Do I have cover with Vark? I'm guessing no, since he got me. So I'll aim for him.
N'Dateh's nostrils flare wildly and he hisses with pain as he feels the humans' curved blade slash long bloody gashes through his scales.
I will die here!! he thinks, and fear rises in his throat, taking hold of his mind and his muscles, until a voice booms through his head and pushes the pain and the fear away: Bite! Bite at his dark heart! Feast on this human as you pass on to meet your ancestors! BITE! BIIITE!!!
With a hissing roar, N'Dateh hurls himself at Vard, claws and teeth raking and snapping.

For 20' movement, I am supposed to subtract 4 from the acrobatics roll for long jumps, so I end up with a an 8 :-(
A long jump is a horizontal jump, made across a gap like a chasm or stream. At the midpoint of the jump, you attain a vertical height equal to one-quarter of the horizontal distance.
If your check succeeds, you land on your feet at the far end. If you fail the check by less than 5, you don’t clear the distance, but you can make a DC 15 Reflex save to grab the far edge of the gap. You end your movement grasping the far edge. If that leaves you dangling over a chasm or gap, getting up requires a move action and a DC 15 Climb check
Reflex DC15 to hold on: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Taking Vark going down in stride and knowing there is nothing she can do at the moment, Celentria concentrates on the fight. Now one on one with Vark, Celentria grins wickedy. "Now, I unman you, coward... Stealing from a woman who trusted you - this will be enjoyable."
She dodges, twisting setting up her defenses strongly - attacks then holds her rapier in a position to block any further attacks by Vark.

N'Dateh |

N'Dateh's field of vision is washed by a spray of blood, then turns a painful shade of black, as he loses balance and plummets forward on his knees, then back, ending like a doll thrown on the floor.
Inside his head, the voices sing in happiness: Death in battle! Glory! Glory! The Heavens will open their doors to welcome their brave warrior. Death in battle! Glory! Glory!
The voices repeat and repeat their insane mantra as blood gurgles in soft bubbles down the side of his mouth, hesitating along the tips of the ochre barbs on his chin.
Listening to the sound of his death accompanying the hymn of the voices, he thinks to himself, attached to consciousness by a thread: I am mad! These voices... They will control me. Take over my destiny! They...
I don't want to die... I don't want to die. I don't want to die! I DON'T WANNA DIE I DON'T WANNA DIE!!! he shouts back at the voice.
And they stop. Inside himself, N'Dateh has found a place of solace. The realization quickens his pulse and makes him groan.
A place of control..!

Celentia does unman him as she skewers him with the rapier. He gasps for a moment and falls to the deck of the ship.

Julian approaches the fallen, reptilian warrior, and removes his wand and activates it with a quick command word. Healing energy quickly brings him to consciousness.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Now 39 charges left
"Well, that ambush wasn't our finest. But, well, any ambush you can walk away from is good one right!!"
After a philosophical shrug, Julian pulls the lizardman to his feet after leaning back and bracing himself really well. As a small man, he knew that the bulky warrior would instead pull him to the ground if he wasn't prepared.
He points to Vark: "He is a cold-blooded killer, but he may know some things. I am conflicted about his fate."

N'Dateh |

N'Dateh coughs blood as he regains consciousness. He sits on the stairs of the deck, perhaps sick, perhaps lost in thoughts, staring at the sea.
What happened to me? What does it mean?
He can't hear the voices.

![]() |

Nodding at N'Dateh, "You should have waited for aid before confronting the big man. We will work better as a team once we get to know each other better, I suppose."
Pointing to Vark and the others she says. "If we can keep these from dying, it might be worth it to question this one. And the sailors were just following orders and didn't seem too bad as most of them ran when overmatched. I have little skill at healing, however."
To the group she adds, "After that, we heard some clatter from below - I suggest we head down as soon as we can."

N'Dateh |

N'Dateh snaps out of his reverie and offers: "I could bring him back, but I'm in a bad shape myself..."

N'Dateh |

"Thank you Julian. I feel... Much better..." he says, but he doesn't seem to mean his body health. Somehow, he seems more focussed. Less distracted.
"I know nothing of human's pipes. All I can do is ask the spirits to fill him with life. It would be better just to stabilize him before heading down."

Morgana Darya |

Morgana's eyes narrow, her eyes turning ice-cold as she looks at her own wounds, but her expression slowly warmsand she nods. "Aye," she says quietly and calls upon the Harbourwing to stabilize the wounded... starting with Vark.
