Are the hyenas not fighting back?
(This was the Round Ten "readied action" everybody had. The gnolls (for the most part) were holding bows, so no AoOs as you got close with your 50-ft-moves. Now we can go into Round Eleven.)
The Protectors of Kelmarane all ran to the newest pack of gnolls attacking them. Khayal was already killing them one by one with his double blades. (He crit'ted one, 5-ft-moved to the next, hit it too.)
Shirin and the guards see to Bartan. The Lieutenant on his horse runs through the mass of gnolls, forcing them to move out the way as he brandishes his sword and yells at them.

Her horse was dying. She could feel it in the labored breath, the massive body shaking with every step. They'd been at a full gallop through the desert heat for the entire day, her own body was sore from the unending ride but given the stakes, there was no other way.
She could see the battle, was closing in on it, just a few more steps.
'Just hold out a few more moments girl.' she thinks as the froth streaming from the mare's mouth sprays back behind them.
Over the last stretch she tears, her sword drawn, readying a charging attack against a flail wielding ettin, tearing into a bald man standing bravely against it when she feels her horse give out. Feeling the rhythm of the last few steps she lets her body do what it does best. Dance.
Allowing momentum to hurl her body into the air over the back of her horse as it tumbles to the ground, the Desert Rose of Katapesh flows into a magnificent dismount.

The Pactmaster guards cheered from beside the sphinx, and the Lieutenant swung his horse around for a new turn at the newest gnolls. (Normal move, turning around.)
Hajar killed the first gnoll in the line, moving to threaten the female gnoll from the previous dune. She screeched back at the paladin, stepping away from him.
"For the Carrion King, you will pay for that!"
The gnoll female pointed at the human, and a red ray came from her fingertip.

A smile crosses her beautiful features as memories of past encounters with Yazi flicker through her mind, the heat of battle, the chaos. She missed both.
