Radsworth |

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16 vs DC 19
Traveler: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 vs Touch AC
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Radsworth fails to make the mental hop to determine the effects of magic that have just taken place. With Arthur and the others here, he has no doubt the cultists days are numbered but is concerned he cannot locate Yingzen.
He readies his weapon for two possibilities.
1) Another foe appears.
2) The Wizard survives, and begins to cast a spell.
If 17 hits the Wizard for two damage, he must make a concentration check DC 10+2+Spell Level
Devil Ray of Cthulhu |
Eh?? Where did you slip off to, you little wretch? No matter.... More pressing matters are evident.... Must first deal with your companions.... Then, I shall find you, and make a nice stew....
The wizard casts another spell (false life)....
He calls out loudly for aid:
NEIRA!! LUCRETIA!! COME!! THERE ARE INTRUDERS!!
Mikey Jay |
(In the first couple rounds it takes him to vault up the stairs and reach the southwest office where the wizard has turned Yingzen into little bunny foo foo)....
Good afternoon, evil cultists of Cthulhu! No, we're not Jehovah's Witnesses.... We're even better! Instead of knocking on your door to talk to you about Jesus, we kick in your door and arrange a face-to-face meeting!
Marcus Greer |
When Marcus arrives at the room, a little ways behind his image, he starts casting as quietly as he can.
He makes the required gestures, fingers bending in ways that are sickening to look at, and muttering in an unnatural language.
Preparations done, he shoves his still twisted hand at the Wizard.
"Stop, stop, stop all the dancing!" he giggles softly, but forcefully to himself.
Hold Person, DC 21 Will.
Derrik Stonesmith |
(In his round of surgin' upward)
Derrik pushes himself somewhat as he too ascends the stairs with untold Alacrity the calling of reinforcements seemingly upon both sides.. and he was not sure what the two names represented.. Could be more cultists, Vile Creatures or students under the man. A distinct *CLANK CLANK CLANK CLANK* comes from the stairwell as he rapidly approaches. Each step the runes on his armor growing brighter and forming new messages in an untold language.
Divine Favor and move
Darius "Mr. Clean" Blake |
Blake, now holding the tiny bunny sees an opening and darts back toward the entering group trying to move next to if not past a defensive line.
Double move, with a Withdraw action if needed and moving behind the group. That will end Clean's turn.
Darius "Mr. Clean" Blake |
I am more than willing to walk back in there and sit the bunny right on the Devil Ray's shoulder for the Coup De Grace. That would be a 1d3-4 bite crit with sneak attack. I think he can end this guy! MJ, If you allow me to "Rewind Time" and do so I would totally be down for it!
Darius "Mr. Clean" Blake |
As a rift in time suddenly appears and a flash blinks through the tower, Blake finds himself standing once again behind the desk as the little black bunny leaps into his arms. He begins to dart for the hall where the companions are emerging from, a echo in the back of his mind causes him to hesitate and look over to the Devil Ray. As he watches, he hears the last few words of Marcus' incantation float through the air and sees the Devil Ray's body go rigid, muscles knotting, eyes locking forward, and voice caught in mid spell casting. He looks down at the agitated black rabbit a moment, then back to the wizard. A sadistic grin slips across his surly features as he darts over to the frozen caster and gently lays the rabbit right on the b@$#@&d's shoulder.
Move action to get over to the Devil Ray, Free action to drop the rabbit in the Devil Ray's square, and a second move action to move back into a hidden position behind the table.
Stealth: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (1) + 21 = 22
Derrik Stonesmith |
Just a note the spell functions like Beast Shape... Yingzen is a rabbit so he does 1d3 BUT the adjustments are for the spell only... So his Str goes down by 4 and Dex up by 4...otherwise he' mostly the same. Still hilarious as all get out.
Darius "Mr. Clean" Blake |
Yingzen, coupe de grace if my memory serves is a full round action. Me placing you there sets you up for it w/o you needing to move.
Chesterfield the Top Hat |
When Radsworth arrives to the point in the hall outside the office where he has line of sight to the wizard with the black Yingzen-bunny attached like a feral necktie to the Devil Ray's throat....
Oh! Jolly good show, that!! Jolly good!! A little slice of The Holy Grail, that!! Hohohohoho!!
Darius "Mr. Clean" Blake |
On top of that Yingzen, you should be doing Sneak Attack damage as well.
Darius "Mr. Clean" Blake |
So out of curiosity. Due to the hold person, did that take place before or after he cast his spell/called for help?
Mikey Jay |
(If Yingzen didn't kill the Devil Ray):
Okay, that's f+!!ing hilarious, but let me give ya a hand there, little fella! Haha!
Charging vital striking overhand chopping powerful "BJ" 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 36 to confirm crit 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35 4d6 + 22 ⇒ (3, 6, 5, 3) + 22 = 39 plus 2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4 holy, plus 2d6 + 22 ⇒ (2, 4) + 22 = 28 critical....
MJ's mighty blow cleaves the black-robed wizard in twain, unleashing a shower of blood and gore!
Cthulhu cultist |
Now the sounds of two priestesses guzzling potions might be detected from nearby offices to the east.... Perception DC 20 detects this subtle sound from the nearer office, or DC 21 from the next one down....
As free actions, they shout (between gulps of potions): To arms! To arms! Enemies are upon us!
Darius "Mr. Clean" Blake |
Only if he succeeds on a will save from the Baleful Polymorph. Failing on the will save means his mind becomes that of the animal he was changed into. So, regardless, we still need to wait on Yingzen. How it should go is,
- Successful Will Save: Retains mental faculties, Deals (As per our faithful Ruleadin) 2d3+4d6 points of damage as a full round action to Coup De Grace.
- Failed Will Save: Mind is turned from killing to carrots and he scurries scared from the Devil Rays shoulders and scampers around while Clean tries to catch him and save him for the second time.
Darius "Mr. Clean" Blake |
Listening intently, after the squishy mess with Devil Rays... well... Whole being... was split asunder, Blake readies himself for the approaching enemies.
Perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28
Darius "Mr. Clean" Blake |
My fault, I must have missed it. So, yes he should get the rolls previously posted by Derrik.
Cursing under his breath Blake tries to get the attention of his allies.
I don't know how you run speaking in the middle of combat so you can rule where this takes place in the order of things.
I heard the bottles being uncorked. I don't want those two getting the jump on us. Someone grease the eastern doorway or somethin to mark footsteps of any invisible assailants.
His voice had shifted from his usual tone to that of almost a military sharpness. The usual quick smattering was now clear and concise and easy to understand. Blake knew communication on the field was important, and this shift in tone and personality showed it. Focusing intently, he peeks toward the east trying to determine where the enemies are and steadies himself to spring into action.
Delaying action until either they appear, or their exact location is determined.
Marcus Greer |
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
"Well, I didn't hear anything, but if you say so..."
Marcus mutters.
"Hm. I don't have any spells to reveal invisibility...AHA!" he exclaims "I know just the thing."
Marcus' body starts to stretch and bulk up, becoming covered in thick and matted hair as his arms elongate to near ape-like proportions, finally ending up in an 8 foot tall, hairy, and very recognizeable form.
"Hah! They said I was crazy for believing! Who's the crazy one now, huh?"
Marcus uses his Many Forms ability to transform into a Sasquatch, gaining +2 Str, Scent, and Low-Light vision.
He moves forward until he is within about 30 feet of the door, but off to the side, somewhat out of sight. He brings his Image up to the very edge of the hall and tries to make himself as inconspicuous as possible. So that hopefully the Image is what the two coming up the stairs see first. The image should last until the end of this round, unless I'm mistaken.
Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Even if they are invisible, if they come within 30 feet of Marcus he should be able to smell them.
