"Well, we have the poem. We've traveled north and eassssst, and found the iron medusa, though I'm not sure about the 'embrace' part. Next we are to find a sssstar behind a wall... I would asssssume it's that wall." She points to the wall around the complex.

Alathos searches the area for hidden passageways and other oddities such as pressure plates and the like.
Perception: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (20) + 30 = 50
Be prepared, if this is like some of the other ruins I have come across, even a simple misstep could trigger unknown traps or protections.

It appears there is a place to insert the baton here!
He then points out the location and steps back, gesturing for someone else to do it.

Ok, I'm just going to assume you try to wiggle it. :)
As Chu'ko fiddles with the rod, the eyes rotate in their sockets. He fiddles and twists some more until the eyes go crossed. Suddenly, a blue light leaps from the the medusa's mouth and sweeps the area. It focuses on each of you for a moment, blinding you with its intensity.

He turns facing the floor, and both closes his eyes and holds his breathe.

If it doesn't work he will try other walls as well, such as left right and above.....

Sorry, just to clarify. I'm INSIDE the box? I didn't get that from your first post... I thought I was sitting ATOP a box.
After determining that there seems to be no easy way out of the box, Salrann pulls out a scroll of earth glide and casts it on herself. She then (presumably) melds through the stone box and out the other side. What does she see now with her light source?
Perception: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (6) + 21 = 27
GM Choon
You slide through the side of the box and into an octagonal chamber that is made of fine, polished white marble. The domed ceiling peaks twenty five feet overhead, decorated with frescoes of people in billowing robes, hands joined, looking down with pity on those below. Braziers along the base of the dome filled with flickering flames faintly illuminate the chamber. Twelve carved stone sarcophagi lie beneath the dome, surrounding a large carving on the floor of a leering medusa’s face.
You can hear trapped peers through the thick stone of the other sarcophagi, and the lid of each occupied sarcophagus (including yours) is carved with the enclosed person’s name, year of birth, and the current year (as in the year of “death”). At the foot of each occupied sarcophagus is a 9-inch-long funerary baton, similar to that provided by Hanoris, but made of polished brown stone. The recessed floor in the center of the mausoleum is an earth-tone mosaic of complex geometric designs reminiscent of Qadiran artwork, with a scowling medusa’s head in relief at the hub, 15 feet wide and made of iron, a larger version of the vertical head at the entry wall.

Chu'ko finally decides that this poem must be referring to something else or his door is jammed.
He grabs his trusty traveler's anytool and shapes it into a crow-bar

"Ok so now I know there is a door...."
Strength check 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
If that fails I will set my weight body position and take 10 or 20 if possible
Salrann
Salrann dismisses her spell and moves to each of the other sarcophagi, aiding her ally inside with their Strength checks to push open the lid. As she is about to try to help one of her allies, Chu'ko pops the lid off all on his own. I suppose I should have just tried a Strength check first before wasting a spell, but oh well! ;-D
Strength check aid Alathos: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Strength check aid Eden: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Alathos casts light on his amulet. He looks for some sort of locking mechanism or other method of opening the box.

Eden snaps her fingers, causing a Light spell to activate on her finger times.

Chu'ko attempts to pry the lid off the box labeled Eden...
He set the Traveler's anytool as a crowbar and attempts to open the box.

Eden flies out of her enclosure and hovers next to Chu'ko. She looks at the where the stone lid fell and then to Tengu Bard. The transmuter can't help but wince. Even when she first escaped, Eden seemed a bit surprised by how easily she got out.
"Many apologies, Mr. Buzenbo. Truth be told, with my lack of muscle mass, I would not have expected to escape on the first push. Thank you for any assistance you did give me."
If he allows her, Eden helps the Tengu to his feet.
Sorry for the delay about these, by the way.

The above spoiler, for everyone now.
You come into an octagonal chamber that is made of fine, polished white marble.
There is a stone slab to the north that looks like it might be a door, but there is no visible means of opening it. A medusa head is carved into it's surface.
Salrann
Do we still hear any other people scrabbling in the other 8 sarcophagi, now that the four of us got out? Salrann will move around the room checking the inscriptions on the other ones for any names she might recognize.
Salrann
"My friends, it looks as if we will have to use these batons to enter the next room. Let us prepare for battle before we do so."
Salrann will cast several buffs on herself after changing to naga form.
-aspect of the falcon: +3 competence bonus to Perception checks, +1 to ranged attacks, lasts 12 minutes
-stoneskin: DR 10/adamantine, ends after it absorbs 120 points, lasts 120 minutes
-mass owl's wisdom: +4 Enhancement bonus to Wisdom scores of all allies, lasts 12 minutes
This increases's Salrann's Wisdom score by 2, since she currently only has a +2 headband. Current stats will be updated in her profile under "naga form".

He watches as Salrann begins casting spells..

Well, it looks like it is just you and me little buddy. It's not the first time we've had to chop our way out of a box.
Alathos unsheathes his Adamantine Temple sword and starts chopping at the side of the stone box.
Adamantine Temple Sword: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Adamantine Temple Sword: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
He will continue to chop until he makes a hole big enough to crawl out.
His average damage per turn (assuming hardness is ignored) is 26

I didn't actually get released from the stone box. My strength is very low and he would have chopped his way out rather than tryo to push it off. He would have continued to chop towards Salranns voice until he was free.

Alathos goes over to the door and checks for opening mechanisms, possibly those related to the new batons we have found.

Do do the sarcophagi we were in, and therefore the associated batons, line up in cardinal directions? Also, do the batons have any discernible markings that make them different from one another?
