Brewslee Haiiya

As Nicolae states the door is clear Brewslee walks into the room and takes a peek around.
| DM Jelly |
Did anyone want to attempt to read the cloth (before the large coward fled he offered to assist in decyphering.)
Opening the door, peeking in and wandering around this room the brave adventures first notice that this gigantic chamber is relatively free of mist (yay for dry clothes) and darkness is held at bay by braziers (fire) of radiant light.
Behemoths occupy these halls, great taxidermy nightmares such as a two-headed bear easily taller than an ogre; a great desiccated beetle its carapace larger than the face of the grand clock tower of Absalom; a massive specimen of chimera, its jaws open in a mock roar; and an assembled skeleton of a tyrant lizard.
The walls here are studded with strange masks, staves, spears, and other implements of long forgotten cultures, most likely used in ritual hunts of the beasts preserved here.

Not sure what the linguistics check is for but...
linguistics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Just because, if a knowledge check might reveal anything about the artifacts, art, décor, ect...
knowledge: any: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
"It would appear, we may not be the only ones here. What wonderful adventures we mortals share!"

On the cloth you found prior to the gibbering scribe had writing of some sort upon it. The scribe, entranced with Valtyra helps her decypher it:
A spellcaster who Deciphers the writing may also read it as a scroll of break enchantment (this too ends the Tik Taan’s influence on any one subject), but doing so causes the writing to vanish as a common scroll, which can never be used again.
Now that you are in the room with the moving helm like masks everyone has a surprise round. All but Nicolae who drew weapons.

Brewslee stumbles back to the center of the room behind a crate as the masks begin to move!

Moving on, Will can have a surprise (standard or move action) in addition to full action.
As the helmet like masks on the wall fall in decay two flying monstrosities begin flying towards you with violence in their eyes!

Will comes in to save the day and drops the last flying mask! Yay.
As soon as Will finishes congratulating himself each of you hears maniacal laughter coming from the southeastern door.
Searching the door for traps and finding it safe you open it revealing the halls bathrooms. Mad laughter echoes in this cramped stone chamber. The stench of sewage battles the cold of the mist, but through the haze can be seen smears of blood across the floor, walls, and ceiling, as well as the doors of several stalls.

Brewslee will stumble into the room at the sound of the laughter. As the inebreated monk falls into the room he stumbles over a snake and slams into a laughing man.

Yet after this swift miss the Rogue slices through the constrictor, its entrails slinging to and fro in it's last futile lingering attempts at life.
Will prays for forgiveness yet misses anyways. What to forgive?

With a multitude of wounds caused by the adventurous foursome the insane idiot falls to the ground.
Looking at your surroundings its easy to see that your two most recent antagonists were eating a half orc. Some of the half-orcs body parts are lying haphazardly around the room. Apparently the insane idiot was feeding the half-orc to his buddy the snake.
Searching the room and the body parts you find a key ring. The ring of keys was still attached to the half-orc’s belt when his torso was fed to the snake. The keys were found hanging out of the snakes split gullet.
Yummy.
The room north of the bathroom is void of clues, insanity, undead or snakes. Pity.
Shall we proceed?
Approaching the final room and looking in you see mock vines clinging to the wall of this grand exhibit hall, and huts of grass are strewn about the open area. At the center of this sprawling chamber, a great stone ziggurat rises out of the mist, almost scraping the 50-foot-high ceiling. At the top of the ziggurat, a rail thin elven gentleman is strapped to an altar, his bare chest painted with strange sigils and monkey paw-shaped blots of paint.
Its obvious to see the Tik Taan hold court here as a band of savage primates (all escaped from the Absalom Menagerie) snarling, spitting, and cavorting madly about the ziggurat. Nearly 20 apes, baboons, and other monkeys revel here.
I've taken the liberty of moving you icons on the map.

So many monkeys! or maybe I have had too much today and I am seeing double. Brewslee says as he takes a drink from his flask and places it back in his bandolier. Shall we free the man? The monk says as he points at the elven man atop the ziggurat.
