Speaking of Factions, I wish PFS had made a Varisian faction when they got rid of the other two. That's where Shin would have bounced to.

![]() |

Yeah, I know Sczarni is the default Varisian faction. Maybe they could have done the first city based faction, the Magnimarian Lodge, led by Sheila of course. The Heidmarch's are de facto Grand Lodge at this point, but ya know, it "could" have been cool.

![]() |

Have you got your house back yet, Shin?
And … Shan was kidding about that “Des cut out a man’s tongue and fed it to his wolf” thing, right?

![]() |

Sorta. Be warned, this is in another PFS game so it may contain spoilers.

![]() |

![]() |

The whole thing was a source of contention?
Lol, I can believe it! Can you imagine if Mella was there in paladin-form?
Oh and Shan? Come on. You know I don’t click spoilers! ;)

![]() |

Sahar the witch being Mella's alternate personality.
Also, thank you for asking Luisila, I did get my house back, yesterday. Though it will probably take until GenCon to get it cleaned.

![]() |

Awesome. Thank you so much for running this Endless. I don't think I would have been able to squeeze it in else where. I defiantly couldn't have asked for a better group. ;)
Luisila, always a pleasure. I'm glad you came along for the ride as our 4th. Here here!
The Morale of the Story: Grease For the Win!

![]() |

Got the Chronicle Sheet. Thanks again, GM Endless!
Oh and thanks for inviting me along guys, I really enjoyed it!

![]() |

Yes, that was a lot of fun, GM.
@Luisila: Don't forget, your talents will be humbly requested in Isger. I estimate by mid-week. Zynep and Linnea could use some help keeping the boys in line.
@GM: I won't be able to grab the Chronicle until sometime around lunch.

![]() |

Man, I'm leveling all over the place.
Shan will level with Tangle Chronicle
Zynep will level if she lives though Cyphermage.
And then my PC in my Carrion Crown game just leveled too.
Firing up the Hero Lab!

![]() |

@ Shin: Can't wait!
Yes I am doing some levelling too, Shan! Eadie goes to Level 2 once we're done with Tangle and I played an all-day module with a pre-gen Luisila 4* a few weeks ago - so she goes to 5.

EndlessForms |

My pleasure, everyone! Glad you LL people were able to get it in before the deadline. Enjoy your stat boost!
@Shan: my friend Barbara is about to start running a group through Carrion Crown and I'll be playing a wizard and was thinking of being the party crafter. Is there enough time for crafting in Carrion Crown?
I'm GMing a group through Reign of Winter and that AP would not be very kind to crafters because we're half-way through the third book and there hasn't been a good opportunity to just take a week off for crafting. I suppose you could but it's a pretty fast-paced AP so it wouldn't really fit the story.

![]() |

So far yes. I also asked my GM the same question, and he said yes too. (I was thinking about a Crafting Wizard cohort, hehehe)
I don't think it would hurt to ask. In an earlier 3.0 game, one of the PC was taking crafting feats and I didn't know it. The campaign was pretty much a dungeon crawl. Had i known I would have made sure he had time or recommend other feats. He was a sad monkey.
I'm only about 1/2 through the 2nd part. But so far there is no pressure to jump from one place to another. This isn't much of a spoiler, but you actually have to hang out in town for a month in the 1st module.

EndlessForms |

Ah, perfect. I'm going with an elven abjurer (counterspell specialty school) from Kyonin and working towards the Cyphermage PrC. So I'll certainly be scribing lots of scrolls in addition to other things. I thought from the description that it would be a crafting-friendly campaign. The GM has just started reading through the first book so we won't be starting for a couple weeks I'm guessing. Really looking forward to it though; I've only been playing PF for a little over a year and most of my experience has been PFS. Last January VC Mike Bramnik started up a home game (Tektite: that's what Beleg was originally created for) but it died pretty quickly. This summer I've been running Reign of Winter but I've been dying to play in an AP since I started playing PF.

![]() |

GM Endless, thanks for another great time. I really feel lucky to have fallen in with such a great group. I'm not sure what or if you plan on running anything else soon, but you can count Desmond in. Actually, I think I'll have a chance for some RL playing on Saturday. Of course, I probably just jinxed my chances by typing it out. But, I'd like to be able to play Des, so if you plan on doing something that would include a now Level 5 Desmond, he'll be ready on Sunday.
Shin, Shan and Luisila - it has been a pleasure, as always, to defend the good name of the Society with you.

![]() |

Okay, I have a question, and I guess my searching skills on the Paizo boards have something to be desired.
Desmond has enough gold to add a magical enhancement/enchantment on his cold iron greatsword - 4,000 gp. When getting the first magical enhancement, does it need to be just the basic +1, or can I add something like Bane or Ghost Touch, or anything else that is a +1 equivalent?
I'm not sure if I want to add an enchantment to the sword just yet, just something I'm thinking about.

![]() |

It has to be the basic +1. After that, you can add any of the other goodies.
Of course, do you want to spend an additional 2000 gp to make your cold iron magical?
Monsters that typically have DR/cold iron are daemons, demons, and fey. Rarely do you need magic and CI. Of course, season 5 being the year of the demon, I maybe eating my words.
Most people just buy a basic masterwork weapon and make that one magical. Or get crazy and get mithral. It saves you the 2k. If DR/cold iron & magic comes up, just have a oil of magic weapon or bless weapon on hand.

![]() |

Yeah, I think I will just get the +1 to my armor for now. That and maybe a handy haversack.

![]() |

I'm trying to figure out what I should get with my Kirin benifit. Any recommendations for a < 3000 gp item for a monk? Man, 4000 gp would have been lot better breaking point ;(

![]() |

**WARNING** Noob suggestion incoming.
Eyes of the Eagle gives +5 boost to Perception for 2,500gp.
Shan going regularly in the surprise round would be quite good.
I don’t have my Seeker of Secrets book in front of me, but I think most of the useful ioun stones would be +3,000gp. I can check later though.

![]() |

Oh, now I need to check into skill-boosting items. This decision won't be easy...

EndlessForms |

Sounds like everyone else has scenarios lined up. Des: I've been wanting to run The Golden Serpent (5-9) for a while. I will hold off starting so you can play him IRL. I forget, are you going to GenCon? I can wait until after that if you are.

![]() |

Not going to any cons. Looks like I might get to play Rivalry's End on Saturday. Thanks for waiting on me.

![]() |

I would be down for Serpent, after GenCon.
We don't really have another game lined up per se. Luisila was in a group of six that I ran through Severing Ties. (along with Shan and Des). Then we moved on to Cyphermage w/out Luisila and another player. We are about to finish Cypher and get the six back together for Goblinblood Dead.
I would have Ezrek available after GenCon, If I don't send him on a suicide mission into BoneKeep One and Two. Not sure what PC to take through that. I hear you need optimized characters and I don't make optimized characters.

EndlessForms |

Yeah, I generally don't OP my characters either and have no intention of losing anyone in Bonekeep. My favorite character, Trotter Flaxseed (archaeologist 10/mysterious strager 1), just died in Waking Rune last night. Luckily we had a cleric who raised him for only 5000 gp. We were actually doing really well until I was the only one to fail at a save-or-die spell that put him to -84. Ouch.
I can hold off until after after GenCon if you guys want to play Golden Serpent. Will everyone be 5th level by then (or have a 5th level character available)?

![]() |

Yeah, sorry GM Endless. I apologise if I came across as being rude.
In late June we organised to have a game of Goblinblood Dead with Tektite GMing once Way of the Kirin was finished. I am looking forward to this game as it gathers together most of the group I played my first pbp with on these boards + another PC I played with in my second pbp + Desmond's Lorewarden/Bard.
Shan plays his Priestess of Calistria and so with the two clerics of the Savored Sting, things can get interesting.
*Ouch* about your Level 11 character. Losing him would have really sucked. I’m glad that worked out all right for you.
I’ve got an off the wall idea – but I’m reluctant to propose it because I’m the newest to this group but here goes …
Once Golden Serpent is done, would you consider a 1-2 run of Shadow’s Last Stand 1? I like your GM style and could bring my Fighter 2. The drawback is I get the impression the main group favors their level 5+ characters … anyway, no worries. Whatever happens, I’d love to apply for one of your games in the future.

EndlessForms |

I didn't pick up any rudeness anywhere, no need to apologize!
I've got several other PbPs going right now so I have no problem delaying starting a new one. If you guys have other PbP games lined up for these characters, go for it.
I'll start Golden Serpent for Desmond and Ezrek (and anyone else if they have a character available) after GenCon and I can start Shadow's Last Stand I (and II possibly) whenever you are ready. Anyone else is welcome to join with a low-level character and we'll find a few others to fill the seats if we have to.

![]() |

I've got a couple of low-level characters that could participate in Shadow's Last Stand I. I've already played through II with Linnea.

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Thanks so much, GM Endless.
I will keep an eye out and maybe see how you are going a bit after GenCon then?
For the record, I have also played Shadows Last Stand 2 but not Part 1.
Have a great GenCon! With Fall nearly here, I have heard they are giving away the following PFS boon at the con.
Who’s ya QB?
There is a New Hope. If the GM or any player at the table is from the Great State of Indiana, before making any single attack roll or skill check the player may say, ”Hey, how about that Andrew Luck, huh?” and receive a +2 luck bonus to the roll. Once used, this boon should be crossed off the Chronicle Sheet.

![]() |

Shan would be down for Golden Serpent. I'm going to try to see if I get somebody in my group to run either Icebound Outpost or Temple of EE next week. I want to play those before Shan turns 6. My gf painted all my PFS PC mini's and I've yet to use them. ;(
I'm not going to join in on the Shadow' Stand run though. I need to cut back a little.
