I would like to know what really happened to him.

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

Alex:

"If you wish to go, we...can help arrange passage for you." He moves over the roof top viewing down at the docks again, "In fact I've recently met some...one, who might be interested in headed that way as well. Though he does shun public travel."

Male Dwarf Ranger/12

DM:
Rogdar takes a pull from the mug, makes a strange face then downs it. "It is amazing what is called ale in some places, though I can not let it go to waste. I believe that I will be drinking from my own supply." He gets up and retrieves a jug from his belongings. Retrieves 2 fresh mugs and pours. He sits back down and takes a pull. A memory of the lass and his time with the True Clan puts a smile on his face. "This my friend is my mothers recipe. It packs a punch though I doubt you will have much trouble. Back to matters at hand which shall be first Politics or troll watchin,"

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

Rogdar:

Gralkin takes the offered mug and takes a drink, "Thanks, it has a nice flavor. Well the politics and trolls I think go hand in hand. I think it will be easier to get a feel for it when we arrive. We will be able to see what kind of a state they are in. When you were last there did they seem to be in a state of war?"

Male Half Elf (Fighter 2) (Rogue 7) (Shadow Dancer 3)

DM:

OOC: Alex will have all his gear.

"Yes I think I would like that. When does this person wish to leave."

Male Human Oracle 12

I'd write something, but I can't progress much at the moment.

Male Dwarf Ranger/12

DM:
OOC: Been a while so correct me if I am wrong

IC:"I don't remember it being a "State of War" but I seem to remember that the Trolls where something that where being talked about."

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

Totally feel what you are saying Assiel. :(

Alex:

The Half-Elf nods, "He can be ready this night if you are. He prefer's to travel under the cover of darkness, though I imagine you could persuade him to travel during the day."

Rogdar:

It was something that was silently discussed, I believe some of you 'heard' stuff in some of the inns, but nothing public.

"Perhaps then there is just concern and our distant cousins are not so different from us." Gralkin takes a drink, "Tis' always better to be prepared."

Male Half Elf (Fighter 2) (Rogue 7) (Shadow Dancer 3)

DM:
Traveling in the dark is also what I like.

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

Alex:

"Then let us be on the way." The Half Elf moves to a darker corner, "Velipheus by the way; I don't recall if we were ever properly introduced." He nods his head, "North of the city, just past the gate, i'll meet you there with your new companion." And with his last sentence he steps into the shadows and dissappears.

Not as skilled, yet, with the shadows Alex has no problem traversing the wall to the street in silence and makes his way to and through the north gate without being seen. The thought of actually travelling through the shadows as his new instructors did was curious to him; his mind full of questions.

Just past the gate Alex has no issues finding the three saddled horses and the two humanoid shapes apparently waiting for him. He sneaks his way closer until he can comfortably identify Velipheus before stepping out of the shadows of the night. Velipheus nods as Alex approaches from the dark, "I would like to introduce you to Brax." He then motions to the other figure who slowly removes his hood showing for the Hobgoblin he is. Brax sniffs the air and almost 'shivers', "I remember you." His voice soft and gravelly. "But your fear has lessoned."

If you look at the DM profile you are free to read the info that is contained there; I trust all of you to recognize/recall what is IC and what is OOC.

Male Human Oracle 12

Just realized there is an "OOC" format, doh.

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

lol

Male Half Elf (Fighter 2) (Rogue 7) (Shadow Dancer 3)

DM:
OOC: I assume Alex has never formally met Brax.

Alex goes about the process of making sure the horse is properly saddled to his expectations. “I have never understood the point of being a person of stealth only to ride on a clunky animal better equipped at pulling lumber. These crazy things also like to kick me”. As Alex works with the animal he is always sure to suppress his stealthful nature as to make sure he does not spoke the animal.

Making eye contact with Brax, “I am truly sorry my love for spice may cause you discomfort. Those with a good since of smell tend to dislike my eating habits, and either do animals“. Alex goes over his pockets in an effort to put anything of strong odder into this backup that seems to remove the strong spice odder. “There I think that will be better for all of us”.

After getting onto the horse Alex turns to Brax, “I do not recall ever formally meeting you. When did we pass ways?”

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

Alex:

Your party encountered Brax in the abandoned Giant village. Rogdar actually had more words with him than anyone else. You do understand that his 'smelling' of you has nothing to do with spices.

Velipheus quietly laughs to himself at the comment as he mounts his horse. "I will be going straight north to Furp. Trust no one in Umari and when you return you can leave a message with Margaret. Attach it to a fine silken cloak. I will be in need of a new cloak in a few weeks I think." He then spurs the horse and departs the group at a gallop.

"Spices are not but to hide the true taste of the dish." Brax grins showing all the points on his teeth, "This trip should be easy as long as you keep your fear in check Alex." The hobgoblin moves over, mounts his horse, then turns to Alex, "Do you wish to ride the coast there? I know of a few settlements along the way." He seems to absently sniff the air, a sly smile creeps across his face, "Yes I do remember a few of them."

Male Half Elf (Fighter 2) (Rogue 7) (Shadow Dancer 3)

DM:
OOC:The thing that hit the group with mass hold person. Alex was on the other side of the village at the time.

"I think the quickest route will be the best route. I do not foresee fear being an issue.

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

Alex:

The trip is fairly uneventful. Brax is limited in words; unless Alex pushes the issue. He is a typical Hobgoblin. Preferring to sleep during the day in the darkest of places; at night he seems almost more energetic and just more aware of the world around him. He twitches on occasion at night almost snarls, and quickly the nearby animal that was hiding flees from their presence. It seems most of the wildlife, rabbit, deer, prairie dogs and such seem to share a general fear of Brax. It’s more so as if he has an air about him that radiates predator.

The journey stays roughly near the coast line on its way north, but once into the large open plains and sparse trees their direction goes more northwest. The duo passes few settlements and many more small farmlands with a handful of close neighbors. Wishing to remain unseen the two stay shy of any interaction with the locals; it seems however if the thought to change that would please Brax if only at night.

After a long week of travel, many short cuts, the defense lines are reached. Patches of infantry, small garrison, and large platoons decorate much of the plains. In fact at night large camp fires signal the closeness of the camps. Many patrols, horseback and on foot, travel with torches and lanterns between the camps; a few miles east of these camps Brax stops the trip, looks to Alex and motions to the defense lines ahead of them, “It would be best to cross at night.” He gently pats the horse below him, “We can attempt with the animals. It would shorten our journey once through, or we can leave them. There was a farm house not too far behind us that I’m sure would gladly take the beasts in.” Brax grins looking back, “Besides I’m sure it would not be difficult to reacquire them on the return.”

Male DM/GM 20yrs + as DM and Player

For you all.

OOC:

“High Druid!”, The younger elf entered the clearing exhausted from his journey. He ran into the clearing not really knowing if the druid would be there or not, but in the end he knew if he called for him there he would hear. The clearing was lush with life, grass on the ground, trees, bushes, and wildlife down to the simple insects seem to exist in peace and harmony here. The glen itself to outsiders was calming to the most frustrated soul. It was said that the sense of peace was enough to cast out demons from discomfort. But Iverus wasn’t here for the pleasantness of it all. He was here at request from the King. The queen was ill and with that meant the Kingdom was in danger.

Iverus pauses in the clearing to see if his voice was heard and just when he had given up hope a nearby tree seemed to birth an elf dressed in simple robes. The robes initially appeared as part of the tree, as did the elf, until he was fully separated from the tree and a form of himself. His voice was calm and even; despite the urgency in Iverus’ “I’ve told you before to not address me as such.” A smile creased his face as he dropped his hood. He was short for an elf, only six foot, only about a hundred and twenty pounds, his hair was a earth brown and seemed to flow freely reaching to the ground. His eyes a purple, like amethyst, and his face seemed to show no age typical of his race.

“I…apologize..” Iverus put in between breaths, “But the King…the Queen.”

“I know.” The druid moved closer resting a hand on Iverus removing the exhaustion from his body, “She is ill.” His looked to the sky as if seeing beyond the canopy of trees. “She is plaqued by foresight to the point of injury.”

Iverus paused in shock, shook his head, “I’ve been sent too..”

“Get me.” The druid finished for him, “I’ve something else to tend to. Tell the King we are aware and things are in motion.” The druid then began moving to the south. He stopped and turned back. “Tell him to find aid in the dwarves. The trolls will become a problem as well as the border to the south and west.” The druids’ form shifted to that of a forest owl and was quickly gone into the woods.

Iverus paused with it all. His mind was stuck with the last tasking from the King, “Get me the Druids now! My wife will have peace!” He had never seen the King at such a temper and now honestly didn’t relish the thought of returning with this news…

Male Half Elf (Fighter 2) (Rogue 7) (Shadow Dancer 3)

DM:
Alex starts to speak while looking out over the fires burning in the distance, “I do not really intent to come back via land travel. My other comrades should stop by and pick me up when they have completed their tasks. I think it will be wise to cross the border in an unseen way. I really do not want to even leave tracks or a trace of use being here. ”

Alex gives the horse a soft pat on the shoulder, “I think these animals will find their way to a new home without our help.”

Alex gets down from the horse and starts taking all the equipment off of it, “No need to leave the gear. It should make the animals less suspicious if found.”

“I am not a fan of riding horse in the firsts place and even more so when in a hostile land.”

“You are entitled to do what best address your needs with your animal.

INFO:Alex is more than happy to travel is silence. When he is sleeping his shadow keep an eye on things. The shadow is hidden/invisible at all time.

Male Human Oracle 12

Interesting Ozzy, I've been itching to fight some trolls ever since we heard about the troubles they were causing.

Male Human Oracle 12

DM:
Ozzy, can you just write in story mode so I can proceed. As you are aware, I contact Alex every morning at dawn. Other than that, we'll do the double date thing to bring Margaret and Helena further into the story. I'll be crafting the majority of the time, or assisting Kellen in the library of Celestial Stone.

It's quiet as the grave around here, or at least one without undead.

Assiel:

Celestial Stone hadn’t changed. The city streets were full of life, clean, and shined brightly in the early afternoon’s sun. He had travelled to her home but she wasn’t there. The dwelling was clean. He could smell her. And it was with the flooding of memories that seemed so long ago he went out to seek her out in the temple grounds. The locals nodded to him as he passed; they acknowledged the great deed he and his companions had done. After all he had been formerly recognized by the King and Queen! The sky was clear and blue. To the east the mountains stood, majestic in their beauty, he almost forgot that they in turn helped to keep this area secure from the rest of the island.

A breeze passed by him, he could smell the ocean, and yet he felt a pull. No it was a tug on his being. Not in a harmful way; instead it felt like a calling. The feeling passed as did the breeze and he found himself at his destination. The Celenree temples where beautiful; they were crafted of white marble with markings in gold, silver, platinum and other rare gems. The sun upon them added to the light of the day. He couldn’t keep the smile from his face at the sight or the deep inhale of heavenly air causing his wings to expand revealing their beauty.

“Assiel!” Her voice brought him from this momentary reverie. She was dressed in simple white robes and her golden hair held back by a golden circlet. An emblem of a white staff hung on a silver chain from her neck; it was her holy symbol, the symbol of Shiran. He stood taking in her beauty then caught her as she flung herself in to his arms. “I had thought the worse, but knew you to be alive when the All Mother never revealed your heavenly resting place.”

DM:
"It is good to be back, to be with you once again." He pauses to remain in the moment a little longer. Once the rush of seeing each fades, Assiel tells her of Kellen and the others. "Oh, I delivered the invitation to Margaret and Kellen. I believe they will be joining us in a few days. Shall I secure her approval to enter the city, or did you already take care of that?"

Once things settle down and Assiel begins to enjoy life in Celestial Stone, he goes about making preparations for the dangers that await him and his companions. Most of his time is spent focusing on his key, an exquisite mithral short sword given to him by Sunar. He has unlocked many of its powers, and continues day after day to master it.

Thanks to a special ring, Assiel is gifted more time in a day than most others to spend with Helena, and to attend to other matters. One of them being after dawn, using a sending spell to check up on Alex.

On a day much like any other, Assiel realizes time is slipping away swiftly, and in order to finish his preparations, he may need to find another to assist him. He meets up with Helena to give her flowers to brighten her day. "These are for you, though their beauty pales next to yours. I had hoped to ask you for a favor as well. Do you know of a skilled artisan that would be willing to enchant my armor? I would prefer to do it myself, but I simply do not have the time."

Assiel:

The days go by peacefully here, the Celenree are pleasant to be around and never shy from a new conversation. It is one of the few places Assiel can feel at home where the people aren’t so thrown off by his angelic appearance. A sense of divine insight permeates this place, the stones, buildings, and people.

Helena smiles and smells in the fragrance of the flowers, “Gifts and you would ask something as well? So then is this what the dwarves call a trade?” She winks playfully at Assiel and pushes on before allowing him to continue, “When did you wish to have this meal? I have arranged for this…Mar-gar-et? A human in the city?” She ponders for a moment at the question then responds, “I know of several craftsman, is there a particular blessing you seek?”

Grinning at her jest, Assiel responds, "Perhaps the evening after next? I worry about Kellen. I've seen many men with powers such that he possesses lose themselves within it. I believe his Margaret can help keep him grounded and in touch with his humanity. Besides, wouldn't it be nice to meet someone new?"

"I also worry about Alex. I fear he is missing life focusing on the next mission, always the next mission, never stopping to enjoy that which he seeks to protect. Though I know not how to help him as of yet."

"As for a craftsman, I had been thinking of a particular divine blessing for my breastplate. In common tongue, I believe they call it 'determination'. I've found a few texts on it in the library here and thought it would prove invaluable. I am skilled at keeping others from the grave, but not myself. This particular enchantment should aid me in that endeavor. It could very well be a matter of life or death, and I prefer to take every precaution I am able. Of course, I can pay them for their time."

DM:
As to the weapon enchant, that will bring it to an equivalent of a +9. I came up with a theme for it, and it is actually pretty cool. It is in no way a powerful offensive weapon, but more of a utility weapon. I am not a melee killer, so I was not going to try to make the weapon for that. I think you'll like it. It may never even be used, it just depends on the scenario.

Assiel:

Do you want/plan to play out the dinner with Kellen?

Helena smiles, "Well if you found it in the books here i'm sure it can be taken care of. Allow me to ask around. Now I do suppose there is something more entertaining we can do at this time?" She winks as she begins to lead Assiel from the temple grounds.

I understand that most of what you are doing here is crafting, and commissioning the one to be made. So unless you planned on playing out the dinner then I will be fastforwarding. Also what is your armor currently?

Male Human Oracle 12

DM:
You should probably fast forward. The enchant is a flat gold amount, 30k.
