Sorry guys, I will not participate in this game, my regular PbP GM will start it soon. Have fun and good luck!

Just made a last bump for the recruitment thread.
If no one else joins, the APL will be : (3+4+5+3+4)/5 = 19/5 = 3.8, hence we'll play in the lower subtier. Whatever the level of the last person is, the subtier will remain the same (4.33 APL for a level 7 taking the last slot).
As a sidenote, can everyone check their initative and perception scores are correct on the Campaign Info tab, please? I tend to roll surprise perception and initiative rolls myself, but leave "active" perception rolls such as searching to the players.
Last question before we start on Friday, does anyone's character use any special/obscure rules I should be aware of?
I hope everyone will have fun playing this adventure!

Aod has a few non-standard abilities, which are listed on his profile. The only unusual thing not listed is how the furious enhancement on his bastard sword affects his combat stats.
Furious
Price +1 bonus; Aura moderate enchantment; CL 8th; Weight —
This special ability can only be placed on melee weapons. A furious weapon serves as a focus for its wielder's anger. When the wielder is raging or under the effect of a rage spell, the weapon's enhancement bonus is +2 better than normal. If the wielder has a rage power that gives a skill bonus while raging (such as raging climber, raging leaper, or raging swimmer), the wielder gains an enhancement bonus to that skill whenever the weapon is wielded or held in her hand, even when she is not raging. This bonus is equal to the enhancement bonus of the weapon (and also includes the +2 if the wielder is raging).

We'll be starting tomorrow. Until then, I'll just make a quick reminder of how things work in season 5 in regard to factions. You no longer have a faction mission, but each faction has a general mission to fulfill over the course of the whole season. These goals are made explicit in the faction letters, so I'd advise everyone to be familiar with his own faction mission before we start. You should be aware that a faction's storyline may or may not be present through a given scenario. Typically, only one to three factions have their storyline advance in a scenario.
Best of luck in your mission, Pathfinders!

Here's some additional information on how I wish the game to run:
- I intend on running this with a good pace. I'm posting at least once or twice a day, and I expect my players to check in (and ideally, post) at least once a day.
- If we're in a combat and you don't post for 24 hours, I reserve the right to have you take the delay action until you can post.
- If you know that you won't be able to post for a couple of days for any reasons, please warn me within the Dicussion thread so that we may find an agreeable solution for all of us.
- If you disappear and fail to give any news, I may have to remove your character from the scenario altogether. Credit earned for this scenario will depend on what portion of the scenario you were active in (i.e. if you drop out but took part in half the scenario, you'll get half the rewards). I reserve the right to replace you if this turn of events should take place.
- I already mentioned it, but I'll be rolling initiative and perception rolls to determine surprise. All other rolls, including saves, are made by you. My rolls will be made under "GM Screen" (spoiler tag), and while nothing can actually prevent you from looking at them, I prefer if you refrain from doing so. After all, you don't peek over your GM's screen when you play tabletop, do you? :)
- Maps will be hosted on googledocs. You will be able to move your own character on the map. Finally, I'll ask you to call AoOs when you provoke them since movement history isn't recorded. It works on a trust basis, really.
- If you have any questions or would like any advice, please ask them in the Discussion thread, and I'll be more than happy to answer them.
- Finally, remember and live by the Pathfinder Society's motto: Explore, Report, Cooperate!

Hi All
Just a word of advice.
We should be reading this and the faction letters.
http://paizo.com/paizo/blog/v5748dyo5lftb?MidSeason-Faction-Updates
and by faction... for example:

Good reminder, thanks! That's exactly what I wrote just above. The mid-season letters aren't important because this scenario was one of the first in season 5, hence only the first letter gives you advice on what you have to look for.

I am due to fly o/seas on short notice for a project - I will have delayed posting for the next 3 days. I hope this does not equal 'No posting' and will try to put something up.

Shameless advertising! Just to let people know, I'm starting a Shattered Star campaign on these boards, so if you're interested in applying, please head over here.

@Kargen: No worries! Stay tuned if you can for the last fight of the scenario.
Speaking of which, as you may well guess the scenario is almost at an end. I'll ask everyone to post the following information here:
Real Name
PC Name
PFS Number
PC #
Faction
Email address (for the organizers to send you a boon should you win one)
Everyone can also roll their Day job first, then roll a simple d20 to see if you win a boon. If you have no day job you simply roll a d20 for the boon.
Boon for the GM? 1d20 ⇒ 17

Helaman gets a boon as well, but a random one: 1d4 ⇒ 1
You get: Boon 1
Lingering Resonance: A recent encounter with an enemy spellcaster left your body strangely receptive to spell effects. At the beginning of a scenario, you may announce that you are using this boon. The next time that you fail a saving throw against any spell or spell-like ability from an enemy spellcaster, have your GM write the name of the spell below. Choose one of the following benefits, and cross the other off your Chronicle sheet.
• When you cast the listed spell, you may increase the DC of the saving throw by 2.
• When you roll a saving throw against the listed spell, you gain a +4 bonus on the save.
You may use this bonus once for free, after which you should check the box below; each additional use of the selected benefit costs 1 Prestige Point.
You will receive it by email from the PbP Gameday organizers once I've reported the event. Congratulations!
