Mildret Punti

Mildret concentrated, trying to discern if his companions' words were having an effect.
Sense motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
And decided to chime in.
- Selling illegal drugs is illegal, mkay? We are here to stop the Aspis, and we have no quarrel with you and your Consortsium. Leave peacfully now and please don't warn the Aspis.
Diplomacy, aid another: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
Vagantem Aere
|
"And don't forget, the Aspis have been having their alchemist test the drug here in town. That is in your backyard. Maybe on people in your family, or your friends children. Bad stuff."
Vag gestures toward whoever has the journal. "We have proof of it! We are just going to get rid of the bad stuff - no harm done to legitimate goods."
| GM Crucible |
"We would see this proof. If things are as you say, we have no quarrel with you."
Assuming you share the journal...
"Hmm, I can't make out all of this, but it seems things are as you say. We will leave you to your squabble with the Aspis Consortium. Good day."
The dragon-kin returns the journal, and his group departs.
Vagantem Aere
|
"That is one dealt with. Let us hope the Aspis are as easy to dissuade. But I suspect words will just give them an opportunity..."
She takes up position near the doorway.
| GM Crucible |
Blaster, watches carefully from his high perch.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
About 30 minutes later, he is the first to notice the skylight open, and figures moving in the darkness above on the roof..
Assuming he does not yet act ...
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
The briefest of moments later, he also hears a small thump from the north, as if someone tried to enter through a blocked door.
The shadows above him stop moving briefly, and there is the hint of a whispered conversation.
| GM Crucible |
There is a pause of several minutes. Nothing seems to happen.
Then, two smoke sticks are tossed through the upper window.
As the smoke fills the floor below, two knotted silk ropes are tossed down to the floor. Shadowy figures appear briefly in the clear space between the skylight and the smoke below. Green and Blue, on map. They are have short swords out as they descend.
Climb: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Climb: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Everyone (but especially Blaster, who is nearby) may take one standard action, as if in a surprise round.
Those to the west can see the two figures on the roof as well. One in wearing gray robes over chainmail and carries a crossbow; the other, a female half-elf, is in a pink tunic covered by studded leather.
Blaster Corsac
|
Blaster keeps them in his sites, and seeing the pink feels a small amount of concern for the woman, and so aims at the one with the crossbow instead. Soft hearted fool!
Point blank shot vs Touch AC: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Damage: 1d12 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
| GM Crucible |
From his position, Blaster can't see the ones on the roof.
Blaster Corsac
|
Must have misread the description. Blaster was meant to be shooting at one of the descending figures... thought there were just two in total, so assumed that was the description of the two. Let's say green was the one he shot at.

Enora's "standard" action.
Enora moves to behind the crates, using it as a cover to hide herself in the shadows.
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 Ok. I give up to roll a d20.
Radu Teskarova
|
Radu will stay put where he is for the moment. He feels that is the wise thing to do so as to not give away the position of his comrades by his artless movement. Once battle starts, as he feels it will soon, Radu will try to get into a better position for blessing and heals.
Mildret Punti
|
Mildret touches the handle of the hammer with his forhead, concentrates and slowly exhales feeling the familiar rush as the weapon grew heftier.
Cast lead blades on the lucerne hammer.
| GM Crucible |
A shot rings out in the quiet warehouse.
Blaster calmly blows on the smoke at the end of his pistol, and doesn't even have to watch to know his shot rang true. One of the descending figures falls from the rope, and lands in a wet thud on the ground. His companions look on in shock and horror. "The full weight of the Aspis Consortium will fall on you, miscreants! Show yourselves!"
Blaster: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Radu: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Enora: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

gray: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
pink: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
The other figure on the rope descends the rest of the way, and lands, concealed in the smoke.
From your current positions (according to the map), only Mildret can see—and be seen by—the figures on the roof.[/ooc]

Radu moves behind Vagantem and casts Bless. Because it is a 50' burst, I do not believe I will be able to target Mildret and Huron.
Each ally gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects
| GM Crucible |
Yes, from your current position you'll miss Huron and Mildret due to full cover, and Blaster due to range. (He's 10' up, so add 2 squares (10') to any range calculation.)
Radu casts bless, bestowing the grace of the gods on Enora, Vagantem, and himself.
The half-elf on the roof aims her shortbow at Mildret (the only one she can really see). The arrow goes wide.

- Lay your weapons down and you shall be granted safe passage into the prison yard! I give you my word.
Mildret moves closer to the opening. His movements are a bit uncoordinated as if his thoughts are occupied with something else.
Cast shield on himself. AC 23 now.

Enora walks with her little feet close to the smoke, pulls off some butter pieces from its pouch and throws it in the smoke's direction. "Don't loose the balance, boys!", she says while casts Grease over the black square marked on the map. Ref DC 14, or fall.

Mildret casts shield, and moves in tactically.

Huron takes a deep breath and, banking on the guess that the remaining enemy on the ground has fallen, moves quickly around the grease and under the skylight to make it difficult to fire down at him.
Double move, provoking from the guy on the ground if he's standing.
| GM Crucible |
Yes, Blaster cannot see anyone. But he can listen and try to make guesses.
@Huron: A prone creature still threatens (and thus may AoO), he just gets -4 to hit.
Huron, Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 Not quite
AoO, short sword - prone: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 3 - 4 = 13
Also don't need to roll the concealment chance, because missed.
Huron dances past the fallen Aspis, easily dodging the man's sword.
Blaster uses the break in the action to reload.
The crossbowman in gray fires down on Mildret through the smoke, but misjudges Mildret's position.
crossbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
The fallen Aspis stands, ready for battle. (Provokes AoO from Huron, but 20% miss chance.)

The two Aspis up on the roof seem in no hurry to come down. The elven woman in pink nocks another arrow and releases it at Vagantem. The arrow thunks into a crate beside Vagantem's head.
shortbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
I've put some sight lines on the map. Firing up to the roof within the yellow lines is free from cover. (One more square, if targeting the figure further e.g., the northern one if you're to the south of central.) Firing from a space between yellow and red provides cover (+4 AC). Beyond the red dashed line is total cover. (Again, shift these lines one square in your favor, as above, depending on the target.)
All of this makes sense in my head, but is harder to put into words.
The smoke provides concealment (20%) to/from the roof for anyone adjacent or within it.
The two ropes still dangle down from the roof.

GM Crucible what is the distance between the floor and the roof?
| GM Crucible |
The roof is 20' up.
With a successful Climb check (DC 5 for a knotted rope), you move at 1/4 your speed.
Mildret Punti
|
Knotted! Thank god. Then this might work.
Mildret drops his hammer and darts to one of the ropes, carefully sidestepping the grease.
Climb, half the speed, +5 DC: 1d20 - 4 + 4 ⇒ (17) - 4 + 4 = 17
Using his strength he clears half the distance.
10 ft. up the rope, AC 22
Vagantem Aere

Vagantem sheaths her sword and moves to the bottom of the same rope that Midret is climbing.
Two move actions, I doubt she can make any distance up the rope as well this turn.

Enora enters in the fog and casts Grease on the shortbow of the pink dressed woman.
She is spending 1 pt of her Arcane Reservoir to add 1 to Grease's DC. So, the pink woman needs to make a Ref save DC 15, or drops the bow.

Mildret begins climbing the rope, and makes it part way up.
Enora steps forward and casts grease. The bow slips out of her hand and falls at her feet, part way over the opening.

Huron starts climbing the second rope, while Blaster moves into a better position and readies a shot.
Vagantem moves under Mildret, and prepares to climb after him.
Radu hesitates, unsure what to do. Delay.
If Radu doesn't act in the next 12 hours or so, does anyone want to bot him?
The crossbowman load his weapon and lines up a shot on Mildret. Blaster fires at him, shooting him through the heart. He topples backward, dead.
The pink-clad elf pulls a small bag from her belt and throws it down at Mildret. Her aim is off, and a bag of tanglefoot goo explodes harmlessly against the side of the nearby wall of crates.

Huron's blow cleaves the poor elf from head to groin, and the two pieces fall back and away with a disturbing splatter.
Very much out of combat.
You search the bodies of the fallen and captured Aspis members, and find the sorts of sundries you'd expect from low-level mercenaries: several potions of cure light wounds (5), two tanglefoot bags, 3 smoke sticks, 5 daggers, a thunderstone. Your attack overwhelmed them before they could use any of these items.
| GM Crucible |
You stand guard further into the night. All is quiet.
In the very early hours, Delroya returns with a few well-built laborers. They load several crates onto wagons, and hurry off into the night. "These few items need to be destroyed before the Aspis Consortium can turn them to their evil ends," she explains. "Thank you for buying me enough time to get this transport arranged. The worst of these crates will be destroyed. You have my word on that. A few may find their way to the Pathfinder Society as thanks for your assistance."
Delroya eyes the warehouse. "Huh. You managed not to burn the place down. Perhaps the Pathfinders' reputation for wanton destruction is overstated. Thanks for not making life more difficult here. Kortos still has a strong hold in this city, and we don't want to be on their bad side."
She gestures at the fallen Aspis members. "As for this lot, a couple look like they might be revived, if you care. This was your mission, so you decide what to do with them. I can have them delivered on charges to Lord Arvis, or I can simply have them handed to the Kortos Consortium, where they'll either be punished or bartered for, depending on how much they're worth. Or, we can just let them bleed out." As if to emphasize her words, a trickle of blood drips from the skylight. Delroya looks at you quizzically, but continues, "Either way, it will be a blow to the Aspis Consortium."
"Did you need to use the letter from Lord Arvis? No? ... Well, good job not needing it, I say."
"Do you have any final questions before we part?"
