Round 4 concluded
Groggily, Hakon stumbles to his feet. Armorless, and battered, he looks nothing like a celestial champion. Still, righteous fury burns in his eyes as he extends outwards towards the earth. After a moment, a small figure of fire appears form the sky and attacks the nearest foe. It failed to connect with the more injured bone creature.

Bolkvar, seeing his flames help one comrade, pointed a finger at Hakon. ”An’ ye! Stay with us lad!” It was all he could do and he hoped it would be enough. He then hurried over to his Dwarven kinsman to give what aid he could.

The bone creatures pressed their attack, one tearing into Thurvek while the other left the bleeding Barra behind to move against Bolkvar. The goblin prayed once more and hurled more burning blood, which flew well clear of Bolkvar's head.

Still, he was standing, the trolls weren't, and hopefully that trend would continue.

Round 6
Ranek stepped after the goblin as it moved away, pressing his attack - and also hopefully providing enough cover for Marcus to be able to try and heal Barra. His blade and spell claimed the goblin's life, leaving everyone free to focus on the last skeletal creature. It swiftly fell under their combined assault.

With the threat ended, Bolkvar pointed his hand at Barra, causing white flames to cover his wounds, which slowed the bleeding. He focused the power, causing the flames to spread to himself and Thurvek as well.

Ending his rage, Thurvek stumbles through, pushing anyone out of his way, to make it to the fallen half-elf. The dwarven cleric forces himself to breathe as he rummages through his healer's kit to examine Barra.

The healing revives Barra and restores Hakon. Meanwhile, Ranek looks about the chamber. He regards the walls, each intricately carved with images of men and women mining and forging. In every panel, a dragon presided in benevolence, receiving homage and granting boons. One panel, and only the one, contains a second dragons. Beneath it, small words were etched into the stone:

"Worship and praise him, for he is a just and true God. Touch him only with thine thoughts, for he shall not be sullied by thy earthy hand. View him only with thine eyes, if he wish not to face judgment alone. His wrath is mighty, and while he descends from the mountaintop to praise, also does he punish the lazy and untrue." This is in Illuskan.

Across from the looming statue is a smooth portion of the wall, free from carvings. Below it lay many shards of glass.

The bowl atop the altar is huge, ten feet across and eight feet tall. Draconic scenes mark its rim, each done in painstaking detail. A blue-red, heatless flame danced within. A large quantity of detritus filled its basin, untroubled by the flame.

Loot:

a 4 foot long copper dragon sculpture (100gp)
250gp of rough turquoise
a silver longsword with a hilt shaped like a unicorn's horn
a buckler
4 potions (CLW)
14 stone necklaces about the right size for a halfling or goblin to wear (1gp each)
a whistle made of carved crystal
a broken wooden frame
22gp, 54sp, 14cp

The huge statue that dominated one side of the room was a work of fine art, its blue-green glaze chipped in a few places to show red stone beneath. Its eyes were huge sapphires that glinted with inner light.

Ari takes a few moments to gather her fallen durable arrows before taking in the surrounding architecture.

Perhaps this place is more than just a mine, she thinks to herself.

Walking back over to the group, she says, "It doesn't appear the children or the adventurers are here. Once you've all recovered, we should keep searching. There are other passageways we haven't tried yet."

"Hold on a minute. I want to get a better look at these carvings."

Ranek studies the dragons in the carvings, looking for any identifying markings.

Any Knowledge checks to make on the dragons? Are they any specific color? Any other Knowledge checks to make on the carvings in the room?

"What should we do with the statue? Destroy it?" asked Marcus. He wasn't sure what God it was venerating but he suspected it wasn't one he'd appreciate.

Marcus allows his senses to open, perhaps Torn had an opinion on the matter.... Detect evil.

"We need to be back at full health, in case the children are in even dire straits than the ones we just had. Injured!! Step forward!!"

"Aye. Nay idea how many more beasties be below. Rushin' into the darkness leads only to a fool's death. Now, while ye patch us up cousin', lets take a look at this wall..." As he said that Bolkvar took out of his books, and started flipping through the pages to reference something while he studied the wall.

This is going by what is posted on character sheets and headers.
Both Barra and Hakkon walk toward the dwarven cleric. After a quick diagnosis, Thurvek expends his last channel energy of the day.
Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9
Then casts a cure light wounds on Barra..
CLW: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Should be up to full.
and one cure moderate wounds on Hakkon..
CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (7, 2) + 3 = 12 That should get him up to 54.
and one cure moderate wounds on himself.
CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (8, 2) + 3 = 13 Bringing Thurvek up to full hp.
"There. Most of my more powerful blessings are done for the day, leaving me some meager heal spells for later."
Looking to the paladin, Thurvek continues, "I hope you understand. When we find the children, they may need healing as well. Must try and save it for the most needy. If they are well, then I can continue your treatment, Sword of Torm."

Ranek turns and fixes the Dwarf with a stare, his voice growing hard. "Do not question my courage, Thurvek. You yourself said your most powerful blessings are done for the day, leaving you meager healing resources. I will be pressing on with the rest of you, and I never said I would not. I am, however, being realistic about our situation - we may be forced to retreat before too long, depending on the strength of the threats that are left. To believe otherwise is folly - and I would expect a Dwarven warrior to be able to properly assess the situation and reach the same conclusion. We have been tasked to work together, not to insult each other." It was clear he did not appreciate the Dwarf's tone or implication of cowardice, nor that the Dwarf intentionally misunderstood his words. Ranek turned back to the carvings, returning his focus to them.

Marcus eyed Thurvek and Ranek, wondering if he should get involved. In the end he decided to hold his peace trusting them to resolve things themselves which they did. Naturally the search would continue, but Marcus wanted to be sure they were finished here first. Still Ranek did have a point, caution would be needed...

Going to wait and see if his detect evil uncovered anything. I think we need to avoid unnecessary encounters if possible till we find them.
