Our Mysterious Benefactor |
The bone ship cannot fire at you, but Iseph and Waiola continue to pepper the ship with fire! Critical damage: 1d100 ⇒ 52 1d4 ⇒ 1
Their forward gun is glitching!
ENGINEERING PHASE:
Quig/R2-D2, you are up!
They try to patch the guns! Engineering: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 SUCCESS!
Chakanta |
Chakanta addresses Quig as the gunners make another successful hit on the bone ship. "We are getting through, keep it steady."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
If I could stop rolling 5s, that would be phenomenal.
R2-D2 |
Quig tries to divert power to the engines.
Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18.
Our Mysterious Benefactor |
Piloting the Bone Ship (not as dirty as it sounds): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Dora, you and XyXy get to go first!
'Xy Xy' |
As Dora pilots the ship around the rear of the Boneship, Xy Xy tries to anticipate the enemy's movements and re-arranges rhe energies of the shields to protect their most vulnerable spots.
computers: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 2 = 28
Still 37 points. Will place 16 in the aft and seven in other areas
Our Mysterious Benefactor |
The bone ship just turns in place!
Waiola fires the light laser cannon, but cannot hit!
Iseph with the turret, then me with a big gun!
Ivy 'Iseph' Iridone |
turret: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
coil gun damage: 4d4 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 3) = 13
Our Mysterious Benefactor |
The bone ship shudders as the coil gun barks!
However, its forward red eye glows and fires! Gunner: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 for 4d8 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 1) = 10 damage to the Starboard quadrant!
ENGINEERING PHASE!
Quig/R2D2 is up!
'Xy Xy' |
So that takes us to 30 Shield points, 3 damage to the Hull. Current Shield Array: 7 Forward, 7 Port, 16 Aft, 0 Starboard.
Sorry, don't mean to backseat, but have you remembered your -2 to Pilot roles due to Engine Glitch? A lot of things to remember when I GMed this so just trying to help! (Also, we would have won last turn :P
R2-D2 |
Quig keeps trying to divert power to the engines.
Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24.
Our Mysterious Benefactor |
Doh! I was totally mixing up the engines and power core! Noted, but rather than retcon, we'll just remember from here on.
Engineering to patch the glitch!: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31 And so much for that!
PILOT PHASE!
Piloting: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Waiola, Son of Wyman, Grandson |
So that takes us to 30 Shield points, 3 damage to the Hull. Current Shield Array: 7 Forward, 7 Port, 16 Aft, 0 Starboard.

Here is what I am seeing done at another game table, and it seems to work wonders.... And no, this isn't our ship or fight....
Ship StatusLoreseeker: 31/55 | F:X P:10 S:10 A:10 | Life Support: Normal | Sensors: Normal | Weapons: Port GLITCH (Patched), Front GLITCH| Engine: Normal | Power: Normal
Endless Threnody: 43/100 | F:X P:X S:X A:X | Life Support: Normal | Sensors: Normal | Weapons: Normal | Engine: GLITCH (Patched) | Power: MALFUNCTION --> target power
'Xy Xy' |
I did as my first action and got 25... Not sure if we got the data though?
Our Mysterious Benefactor |
Interesting shortcut. I like it! I love the ship stats sheet, but it doesn't translate well to PbP.
I moved the Bone Ship!
Dora and XyXy, you are up!
'Xy Xy' |
You get full and current Hull points so can work out the critical threshold that way and percentages of damage dealt. As well as things like its AC and gun potential. Very powerful move is Scan if you roll high enough
Bolstered by his Captain's soothing words, Xyroniel reaches into the shield systems and works on transferring their energies to keep them protected against any potential fire they might suffer from the enemies' cannon.
Science: 1d20 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 4 = 27
With 30 Shield points remaining i will place 3 shield points in the aide facing away from the foe and 9 in the others
Ivy 'Iseph' Iridone |
Iseph concentrates on the enemy ship and shoots from the turret
turret shot: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
coil gun damage: 4d4 ⇒ (1, 4, 2, 1) = 8
Our Mysterious Benefactor |
The aft gun and the turret barks, but only the aft gun manages to rake the bone ship! Still, it causes issues onboard the bone ship! Critical damage: 1d100 ⇒ 41 Weapons Array! 1d4 ⇒ 4 Port gun is glitching!
ENGINEERING PHASE!
The Threnody's engineer tries to repair the guns! Engineering: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30 vs DC 14! Success!
Quig/R2D2 is up!
Our Mysterious Benefactor |
I will be on vacation from Friday to Monday. Rest assured, I will be back. Feel free to go ahead and roll Engineering, Pilot and Gunnery Phase rolls!
Bone Ship Piloting: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
R2-D2 |
Quig tries to deflect power to the shields....
Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23.
Chakanta |
In an attempt at intimidation, Chakanta throws open the communications channel to demonstrate the prowess of their gunners.
Intimidate: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
But instead, he hits the wrong button and ends up giving the enemy ship an awkward close up of his own face.
Ivy 'Iseph' Iridone |
turret shot: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
coil damage: 4d4 ⇒ (3, 4, 3, 1) = 11
sorry thought I had shot on saturday but board has eaten my post?
Our Mysterious Benefactor |
Once again the ship's guns bark and the Bone SHip cannot respond!
Engineering Phase!
Engineering (Divert to Engines: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29 SUCCESS!
Quig/R2D2 is up, followed by PILOT PHASE!
Piloting: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Ivy 'Iseph' Iridone |
shoot the endless tedium turret: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
coil gun damage: 4d4 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 1) = 8
Our Mysterious Benefactor |
The next fight will go A LOT faster, I promise. This one is a little easier and a little beefier to give you error room to learn the system.
R2-D2 |
Quig tries to boost the ship's speed.
Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21.
Chakanta |
Words of encouragement drift once again from Chakanta's mind to Xy Xy.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
I'm sure glad you all have been rolling well, because my dice are no help.
Our Mysterious Benefactor |
The guns bark and the bone ship shudders! The Corpse Fleet ship lists to one side and its power core overloads, covering the ship with coruscations of negative energy. As you watch, it lists powerlessly to the side, ready for boarding!
End of ADRIFT, beginning BOARDING!
The Endless Threnody drifts just outside the forward viewport. The enormous Corpse Fleet starship bristles with bone spurs, and a baleful red lens at its fore resembles a swollen and bloody eye. Crackles of dark energy leap across the bone spurs, discharging from the ruined ship’s necromantic power source.
With a burst of static and a flash, a blue-hued hologram of Venture-Captain Arvin appears at the Loreseeker’s communications station. “Excellent work. The Endless Threnody is incapacitated, but not pulverized. I need you to board that vessel, access the main computers at the bridge, and recover the coordinates of the missing Starfinder vessel’s crash site.
“That energy signature looks dangerous, and those discharges can damage your hull. Dock at the cargo bay at the rear of the ship and make your way forward to the bridge. Wear space suits if your armor can’t protect you from vacuum—there are a few suits in a storage locker aboard your ship. Eoxian ships do not have life support and are often exposed to space. Any questions?”
Waiola, Son of Wyman, Grandson |
Waiola, hearing what was said over the comm unit, grunts, and heads down to the docking port to await boarding, his weapon in hand ready to destroy all that stand in the way of his mission..
Core book 196 says that all armors provide environmental protection, so unless you aren't wearing armor (or your armor says it doesn't), you don't need the space suit.
Dora 34 |
It's not quite clear from the rules, but I'm going to assume that Arod is not in danger from the environment of space.
Dora has no questions. She stays in the pilot's seat, ready to guide the ship into docking.
