Carinthia Sunsong
DM: Carinthia will be looking around for her own weapons and such on her turn. Her seeing them or knowing their location may impact her action.
Hattori Aiko
Also, the turn order says I'm up, but I used my move to try to get away from the ogre skeleton, and my action to accept the fizzy drink from Clara.
leinathan
Carinthia looks around for her belongings. Other than her armor, which was left on, and her holy symbol, none of them are to be found.
Behind the group, the unseen caster is still casting more spells, giving the group just a little bit more time to get ready for them...
Calder Brandson
Calder will try his best to finish off the last Frostfallen.
Axe: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
Axe 2nd attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 Possible.

"By the Rose, finally!" Carinthia says excitedly as she sits up from the alter. She reaches down and grabs the axe, then heads up the stairwell as fast as she can, the chains rattling against the stone as she moves.
Carinthia Sunsong
Oh. Map showed what looked to be a stairwell. My bad.
Edit to prior post:
"By the Rose, finally!" Carinthia says excitedly as she sits up from the alter. She reaches down and grabs the axe, then looks to the walls of the pit containing her.

Can we generally locate the spellcaster by sound? Enough that I could cast glitterdust over where I think he is?

While Vashta vanishes and sets up an ambush, Calder carves into his foe. He slices easily through the thing's armor and into its bones, but it stays standing easily. Meanwhile, Ameiko steps up to help Calder deal with the creature, shouting praises for her friends as she swings Suishen. Once again, she slices through the creature, her attack joining Calder's. It raises its club in counterattack, retaliating against the Ulfen warrior. Fortunately for Calder, his mail protects him from the undead giant's attack
Ameiko vs. Ogre (Inspired): 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 1 = 20 Damage (Inspired, Arcane Strike): 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + (2) + 1 + 1 = 13
vs. Calder (Stare, Grazed): 1d20 + 10 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 10 - 2 - 1 = 11
Calder deals 19 damage to the skeleton after stare and DR - it is grazed. Ameiko deals 14 damage to the ogre, and it is wounded. The ogre misses Calder. Carinthia climbs 30' up the 50' pit.
Carinthia Sunsong
How long are the chains on my wrists? Long enough to maybe swing up and have someone help me the rest of the way up?
Hattori Aiko
Aiko quickly consumes the fizzy drink that Clarabibulus gave to her.
Cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Sorry, this week was crazy! Did I really leave a standard action dangling since Monday...
.
Also, sigh. CLW can be such a demoralizing spell.
Clara takes a glance over her shoulder, realizes the caster is safe around a corner, and throws a fizzybomb at the last skeleton standing.
Once again, her toss is sloppy, but somehow manages to connect solidly with the enormous ogre skeleton.
Explosive bomb(touch) @grey+mutagen: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 2 = 14
Fire: 4d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 6) + 5 = 20
I *think* I'm also up for a new round now, yes? If so, is the skeleton still standing after that bomb?
Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz
Clara breathes a sigh of relief as the last ginormous skeleton clatters to the ground in a pile of charred bones.
Trying to keep her voice down, she pulls out her healing wand and holds it out to Ameiko. "Ameiko, do you want to see if you can help Aiko and Calder freshen up? I'm going to keep a watch over here."
Then a draconic voice comes from her throat, suggesting, "Can anyone lower a rope to help our angelic friend?"
Clara looks a bit surprised at the suggestion, nodding, "Oh right, that's a good idea too."
With that, Clara drops a bit of rotten egg into one of her fizzy drinks and shakes it up, ready to throw it the moment she sees something round the bend behind them.
Move: draw CLW wand and hold it out for Ameiko
Stnd: ready action to throw stink bomb at the caster (or whatever) when they finally come around the corner.
.
EDIT: I added the [bigger] tag to the draconic...but at least for me [bigger] comes off looking SMALLER. Do yall see the same?
Hattori Aiko
Am I also up for reals, or is this the same round in which I used my standard action to drink the fizzy drink? I've lost track because it was:
* Withdraw and accept fizzy drink
* Next round, standard to drink the fizzy drink, had nothing for my move
So I don't know if the "you are up" listing is accurate or not.
leinathan
Ameiko takes the cure wand with a nod from Clara, right as the bent form of Tunuak, the priest from Iqaliat, hobbles into the room. His small, wrinkled eyes narrow as he regards the intruders to his cave domain. "I thought it might be you outsiders," he says. "I suppose I'll just have to kill you myself."
As he speaks, Clara lets fly with a bomb at his face.
Clara vs. Tunuak (Mutagen, Cloak of Winds): 1d20 + 10 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 10 + 2 - 4 = 25 Damage: 4d6 + 5 ⇒ (2, 5, 5, 4) + 5 = 21
The bomb explodes, although the resulting smoke and fire is quickly blown away by a shroud of swiftly-moving wind that surrounding Tunuak. He is seared when the dust settles, and with a grimace moves into action. A pair of translucent wings made of wind sprout from his back, and he rises twenty feet into the air. As he does so, he casts another spell, creating a semivisible protective barrier around himself.
Calder, Carinthia, and Vashta are up.
Carinthia Sunsong
”Yeah...a rope would be nice!” the woman says as she continues scaling the wall of the pit.
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
How close does that get me to the top? Curious before I dedicate a double move to climbing...

"You've already cost us one friend," Vashta declares, turning her baleful stare on the shaman. "Now that you've revealed yourself, we can put an end to this, for Tallak!"
She concentrates and casts a spell, hoping it causes the shaman to lose his ability to cast and fight.
Swift action: hypnotic stare on shaman; -2 to Will saves and attack rolls
Cast Mental block; DC 16
Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz
Does the cloak of winds prevent him from needing to roll a DC 16 Fort save vs nausea? I read the spell and am not sure it would...but I can see you ruling it either way. Just let me know.
Calder Brandson
Calder takes a rope from his backpack and lowers it to the climbing woman. "Up quick!" He orders considerately.
Handy haversack, so the rope is there when I reach for it.
leinathan
Sorry Clara: No, but he is immune to inhaled poisons and gas effects.
Tunuak Will (stare): 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 11 - 2 = 13
Tunuak blinks under the effects of Vashta's spell... he finds himself unable to access his own memories, and gasps with frustration.
Calder lowers a rope to Carinthia, who uses it to pull herself up onto the stone surface of the upper level.
Ameiko moves over to Aiko, drawing on her own reserves of magic to heal the critically-injured ninja. "Oh, honey," she says, "That looks terrible."
Ameiko CLW: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
The last frostfallen ogre, though it is creaking and falling apart from the damage dealt to it, swings its spiked club at Calder. Once again, it whallops him, drawing blood and a tasty bruise.
Ogre vs. Calder (Wounded): 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 10 - 2 = 21 Damage: 2d8 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (8, 1) + 7 + (3) = 19
7 healing to Aiko makes her wounded. 19 damage to Calder makes him wounded. Vashta afflicts Tunuak with a mental block.
Carinthia Sunsong
As she pulls herself to the surface with the rope, she stands and throws her arms around the man that helped her to freedom. Looking over his shoulder, however, she quickly lets him go and says ”That’s him! The man that captured me!”
She steps aside and takes the handaxe from her waistband and adds ”You’ll pay for what you planned to do to me!” The woman’s eyes almost seem to darken with malice as she prepares to try and cleave into the man, despite his flying.
Carinthia Sunsong
My hero! Besides, you are so far the only one to make an attempt at helping her (aside from killing things) by giving her a weapon and helping her out of the pit. Haha!
Hattori Aiko
I was gonna go down with a rope, but other peoples' initiative came before mine.
Aiko lets out a contented sigh as Ameiko treats her wounds. "Thank you... that already feels better."
She looks up at Tunuak and glares. Then in a sudden motion she whips out a dagger and hurls it at the shaman.
Thrown dagger, 1 range increment, wounded: 1d20 + 9 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 9 - 2 - 2 = 17
Probably a miss, given all his magical defenses, but if it isn't...
Dagger damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Deathblade poison
Type poison (injury); Save Fortitude DC 20
Frequency 1/round for 6 rounds
Effect 1d3 Con damage; Cure 2 consecutive saves
Do we have any party buffs going on that could get my attack roll over the top to hit? Please? Anyone?
Hattori Aiko
Forgot the +1 inspire courage from Ameiko, but that is still probably not gonna make it (AC 18).
Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz
Especially with the Cloak of Wind, which gives -4 to ranged attacks against him.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20
Clara scratches her head (not sure quite what the latest spell he cast was) and then lobs another fizzy drink at the shaman
Explosive bomb(touch) +mutagen+inspire-winds: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 10 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 27
Fire: 4d6 + 5 ⇒ (6, 4, 5, 2) + 5 = 22
Seeing the fire not scathe him in the least this time, she curses the harshest Gnome curse she knows--"May you get so bored you get bored of boredom!"--and then pulls something else from her belt pouch.
Stnd: Fire bomb (which I know doesn't affect him)
Move: Draw a Tanglefoot Bag
Hattori Aiko
I couldn't find that -4 anywhere in the spell after reading it three times, which is why I chanced the ranged attack. Now of course it's right there as soon as I look at it. Oh well, most powerful poison available totally wasted.
leinathan
Sorry, I had a busy week and this game fell by the wayside. I've set up a schedule for updating, and am moving into a period of work stability, so it should get better.
Clara hurls a bomb. Though her aim is excellent and her spellcraft powerful, it fails to harm the shaman at all. A protective layer of magic around him protects him from any and all harm. Aiko's thrown dagger is whipped away by the sheath of winds protecting the wind shaman, and as his opponents fail to damage him again and again, he lets out a low, dry chuckle.
All the same, he finds himself unable to draw on his shamanic powers and growls with frustration. He floats down to the opposite side of the cavern, pointing imperiously at Carinthia, the group's angelic rescuee. Over the whipping winds that surround him, he cries, "She is mine! Hand her over, and I won't have to kill you all!"
Will (stare, grazed): 1d20 + 11 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 11 - 2 - 1 = 26
He then simply focuses on shaking off Vashta's magic - though she was unable to lock away his powers for a moment, he is just too strong-willed for it to last longer than that, and he gives a small smile as he is able to break free of her enchantment.
Good news: poison isn't wasted. It's still on the dagger and doesn't expire.
Calder Brandson
Calder growls and tries to rid the party of the last Frostfallen, having little that could effect the flying fool.

I thought they were all dead?
”I’m nobody’s you old devil! The only way you will strap me to that altar again is if it’s my lifeless corpse!”
She then bolts around the northern edge of the pit towards the shaman.

"Don't worry, dear," she adds to Carinthia. "We won't let him take you!"

Tunuak Will (Grazed, Stare): 1d20 + 11 - 1 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 11 - 1 - 2 = 24
Though he is coated in revealing glitter, Tunuak is able to resist the blinding effects of Vashta's spell.
Calder is unable to lay a final blow on the last of the frostfallen ogres, though Ameiko steps forward and, with a flash of her ancestral blade Suishen, lays the final undead ogre to rest.
Ameiko (inspired): 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 1 = 29 Damage (inspired, arcane strike): 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + (6) + 1 + 1 = 17

My token should be beside the shaman, because I had said I ran around the northern edge of the pit. Unless there is something preventing that path?
Clarabibulus Flingflopsparkfizz
Clara frowns as she realizes that Tunuak's magic has effectively neutralized everything she can do...and likely so for the rest of the troupe as well.
The little fizzician waves toward the tunnel they came in through and backs toward it.
Move back, then Holding Standard to see if others agree.
Calder Brandson
Calder grunts his agreement, letting the more fragile move first he slowly backs toward the entrance, never taking his eyes off Tunuak.
"Back up." He tells Carinthia when he sees she doesn't understand what Clara suggested.
Hattori Aiko
Aiko steps back next to Ameiko. "C'mon, we can't hit him from here, let's back up with the others!" she says urgently to the bard. "We need to pull him into a confined space, at the least."
leinathan
As the group looks to retreat, the shaman calls upon his profane magic, creating a ricocheting miasma of energy in between Calder, Ameiko and Aiko. The energy brings about black burns that hurt painfully, and fill each of you with nausea.
Damage: 4d8 ⇒ (2, 5, 5, 3) = 15
Calder Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Aiko Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Ameiko Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Aiko and Ameiko take 7 damage from unholy blight. Calder takes 15 damage.
That's the last shot that the shaman can get off before the party turns tail and flees, back down the passageway, where they wait in the stone tunnel for him to - hopefully - engage them on more advantageous turf.
You all have 1 minute to do what you must/want to before Tunuak follows you into the tunnel. I am going to change the map. Feel free to place yourselves as you choose.
Carinthia Sunsong
Carinthia moves over to the badly injured woman that had helped rescue her and places a hand upon her shoulder. Nothing happens, and Carinthia looks at her hand expectantly before pulling it away and folding her arms across her midsection, as if trying to hide her hands from sight. ”I...I’m sorry. I don’t seem to be able to help you...”
