Roary Flamebearer |
Fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Panting to catch his breath after the sudden rush of fury.. "Gryne hit me with that wand a time or 2 please.."
Astarton Columbridge |
Astarton takes a strip of flesh from the beastial spider across the face despite the fact that he was all the way to the other side of the room. "Ugh, for the love of... Roary? Were you aiming for me?"
Roary Flamebearer |
Catching his breath and wiping himself off he snickers at the half-elf.. "Unfortunately i have yet to master the control of gut spray.. come lets move on.."
Taking 20 to search the spider area before we do so.. Gives him a 27 Perc.
Gryne Skystone |
After wiping the goo from his eyes Gryne is able to see the Barbarian again.
Wand on Roary - 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
I love the smell of spider ichor in the morning.
GM Captain Trips |
As Roary takes a moment to search the area carefully he notices that the drain in the center of the room seems very unstable and would likely fall apart if any weight was added to it. Seeing that he strongly advises that the party avoid the grate unless they'd like to take a trip down a pit.
And thus the reason for the initiative checks, in case someone ran across!
Searching through the webs, Roary finds the partially eaten corpse of a strange dark skinned creature with overly large eyes, or what is left of them anyway. On the corpse he finds 2 potions of cure moderate wounds, a set of small leather armor, a short sword, and a repeating light crossbow with 10 bolts that appear to be coated in a vile looking substance.
Roary Flamebearer |
"Whoa watch out for that grate.. It looks unstable.. And what do we have here.. Looks like our icky friend was a bit more successful with her last prey.. Weird looking fella, anyone have an idea what he/she is?" Searching the corpse.. "Two potions here if anyone can ID em.. Some mundane gear as well if anyone is interested.."
Gryne Skystone |
I'd be happy to hold on to the Crossbow and Bolts if noone else cares to. I've been trying to improve my skills with the crossbow now that I have mastered the Longbow.
Astarton Columbridge |
Originally annoyed at the time Roary was using in looking around a sewer, he suddenly became interested when he discovered a treasure trove. The tall half elf looks over the discovery to see if he knows much about it.
Astarton detects magic on the equipment to see if any of them are magical. He takes a close look at the corpse to see what kind of creature it might be. Knowledge Local: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Astarton Columbridge |
Astarton points at the large eyed creature dead in the pit. "I'm not sure, but that could be a dragon. Also, I've heard tale from a bard by the name of Kopirite 'Nfringament of a large eyed creature called a Beholder, but he might have been making that up."
Makena Nyambose |
Makena frowns upon Astarton's assessment. "I highly doubt it is a dragon - sorry, Twigg! Perhaps it is a... crocodile?" She has no idea what the thing is.
Knowledge (insert apprpriate one here): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Astarton Columbridge |
"Well, it's a terrible thing, not knowing what something is. I guess we should look it up later. Shall we move on?
Asterton checks for more traps in the next area as the first pit is making him a bit wary. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Makena Nyambose |
"... no, wait, a... beholder, yes." What? Beholder? I don't even know what that is! The girl looks truly befuddled.
"Hm, yes, let's move on." She follows Astarton.
Gryne Skystone |
Gryne will sketch the creature in his journal for future reference.
We're getting closer Twigg...might be a dragon, could be a beholder...this is getting exciting my Gnomish Brother.
Looking at Cedrick, Thank you my friend, I will not touch it, would you inspect it to see if you have come across the substance in your quest of explosive power?
Roary Flamebearer |
"I thought Beholders had only 1 eye? No matter.. Anyone have a clue what these pots are? REgardless lets continue.."
Roary Flamebearer |
You can also id pots with a dc 15+cl perception check by tasting a small amount.. I believe Cedricks take 10 for 18 will id the 2 cure mods potions as well..

In my home games I've never allowed that one, it just seems silly. Just because you have good eyes and senses doesn't mean you know the first foggy thing about potions. But per RAW, Roary is correct. And RAW is good enough for PFS!
_Twigg |
Twigg starts bouncing around the corpse of the spider than around anyone holding the poisoned bolts.
"Ohhh! Interesting! How fascinating these creatures are! I wish I had poison fangs and could spit webs out my butt! Maybe we can keep going and find more?"
Roary Flamebearer |
Snikering at Twigg.. "You are something else little one.. Come let us find some more Beholders as they are called.." With that Roary continues on.. If it gets to dark he will break out a sunrod..
Perc: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Roary Flamebearer |
I cant access roll20 at work, so i have to be botted movement wise.. Sorry.. The perc. check ws for moving up..
GM Captain Trips |
Stomping through the muck and mire the party rounds a corner heading south, walking a short distance before coming to a four way intersection in the tunnels.
I think someone asked before but it is pitch black down here. Roary and Makena are going to be fighting blind without a light source and this far in even Astarton is having problems seeing in the total darkness.
_Twigg |
Twigg pulls out a bar of soap and wiggles his fingers. The bar of soap starts to glow as if it was a torch.
Twigg casts Light and will do so as often as necessary.
"Ahh ha! Now we don't have to run around in the dark and miss all the cool things we could see! Mexel be careful the non-spikey hedgehogs we might see aren't really that friendly and have a poor taste in friends, you best avoid them."
A hedgehog is now sitting on Twigg's shoulder.
Makena Nyambose |
Makena repeats the same ritual she did to create Twigg's "fire beard". Four flickering balls of light apear in her hand, and she sends the dancing lights spinning down the south corridor, past Astarton, to see what lies ahead.
GM Captain Trips |
Revealed additional areas
The corridor is lit by the dancing lights as they move forward, showing another four way intersection further down followed by a two way intersection ending in a wall.
As Astarton moves in to the west corridor, aided by the magical lighted soap, he sees what he think just might be a body floating in the water a bit further off.
GM Captain Trips |
Roary slowly approaches from the east, scanning the room for details and clues. The sewer water flows in from the north and swirls about this room, drawing larger pieces of garbage and refuse into a floating pool of trash at the center. In the middle of trash floats three well-dressed, bloated corpses, their skin purple and splotchy and their bodies floating face down.
Roary Flamebearer |
Roary approaches the bodies to make sure they're really dead.. Poking them with his 6' sword.. If they don't mover he will move back and try the other direction..
Roary Flamebearer |
After seeing they are truly dead he will move to the other side..
