Shanya
Shanya's grip tightens on her rapier before she opts to draw her dagger.
"I don't suppose someone has any magic that will enchant my dagger so I can pierce the satyr's hide?"
Lana Shahakh
Lana shakes her head at Shanya. "Sorry, I don't know how to do that." Turning to Sven, she nods. "I will do what I can."
She'll go ahead and renew/set up her Life Link on the party before we go in.
Kalt Ìsson
Speak for yourself, Sven! My sword is magic and shiny!
Kalt pats the hilts of his various blades until he finds the right one, then draws a longsword of cold, black iron. ”I don’t know if you’re comfortable fighting with this, Shanya, but you’re welcome to it. If you think it’d be more trouble than it’s worth, then Bjornson might want to use it.”
Cold iron longsword available if anyone wants it.
Once everyone is armed to their satisfaction, Kalt lays a hand on his greatsword, imbuing it with the little magic he has managed to learn. With a nod to the others, he leads the way back down the narrow, humid tunnel, showing everyone where to step to move as quietly as possible.
Cast lead blades. Ready to go when y’all are.
Avora Teremocles
Avora kicks things off, waiting until the satyr and the plant are within 10 feet of each other if possible to intone the words to her flame strike. If she can't get both, she will aim for the plant creature.
Damage (flame strike): 7d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 4, 5, 2, 5, 5) = 25 damage (half is fire, the other half is divine)
Reflex save for half-damage and SR applies
Shanya
Shanya sighs. "My thanks for the offer, Kalt, but I have no idea how to properly swing that sword. I suppose I'll stick with attacking the plant beast and let you and Sven deal with the satyr."
DM Ranginui
Oh, I think I might have forgotten to mention for the tendriculos: it does have regeneration, suppressed by fire. Also, the Satyr has spell resistance. If Ankih want's to retcon putting sun metal on a sword or some similar preparation, I'm happy to allow it.
Kalt, Avora, Shanya and Greta carefully steal from pile to steaming pile of fungus as they creep into the edge of the room, carefully stepping over scattered bones that might crack and betray their presence.
The Satyr is blowing a particularly sour when Avora's pillar of holy fire falls from the sky, catching the two creatures unaware. The tendriculos hisses a piercing scream that raises the hairs on the neck, taking the full brunt of the blast. The half fiend, although hit by the blast, manages to throw himself to the side and seems only slightly singed. His demonic resistances seem to spare him, at least in part.
Greta uses the confusion of the blast to quickly circle around the satyr - like a wolf, snapping at the flanks of a wounded deer.
Surprise round; Lana will essentially go twice before the plant and satyr can act.

"Take them down!" cries the northwoman, striding toward the enemies and releasing some of her inner power. In no particular order: move, move, cast blessing of fervor. First level 4 spell today.
Kalt Ìsson
Feeling the power of Lana's spell course through him, Kalt moves across the strange room, ending just out of the satyr's reach and extending his sword, driving it deeply into the creature's side!
Move action to get within reach of satyr with Lunge, use Blessing of Fervor for +2 to attack, AC and Reflex (-2 AC from Lunge +2 AC from BoF = same AC as usual), attack.
+1 Greatsword, Power Attack, BoF, Flank: 1d20 + 13 - 3 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 13 - 3 + 2 + 2 = 34

Round 1: Actions
Standard Action: Drink shield extract

"Avora, I think we need more fire!" She says as she moves next to the druidess.
Durations
Shield: 80/80 rounds
EDIT: Revised my actions for this round.
Avora Teremocles
Calling again upon her magics, Avora summons a ball of flame to menace the plant creature. Casting extended flaming sphere.
DM Ranginui
Ah, I bolded Avora, but I'm actually counting the flame strike as her surprise round action. So the flaming sphere will can be her first standard round action, but I'll resolve it now.
The two evil creatures stagger under the combined assault of magic and blade. Poryphanes howls has the blade nearly disembowels him - but surprisingly the half-fiend still stands. Meanwhile, the tendriculos again suffers from Avora's fires, it's tenticles flailing as it's anger grows.

sorry, lotsa stuff goin on RL wise. Ankih has a scroll of magic weapon cl3 for 30 rnds if Shanya needs it, plus he would cast magic cicle vs chaos on the group after hearing about the saytr' mind effecting stuff. This would be before the attack started. On his turn.....
"Feel the burn....." he mumbles, casting a spell.
casting fireball into the back corner of the room. Just catching the plant in the blast.

DM Ranginui
The tendriculos hisses once again in pain as it catches the full blast of Ankih's magical fire. It slithers closer and snakes a fifteen foot vine out, striking and then ensnaring Sven. It drags the warrior to its maw, hungrily opening and closing the giant, jagged jaws in preparation of a meal. 6 pts Lana, 6 pts Sven, Sven is grappled.
Poryphanes the twisted Satyr dodges and weaves carefully as he places his pipes to his lips, despite the menaces of Great and Kalt. He blows a single, sour note the bursts in your ears into a thousand panicked voices - the sound of dead parents, lovers and friends. The voices plead for you to flee DC 19 will or be panicked for 8 rounds. On successful save, shaken for 1 round. Ankih is out of the area of affect; with current positioning, Shanya and Avora get a +4 on the save due to Sven's aura of courage.
Greta, although she whimpers a moment, stands her ground and snaps at the fey, latching onto his heels and pulling him to the ground and rendering him unconscious.

Avora, ignoring the images flashing through her brain, keeps her concentration on the flaming sphere, directing it to burn the tendriculous.
Sven Bjornson
Sven grunts in surprise when the satyr’s foul music fills his mind with images of his companions, especially Avora, suffering and dying in horrific ways but the big ulfen’s courage and will banishes the magic’s creeping fear before it can take root. He answers the music with a laugh full of bravado to help his friends similarly shake off the effect. ”Your magic has no power over us dark faerie. Surrender!”
Before he can say another word the tendriculous draws closer and wraps a crushing vine around his torso dragging him closer. Not to be outwrestled by a soggy mass of weeds, Sven tears the vine from his torso and uses it to strangle his opponent.

The pipes bring back horrible memories. Evocative memories. The witches bearing down on her caravan. The rider. The blighted Red Rider. He brought them here. Father turns to her.
"Shanya! Take the others and run! Go! GO! I'll be right behind you!"
A false promise. One she wanted to believe.
The fear grips her...
...and overwhelms her.
She doesn't scream. Sven's power allows that much.
Instead, she turns tail and flees as fast as she can, her hands over her ears. She has to outrun them this time. She has to.
"no no no no no quiet please make it stop quiet please make it stop I'm sorry I can't do this again not again not again not again" Her voice fades as she races down the hallway. She nearly bumps into Ankih as she runs.
EDIT: Revised my actions. Shanya is now Panicked for 8 rounds. I thought a Nat 1 on a saving throw wasn't necessarily an auto-fail-- turns out, I was thinking of skills in that regard. Sorry.
DM Ranginui
The ball of fire rolls just a few hair's breadths short of the plant creature as it twists to the side.
A moment later Sven, of broad chest and mighty thews, demonstrates taht no mere plant may hold him.

3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3) = 12
Kalt Ìsson
Will save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
The soul-shattering note played by the piper blinds Kalt to anything but haunting memories, twisted by the fell creature's evil. He sees his beloved mother, dead because she cared for him so much, walking through the frosted woods and calling his name. As the vision becomes clearer and his mother comes closer, Kalt can see that her flesh is frozen solid and her eyes are a dead white. Her ice-rimed mouth turns up in a cruel parody of a smile, and an unnatural voice speaks his name, "Kalt..."
Kalt is barely aware of the sound of his blade clanging on the floor of the cavern as he bolts back the way they came down the nearby stairs, his only thought to get far from the abomination as fast as he can.
Let's go, Shanya! I'll race ya.
Shanya
Don't mess with me, boy--I've got a head start on ya, and I know the way back to the entrance! >:)
Kalt Ìsson
Umm, given the initiative order, I have a head start.
Lana Shahakh
Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
"Aaaaaahhh!!!" yells the northwoman, adding her voice to those screaming inside her head. Lana will probably come in third, unless you two are slowed by armor.
Sven Bjornson
Good idea.
Sven pauses in his wrestling match with the viney horror to speak a single word, or in this case a name, laden with strength and divine grace.
"Lana!" he shouts. "Do not give in. You're stronger than that monster."
Word of Resolve: 1d20 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 4 = 19
Shanya
Umm, given the initiative order, I have a head start.
And given placement on the map, I have a headstart. :)
Kalt Ìsson
Hmm, your mention of the map raises an interesting point. The description of 'panicked' says one will follow a random path, and Kalt has two options for which way to run. Let's see where he goes!
1 is back the way he came, 2 is a whole new direction: 1d2 ⇒ 2 Whoopee! Off to edit my post!
Lana Shahakh
And given my spot in initiative, I have the biggest head start. Now then... which of you to fix...
Lana pauses momentarily as she turns to flee, Sven's voice just barely making itself heard over the many others in her mind. Somehow, his voice breaks the spell, and she glances quickly around to see if anyone else has fallen victim. "Kalt!" she cries, seeing his fearful face, "wait! Fight it!"
Cast remove fear (first level 1 spell today)... I think I can only target Kalt, since Shanya is so far back in the passage.
Wait a second, how is Shanya farther away than Ankih, yet she's in the area and he's out?
Shanya
I went sooner in the initiative order than Ankih, so I ran towards him once I got bushwhacked by the fear effect. I got Panicked and ran because I was in the AoE at the time and he wasn't.
Shanya
Done. I was next to Avora at the time, and according to the scale of the map, 1 square = 10 feet...
Kalt Ìsson
I think we have the order of things wrong. Kalt would have gone first after the satyr went unconscious, and would have headed down the stairs. Then Shanya would have run back the way we came. Sven would have released Lana from the grip of fear, allowing her to cast her spell, but only after Kalt and Shanya had had their actions, which would presumably be a double move away - 60'. So I think we might both be out of range of the spell, which is 45', unless Lana moved after one of us, then cast - and she could probably only get close enough to Shanya, in that case.
Lana Shahakh
Word of resolve is an immediate action. It'd happen the moment Lana failed the save. You're right that you guys would get one round of fleeing in before Lana could act, though, so I guess that means I can only get one of you with remove fear. Blessing of Fervor allows me to cast it as enlarged, which means the range is 50ft + 10ft/level (a lot), so I should be able to reach either of you.
Kalt, Shanya: 1d2 ⇒ 1
DM Ranginui
Kalt flies down the stairs - he vaults over the dessicated, discarded corpse of a bull along the way. It is easy to guess that the animal was a recent meal for the giant plant. It is only at the magical urgings of Lana that he stops his mad dash away from the battle. Shanya's screams, however, can be heard echoing down the southern hall.
I moved Kalt and Shanya to what I thought were reasonable positions given the fear effect. Ankih is up

Ankih pauses for a moment, torn in indecision over whether to aid the screaming Shanya or to press his assault on the plant creature.
The creature whirls about in flail of tentacles and maw. The ravenous mouth latches onto Sven, denying the warrior his freedom once again. 6 pts sven plus grappled., 6 lana
One tentacle makes a crack as it lashes through the air - but Avora senses the appendage coming and ducks in time. The other tentacle manages to strike her soundly. 4 pts. Avora; 4 lana.
The green flesh of the creature begins to slowly knit together. Greta rushes around to strike the tendriculos, but stumbles and misses her bite.

Lana single-moved in pursuit of Shanya after freeing Kalt of the fear... I seem to have neglected updating the map. Would the tentacle still be able to reach her?
Sven Bjornson
Quick Correction: Sven didn't break free last turn, he reversed the grapple. What that means for a creature with grab is up to you.
DM Ranginui
Oops. Well, in that case it would have spent last turn re-establishing the grapple (which it rolled high enough to do.) However, no tentacle attacks, no damage to anyone. Why you gotta be so mean with your "rules" - it just wants a little taste of you...
