3. The Offices
Map of the West Exhibit Hall
The door to this chamber was once a pane of expensive frosted glass, which now lies in broken shards on the floor. Within, several desks lie overturned, papers in disarray, and chairs smashed to kindling. A sturdy steel cabinet sits against the back wall, its doors much battered and dented. The mist here roils near the floor and ceiling, creating a strange patch of visibility stretching from knee-height to a few feet overhead. The smoky tendrils flow up and down the walls unnaturally and savage visages swirl to life, fanged mouths agape, before dissolving into mist once more.
Two crazed apes are beating their chests and howling in a menacing fashion while an obese man cowers before them, futile attempting to fend them off with a small ledger.

You may need to DMPC Thanar... He is getting married tomorrow :)
Eldak runs at the one straight in front of him. "Spike! We must save this man! Get the other ape!" The rhino seems to smile as he follows the commands of his companion.

Archibald delays momentarily while Eldak and Spike fall upon the apes and inflict a substantial would in each as Thanar slope into the room and hurls a ball of acid toward Spike's target.

Putting this in now in case Archibald posts before I can get back
Leil runs into the room, beating her fists against her chest. With a loud growl she slams into Ape 1.
Don't know the modifier on the slam, is it just CMB? Please feel free to roll for me.
Kassandra Carolingian |
"Aye Laddies! let us move quickly against these crazy monkeys and save Peter Griffin!"
Kassandra begins to sing a Loud hymn to Sarenrae, increasing everyone's competency in battle and moves into the room.
Everyone get a +1 Competency bonus to attack, damage rolls, and fear effects. She then moves 30 feet.
Eldak the Barbarian |
I apologize for my absence. My wife went into labor Saturday afternoon and delivered our baby boy yesterday morning! I am just dotting for now, will post later tonight

Archibald Oaksley |
I'm assuming that less than 2 minutes have passed since fighting the skeletons, but if it's been longer than Shillelagh would have ran out.
Swinging his hardened staff with all his might, Archibald attempts to crack one of the apes on the side of the head.
Attack1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
damage1(shillelagh and Divine Warrior in effect: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 2) + 5 = 10
Attack2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
damage2(shillelagh and Divine Warrior in effect: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2) + 3 = 7
Dasiji Lekaya |
Dasiji grabs a sap from his belt and attempts to club the other ape unconscious.
Melee attack (inspire courage): 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 1 = 9
...for 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 = 10 nonlethal damage.

GM Beman |
The quivering man rises and introduces himself as Saldak. He names his two coworkers currently lying on the floor as Yannis and Kadarnik. Saldak is a scribe, his jowls quaver and shake with terror as he recounts his tale.
"The offices suddenly flooded with a strange mist early this morning, and that tendrils of it seemed to pour down Kadarnik’s and Yannis’ throats moments before they went stark mad!" Nigel was examining some artifacts in another area of the museum and Saldak is certain that these Tik Taan idols are responsible for the museum’s current predicament “I smelled something wrong with those hideous monkey-faced things as soon as Lugizar brought them out of his pack. I’ve a nose for trouble, I do! No one listens!”
Saldak rummages through one of the desks and produces some scraps of Mwangi cloth inscribed with strange writing. He interprets the script on the cloth which reveals not only a warning against the idols’ corrupting powers, but also a powerful chant that dispels their influence over men. (Treat as a scroll of break enchantment.)
As Yannis and Kadarnik regain consciousness Saldak quickly offers to escort them to safety, not wanting to spend another moment in the museum. "Take these as well..." he says as he hands you three scrolls. (A scroll of cure moderate wounds, a scroll of false life, and a scroll of dispel magic.)
Thanar Acidbreath |
"I agree with the tall one here. There are more apes to beat into humans around here I hope. Is that how humans are made?" Thanar laughs at his own joke even if no one else thinks it's funny.
Assuming up is north
Thanar moves to the door in the eastern wall and listens at it.
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15

4. East Exhibit Hall
As Leil mulls over whether or not she wants to continue being an ape the party moves across to the East Exhibit Hall. A large placard above the entryway to this hall reads “Hunting the Beasts of Legend” in great block letters. This gigantic chamber is relatively free of mist, and darkness is held at bay by braziers of radiant light. Behemoths occupy these halls, great taxidermy nightmares such as a two-headed bear easily taller than an ogre; a great desiccated beetle, its carapace larger than the face of the clock tower of Absalom’s Clockwork Cathedral; a massive specimen of chimera, its jaws open in a mock roar; and an assembled skeleton of a tyrant lizard. The walls here are studded with strange masks, staves, spears, and other implements of long forgotten cultures, most likely used in ritual hunts of the beasts preserved here.
Archibald Oaksley |
Archibald nods to Leil, then attempts to cast the scroll.
Caster Level Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
DC5 Wisdom Check to avoid Mishap: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (7) - 2 = 5
As Archibald attempts to cast the high level spell, he suddenly feels as though he has lost control of the scroll! However at the last minute he regains control.
Yeesh, I'm not sure if Archibald is allowed to use the scroll again or not. Although I'm not even sure if 'mishaps' are used in PFS. Break Enchantment is a level 5 spell, so I think he needs to make at least a DC10 caster level check.
Dasiji Lekaya |
When Dasiji sees Archibald about to use the powerful scroll on Leil, he interjects. "No! That is our best weapon against the idols. A simple protection from evil potion or spell should be enough to bring her back, as it did for Thanar."
GM Beman |
As Archibald reads the words on the scroll the words disappear...and so does the plethora of body hair on Leil, who quickly returns to her normal self. Suddenly two of the stone faced helms hanging on the eastern wall begin to crackle loudly as shards of stone begin breaking away from what appears to be flesh underneath.

Eldak the Barbarian |
"Spike, there are all kinds of strange things here!" Eldak exclaims. "Let's attack that one!"
HandleAnimal: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Eldak moves forward to attack the closest... thing. On his way there he looks back to see if Spike is following. Upon realizing that he isn't, Eldak says exasperatedly; "Come on, Spike! Come help me!"
Once he reaches the thing Eldak swings with his chain.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Damage: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 4) + 4 = 12
Kassandra Carolingian |
"What witchery is this! Avast, let us kill these dreaded beasts."
Kassandra begins to sing a Loud hymn to Sarenrae, increasing everyone's competency in battle and moves into the room.
Everyone get a +1 Competency bonus to attack, damage rolls, and fear effects. She then moves 30 feet.
Leil |
Leil shakes her head as if to clear it. “Glad to be less furry here!”, she says, then quickly studies the creatures.
Knowledges on the creatures: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 +1 for arcana and local, +2 for dungeoneering
She finds her rapier (Did I keep my weapons? Never was clear on that.) and moves towards them.

Leil |
Leil shouts, “Careful friends, the vargouille can disable us all with their cries and turn us into one of them!”
GM Beman |
Heeding Leil's warning Thanar and Dasiji choose to fight the winged beasts at range.
Dasiji Longbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21, Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Thanar Acid Spash: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19, Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
The first Vargouille takes significant damage as they both break free from their stony facade and fly toward the center of the room....hovering just a few feet above everyone's head. (...and a few feet further over Thannar's head!)

damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 3) + 7 = 13
I'm not sure if the map is up to date, but Archibald will move if he needs to to get into range.
Thanar Acidbreath |
Thanar looses a ray of acid at the same vargouille.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8, Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
"Bah, durgen numbins, acid go!", Thanar curses and shakes his hand as if it hurt.
Leil |
Humming loudly, and vaguely in tune with Kassandra, Leil moves towards a vargouille & stabs with her rapier...
Rapier: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 1 = 11
and misses.
Eldak the Barbarian |
Eldak growls at the strange beings and drops his chain, pulling a throwing axe from his belt and throwing it at the closest beastie.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
GM Beman |
Archibald smashes one of the winged beasts to smithereens as the rest of his party flails about wildly; Kassandra continuing her inspiring song. Dasiji hopes his luck with his longbow will continue as he aims at the remaining Vargouille.
Dasiji Longbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
The remaining Vargouille easy dodges Dasiji's arrow as it takes flight toward the center of the room and emits a deafening screech. A sense of lethargy washes over everyone; most are able to shake it off. Dasiji & Spike appear to be paralyzed.
Archibald: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
