On the subject of names for the Kingdom:
Kingdom of Narl (from the Narlmarches)
Kingdom of Kamelandia (From the Kamelands)
Kingdom of Andar
Kingdom of Talos
City suggestions, same as above plus:
City of Northgreen
City of Langham
City of (any of our last names)
Roles discussion:
With Osvaldt as our Baron, I would like to become our diplomat. Working with other nations to promote our name with the other kingdoms.
We should pick the roles we want and then find other's interested in becoming nobles in our new kingdom.
Osvaldt Langham
Just don't forget the NPCs to fill the remaining slots. You may have to interact with them directly in order to figure out if they are viable.
On the subject of interacting witht he NPCs, I have several things in mind. Raz - I wil follow up with you separately about mots of that.

I like keeping the word "Greenbelt" int he name of the kingdom. It has good positive connotations of fertility and prosperity. it's good branding.
I'm not keen on naming the city after myself. I'm tempted to suggest a name that refers back to Oleg in some way - giving him credit. the city wouldn't exist here but for his efforts.
Osvaldt Langham
On the subject of roles, IMHO PCs get first dibs on any role, so Richard and Robert, figure out what you'd like.
Among NPCs, I'd like to suggest Osvaldt's sister Rebecca for Councilor. She has good Charisma and interpersonal skills. Keeping her nearby would also be a way for Osvaldt to keep an eye on her. She tends to be impulsive.
I'd also like to propose Osvaldt's brother Peter for Treasurer. He's a priest of Abadar from a long line of merchants - keeping the books is right up his alley. or - his INT and CHA aren't terrible - we could make him Magister and let him run the schools.
I think Keston Garess has already de facto settled into the role of Marshal.
if none of the PCs want Spymaster - I'm thinking Lilly might be good. Folks in her line of work hear lots of things. The question is - have any of us made an effort to get to know her to the poitn where we can recruit her?
Tavius Donatus
I can talk to Lily for you my lord. I was thinking of taking on that role originally, but I think she may actually do a better job of it.
How about Greenway? Greenland? Greenmarch?
Jhod seems a likely candidate for High Priest. Nothing personal Ettore, but your chaotic nature may not make you the best candidate for High Priest of a Lawful kingdom and you may not want it anyways :)
I could also shift to Magister or General if Ettore would rather be our Diplomat. Ettore could also be councilor with his high Wisdom.
We should probably try to find a role for oleg.
Roles:
Ruler: Osvaldt
Councilor: Rebecca or Ettore?
General: Tavius?
Grand Diplomat: Tavius or Ettore or Oleg?
High Priest: Jhod?
Magister: Tavius or Curta Nerva?
Marshal: Kesten
Royal Assassin: ?
Spymaster: Lily
Treasurer: Peter
Warden: Athelwulf or Corax Xanadon?
Osvaldt Langham
If I heard our discussion right last night - here is where we stand:
Kingdom: Greenmarch
City: Leveton
Roles:
Ruler: Osvaldt
Councilor: Ettore
General: Tavius
Grand Diplomat: Rebecca Langham
High Priest: Jhod
Magister: TBD - we are asking Curta
Marshal: Kesten
Royal Assassin: open
Spymaster: Lily - but we need to ask her
Treasurer: Peter Langham
Warden: Athelwulf
That leaves Royal Assassin open. You know - a Cleric of Asmodeus might make a good executioner. I wonder if he'd be interested.

Looks correct. We had one other option for spymaster though. The Bard Helena Lang was the other option. I think she would actually make a better option.
Tavius will talk with her...| Osvaldt Langham |

You are correct. I meant to say Helena.
One other item - I was thinking lawful neutral for the kingdom alignment. I figure that gives us plusses to economy and stability, and it matches Osvaldt's worldview.

You guys will have to determine level of taxation, level of promotion, and how many festivals you want for Greenmarch. I have been working on the Advanced Kingdom Spreadsheet to correct some errors. I'll have it with me next game session (June 20). I will be out of town most of the first week of July (as is Bob). It would be nice if we could start doing a month a session (if there is time).
Osvaldt will have to find some time to talk to Curta Nerva, and Tavious to Helena. I'll have Ettore's family ready by the time we meet next. I'm presuming that Osvaldt asked Peter and Rebbecca to come to Leveton by the end of the month (Gozran). Kingdom turns will begin in Desnus (May).
Osvaldt, which attribute do you want your CHA stat to enhance (Loyalty, Economy, Stability) as ruler?
Richard I would like to see your character soon.
Osvaldt Langham
Edicts - I was thinking we would start at none. We can increase that once we get farming up and running so we can cover the costs in consumption.
Put my CHA into Economy
Yes - I would ask Peter and Rebecca to come by the end of the month if possible. Osvaldt has no trouble approaching Curta Nerva.
If we put Richard in at Magister, and move Curta to Spymaster, who does that leave us with at Warden? The singer from the bar?
On a related note - I get them confused, but Warden is city Guard and Marshal is rural patrols, right? Do we ahve the people the right way around? Does Athelwulf want to be the city law enforcement or the country law enforcement?
Osvaldt Langham
I was thinking who ever in charge of the wilderness. Not sure about the Magister I'm more barbarian than sorcerer at this point :)
OK, so we'll put you down for Marshal rather than warden. that uses either Dex or Wis. which is better for you?
And did you change your name?
Harad Navar
The Warden is the manager of the outlaying patrols. The Marshal is in charge of the kingdom defenses and the city guard. Keston Garess would be the one most suited for the city guard, but not maybe for the defense of the kingdom as a whole. However, at the moment the kingdom isn't much more than Leveton and the immediate surroundings. Corax Xanadon was hired by Oleg to run the logger teams supplying timber for construction. If you ask Oleg about him you will find that he is a ranger. As he has been out and about in the local countryside a lot he might be appropriate for the Warden, if you find someone else to run the loggers.
Osvaldt Langham
As I said - I tend to get them confused. My understanding is that we will put Keston Garess in at Marshal (City Guard) and Richard's new guy in at Warden (outlying patrols). While Xanadon might be a ranger and suited to the task, I think we should follow the general rule of PCs get dibs.

now a couple more tests, just to get a feel for the randomizer. same expression 6 times. This time I will preview and then post, and maybe even edit or delete.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Edited. Yep. The rolls stayed the same.

I think you all need to discuss roles so you do bot incur vacancy penalties. Also, Eirwulf might want to post his story he wants to tell the party to take a position in government. Steve, what map did you pull off A4? I can mark up the image from the End of Chapter notes if you tell me which you decide to annex. I may have to make one anyway to post after each round.
Harad Navar
Also the first month (turn) of kingdom building is Desnus (May). The 3 hexes you already have were done in Gosran (April). As the Sootscales have left the area I don't think unrest will suffer from them as yet. At this kingdom size you may build a mill or a graveyard this turn, but not both. A mill must be built next to a water boundary which Leveton does not have.
I will email a keyed map.
Tavius Donatus
Don't pay attention to the details, this is just a example of what the turns might looks like with the form on-line. It wasn't by any means an actual turn. I didn't have the hexes yet as well as the kingdom details and what we have decided upon yet for month one.
Mike,
I don't mind running this write-up each month if you keep the kingdom sheet updated from it each month.
Rich, maybe you should consider being the royal assasin? :]
Roles:
Ruler: Osvaldt
Councilor: Ettore
General: Tavius
Grand Diplomat: Rebecca Langham
High Priest: Jhod
Magister: Asking Curta
Marshal: Kesten
Royal Assassin: open
Spymaster: Asking Helena Lang...
Treasurer: Peter Langham
Warden: Athelwulf
I think we should Annex A4, A5, A6.
I think we should build a witch's hut for turn one btw plus farm and road A5 now that I am looking at the map. Claim A7. If agreed I could write that up.
Raz, what do we need to do to Roleplay out inviting Curta and Helena to join our ruling council?
