"I saw a door just around the corner. Is Ferdis there or the building next door? Maybe you should show us the way to Ferdis before anyone else gets hurt. Oh, and which guild operates out of this warehouse?" Hana says to Blue.

qwerty71 |

"Ferdis sits in the office over there....and i dont know nothin about a guild... i am just a warehouse worker who was attacked by thieves it seems..." the man says motioning to the area on the west side marked with a green star
you feel he is lying when he spoke about a guild and being just a worker

@GM: What weapons did he have on him? Did they happen to have any potions on them?
If it's ok with the other 2, I'd rather drink one of Borvius's potions before expending my own spells.

"Borvius sent us. Know where we can find him?"

"If Borvius sent you here then why would you look for him here? That looks like Borvius bottle you just drank."

Clarissa moves to the office door inside the warehouse, ready to backup Hana in case someone is ready for our entrance.

qwerty71 |

Clarisaa and Hana open the door to what appears to be the records room. Cabinets stacked with paper line the walls. There are additional doors on the southern and western walls. Muffled snoring can be heard coming from the southern wall.

![]() |

"I didn't say I was looking for Borvius, I said he sent us. He sent us to see a man with a red beard. Also, what do you know of Arhaneem Braeton and Borvius's business with him?"

qwerty71 |

"I dont know nuthin about that Braeton business" the man says looking away...once again you feel he is lying...

![]() |

Clarissa creeps slowly and quietly across the small room to the southern door, where she waits for Hana.
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

qwerty71 |

Hana causes the door to open and the two women see a sleeping figure slumped in a chair behind a desk...
Meanwhile the man detained by Sol says "I've told you all I know. Let me go."

![]() |

"You'd better get far from here. If I find out you tipped anyone of our presence, justice will be swift." Turning to Natraz, "You'd better drag that guard in here. and close the door."
Sol will then "quietly" move toward Hana and Clarissa.
Stealth: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (11) - 5 = 6

![]() |

Hana's head snaps to the noise Sol makes on his approach, then back to the sleeper in the chair. She tightens her grip on the longsword.
Lol, you just don't really do stealth checks, do you?

GM Qwerty |

I love Sols stealthiness
Sol releases the man and maybe even helps him drag his unconscious friend into the building before letting the man go on his way. Sol then tries to move quietly towards his female companions but manages to bump into some crates making a bit of ruckus.
In the room the women hear Sols misstep and notice the man they believe to be Ferdis is beginning to stir in his chair after the commotion...

![]() |

I know I was originally going to whisper something to Hana, but became so amused by the consistent rolling on those stealth checks that I typed the wrong name when I changed the post :P
"You just sit tight right there, mister. You Ferdis?" Clarissa says pointing her sword in the man's direction as she steps in before he can fully wake up.

![]() |

Sol will stroll into the room with his shield and sword casually drawn and stand behind the two women with a smile on his face.
I rolled an 11. Wait until next level when Sol takes a level dip of Paladin and starts wearing heavy armor.

"We seek only information. Are you the one that sent Borvius on his fool errand?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
As Sol's voice squeaks a bit when he talks. Maybe someone else should do the talking.
What does Ferdis look like?

![]() |

"Where can we find him? And be quick and honest with your answer, we're tired and sick of seeing you and your crew murder innocents."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

![]() |

"We will be sorry? Just like Walder is sorry? So you work for Borvius, eh? Who does Borvius report to? If you can prove you weren't pulling the strings, you may only serve a short prison sentence. If not, you will likely hang with Borvius. I think you best start talking. And start from the beginning." says Hana in a threatening tone.
Intimidate: 1d20 ⇒ 5

qwerty71 |

Borvius was the man with 2 swords that tried to 'protect' the children from you all back at the manor. You all killed him.
"Where can we find 'him'... ha. I think you already know where you can find him if i am seeing you here now. And you dont scare me with that fancy little stick little one."

![]() |

Sol raises his bastard sword up. "It seems Borvius was your better. We're standing here and he is not. I think, for your sake you'd better speak up and answer the ladies' questions."
Intimidate: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Apparantly, Sol can't get that squeak out of his throat.
This is why they never let me give speeches at the temple.

"I dont think you have it in you priest. Your bullying is not that convincing. I suggest you all leave here before you get hurt." the man says with confidence...

Clarissa hears some movement behind her in the other room, it seems the man Bertyn was only stalling...

![]() |

"Why do they always want to do it the hard way?" Clarissa laments out loud. She spins to face the source of the movement, immediately casting hideous laughter the moment she sees a threat.

Sol's "Seize the Initiative" Domain ability should have been active. He gets 2 rolls and takes the better of the 2 on initiative.

Sol readies his sword at (is it Bertyn or Fedris?) the man behind the desk, "You'd better think again before drawing your weapon. Stay in your seat and you may come out of this alive."
Sol readies an action to strike if he draws a weapon or attempts to stand up.
Damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Clarissa looks at the goon who was not ensorcelled, points her sword at his chest and tells him, "Leave, now, before I break out the powerful magic!" She prepares to strike him if he comes any closer. I hope he buys that, I don't have anything more powerful and that spell is only going to last a few seconds!

Clarissa manages to convince the thugs she means business and the non laughing one grabs his partner and backs out of the room....
Bertyn behind the desk freezes seeing his thugs leave and yells out to them calling them cowards...

![]() |

Hana will ready an attack as well, triggered if Bertyn continues to draw his weapon, moving to flank with Sol. Realizing she isn't intimidating anyone, she let's Sol continue with the verbal threats.
Estoc: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 2 = 19 only adding in +2 for flank.
Damage: 2d4 + 1 ⇒ (1, 1) + 1 = 3

Sol, still holding his readied action if he makes an aggressive move, "How about you slowly take your weapons and lay them on your desk. Then we start over with the questions."

qwerty71 |

the man slowly places his short sword on the desk..."Just let me go, you can search the place all you want then."

![]() |

"Oh, no" says Hana as she grabs his short sword and tosses it across the room. "You will be giving us a tour of the rest of the warehouse and then showing us where that trap door goes. Get up and take careful steps. I would hate to misunderstand your intentions and be forced to stab you." Hana will back away from the desk to give Bertyn room.

![]() |

That went better than I had hoped! Clarissa keeps her mouth shut and steps away from the door so that Sol and Hana can lead the prisoner out.

![]() |

Sol sighs and motions to Natraz to give him his rope, "We should tie him up. We'll search the warehouse on our own." Sol will proceed to tie him up while Hana and Clarissa keep him at . Escape Artist DC 22

![]() |

"So, does that mean that we should expect traps, or just something nasty? May as well tell us, you know if your boss survives he will not be pleased with you."

qwerty71 |

Bertyn gives a snicker after Clarissa comment and mutters under his breath...'...if he survives...ha...'.. and tries to escape as soon as the trio leave the room...
Escape vs DC 22: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
The group searches the adjacent room (D4) and see that it is nothing more than a storage closet filled with cleaning supplies (brooms, mops, buckets)...
They then search the main warehouse area and see that it appears to be a regular warehouse, nothing ominous about it...there is a locked door at the north east corner of the warehouse...and there is the Hana discovered trap door in the floor...

![]() |

Hana will retrieve her crossbow as they near the trap door. "Shall we go down?" and Hana will cast Open/Close on trapdoor from 10' away. If it fails to open, she will move up to it and attempt to manually open it unless the party objects.

![]() |

Before leaving the room, Sol will turn to Bertyn, "You've been less than helpful." He'll hit him a couple times with the flat of his blade and knock him out. I'm tired of these guys escaping, and we need to get to the bottom of these murders.
Then turning to Hana, "Didn't you say you found a trap door?"

qwerty71 |

Sol knocks the man unconscious and rejoins the ladies. Hana points to the trap door in the floor... Hana opens the trap door and reveals a ladder that goes into a shaft underneath the floor...the shaft is dark and Hana can see there is a tunnel but cannot determine the depth or direction without additional light...

qwerty71 |

the coin falls down about 10 feet and provides light at the bottom of the ladder. the trio sees a well worn and used dirt floor with tracks heading off deeper down the tunnel.

![]() |

Looking down the hole, Hana suggests, "I think we should explore the tunnel first." and Hana starts to climb down, testing each rung before putting her full weight on it. She will continue down unless there are objections and when her head clears the ceiling of the tunnel, will look to see where it leads.

![]() |

Clarissa looks at Sol with a raised eyebrow, "I get the feeling that 'caution' is not a word in that girl's vocabulary." She glances back but assumes that the two goons she scared off came from the unsearched room and waits to climb down after Sol.
