A campaign for a particularly dense collection of nerds that in all likelihood does not include you.

FEEL THE NEED THE NEED FOR SPEED
"Everyone try to surround it!"
Aldern swiftly gets behind the boar and draws his rapier.
Everyone except Jack, go.
John moves in, flanking with Aldern, and swings his hammer.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Dadgum sassafrassin' dice. Can I change my worship to Norebo? It seemed to work for my Slayer in Age of Worms.

Jackie moves next to John and swings her sword.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
I don't think that hit but damage anyways: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
John Marteau wrote: Dadgum sassafrassin' dice. Can I change my worship to Norebo? It seemed to work for my Slayer in Age of Worms. Sure.
Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3
Heh, you know, I was mostly joking...but a Paladin of the god of gambling and dice games actually sounds stupidly fun to RP.
"The power of dumb luck compels you!" *rolls three nat 20s in a row*
Female Human Summoner 1
You didn't even show Exterio on the init list, you racist!
Jacquelin casts Magic Fang on Exterio, and Exterio goes for the bite.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Damage maybe: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Whoops.
Exterio - who I am absolutely NOT racist against and I'll have you know some of my best friends are eidolons - lands a solid hit on the boar's flank.
Saltjack?
M Tiefling (Kobold) Beastmorph Alchemist 1 | HP 10/10 | AC 18 (20) FF 15 (17) T 14 | F +4 R +5 W +1 | Init +5 | CMD 14 (16) FFCMD 11 (13) | Perc +5 SensMot +1
Saltjack consumes his strength mutagen and approaches the boar. because that's how you do this sort of thing not with a bunch of dogs and spears and bows
But Jacquelin's #1 fan wouldn't get to see her in action if you did it that way!
The boar, now snarling viciously, tries to drive its tusks into the most threatening attacker - Exterio.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
The cat easily dodges the frantic attack.
Jack.
Male Gnome Bard/prankster 1 | 8/8 HP | AC 12 | fort +0, reflex+3,will +4| init +3 | bab +0
Jack starts a song to inspire courage (+1 atk/dmg, I think) for his allies.
Round 2!
Aldern stabs with his rapier.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
1d6 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 4 + (4, 5) = 16
The beast looks severely weakened, but stubbornly refuses to fall unconscious.
Everyone except Jack goooo
Female Human Summoner 1
"Let's finish him, Exterio!"
Exterio and Jacquelin both swing for game, so to speak, with their claws and morningstar, respectively.
Jacquelin's Star of Doom: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Damage, if applicable: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Claws: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Damage, if applicable: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Claws: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Damage, if applicable: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Shit.
"Watch your language, Exterio!" Jacquelin says as both of them miss horribly.

Saltjack has better claws than exterior's crap 2d20 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6 with enchantment: Garbage Rolls.
Saltjack does the Lethal Wombo Combo - claw/claw attack.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
1d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
1d4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
"Garbage Rolls"? Whaddaya tryin' to pull, Salt?
"Norebo, Shelyn, guide my hammer." John intones.
Pally Smash!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Confirm: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 4d6 + 20 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 2) + 20 = 32
Told you Norebo was the best god.
John utterly pulverizes the boar's head.
Meanwhile, Saltjack foolishly swipes at the already deceased boar and misses SO HARD that he actually ends up scratching himself. And then he trips over his own feet and falls prone.
1d3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Take 4 damage, and please don't do that "garbage rolls" bullshyte anymore.
M Tiefling (Kobold) Beastmorph Alchemist 1 | HP 10/10 | AC 18 (20) FF 15 (17) T 14 | F +4 R +5 W +1 | Init +5 | CMD 14 (16) FFCMD 11 (13) | Perc +5 SensMot +1
Eh? It doesn't affect it IIRC. 2d20 is not treated as 1d20, AFAIK. Especially considering that I put that OOC text in after I had already seen the 18 and 13.
Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3
Yes, it does. if I roll 4d20, then preview, then roll 4 separate 1d20+x rolls instead, all the d20s will be the same. Don't roll d20's you're not going to use, in other words. It makes you look dishonest.
OBJECTION!

Huh, odd. Didn't seem to affect it when I was rolling initiative for some goblins in a game I run, but whatevs. Probably just coincidence that made it happen like that. But KK.

"Well, I guess we need to find more boars if someone wants a mantlepiece."
Female Human Summoner 1
"More would be nice... Exterio doesn't get fresh meat too often."
Male Human Monk 5 (Qinggong Master of Many Styles from the Sacred Mountain)/Fighter (Brawler) 3
I clearly haven't pestered Cube enough to update.
guuhhhhhh sorry for not keeping up with this...I'mma skip over the rest of the boar hunt so we can get things moving
You track down another boar and kill it no problem. Aldern spends most of the journey home complimenting you on your skill, though the vast majority of his praise seems directed toward Jacquelin.
Later that evening you return to the Rusty Dragon, and Aldern hands the
boars over to Ameiko to cook for a big dinner.
Female Human Summoner 1
HE LIVES
"What a great hunt!" Jacquelin (and Exterio) can both smell cooking boar meat. "I- We can't wait to have some."
Male Gnome Bard/prankster 1 | 8/8 HP | AC 12 | fort +0, reflex+3,will +4| init +3 | bab +0
"Lets get some music going!"
performance: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Jack plays some music.
The patrons of the Rusty Dragon, already pleased with the feast you've given them, begin cheering uproariously for Jack's music.
Female Human Summoner 1
Jacquelin downs [quite a bit of] mead and begins chatting with Aldern. In the meanwhile, Exterio makes short work of a large chunk of boar.
ooh aldern ur so stronk and hansome c: THERE I FLIRTED NOW UPDATE MORE
"Man, that boar fight took forever. I feel like we're forgetting something though."
Male Gnome Bard/prankster 1 | 8/8 HP | AC 12 | fort +0, reflex+3,will +4| init +3 | bab +0
In case you haven't heard already, I'm pulling the plug on this campaign due to being an unmotivated b*#@*. Sorry to keep you guys hanging for weeks on end.
John charges off into danger alone.
He was later buttf#$+ed and murdered by Ogres.
RIP in pizza John.
Male Gnome Bard/prankster 1 | 8/8 HP | AC 12 | fort +0, reflex+3,will +4| init +3 | bab +0
"Well, if there arnt any problems, I would love to settle down here, and act as the musician of this town."

Saltjack goes on to quietly murder everyone with more hair than him.
Everyone.
