You have all been aboard the Jenivere for some time, as its made its way from distant Magnimar enroute to your final destination of Eleder. As you've progressed further south, you've left behind the cold winter days of the north for balmy tropics.
Some of you have been on the ship longer than others. For example, Zaen boarded off Mediogalti Island, whereas Ki, nominally one of the Jenivere's crew, has been aboard the entire trip.
On the long, boring days at sea, you've had ample opportunity to meet and speak with your fellow passengers (including the nine detailed in the Player's Guide).
Please introduce your character to start the campaign, including physical description, demeanor, etc.

Setting the stage...
Another seemingly endless day in the Jenivere's passenger hold wends slowly by. The heavy sea air and constant rolling motion are enough to lull you to sleep most days, but after several weeks (or months, for some), the time will not pass quickly enough.
Your traveling companions are arrayed around the cabin, sitting at the two small tables or laying in mesh hammocks, when the main hatch opens. Captain Alizandru Kovack steps in through the bright sillouette and looks around. He is a tall, middle-aged salt with keen blue eyes and graying beard. Kovack nods to Ki, his crewmember assigned to serve (and watch) the passengers, and smiles grimly, in understaning the boring fate he suffers.
"I estimate we are four, perhaps five, days out of Eleder, if Gozreh is willing. Your misery is almost over!"
From her corner of the cabin, Aerys groans. Even in her half-drunken state, the half-elf sounds somewhat pleased by the news. The well-dressed gnome, Gelik Aberwhinge (pronounced with a hard "wh" - "It's AberWHinge, not Aberwinge," he explains often... too often) claps and starts pacing around the cabin space.
"This is superb news! I knew we could not have more than a week to go! Oh, to have the solid, unmoving ground beneath my feet once more. Enough of this lurching, swaying... *plunging* sea!"
From her corner, Aerys groans again, this time sickly.
"What brings you to Eleder?" the gnome asks you. "Running from the law, debtors... wives? Perhaps you seek solace, exotic places... or lost cities of gold!" He smiles toothily, as if ready to embark on another long-winded tale.
Ieana, the insular scholar, sighs loudly and takes up her notes, moving to a distant (and quieter) part of the cabin.

Some character details below, mostly repeated from the Player's Guide, with some extra details and links to pictures
Aerys is a trim, athletic woman with short dark hair, tanned skin, and fierce blue eyes. She dresses in tightly fitted leather armor and favors dark clothing and tricorn hats.
Aerys boarded in Port Peril, where she immediately got into a scrape with a crude sailor. She spends most of her time in her bunk, seeming to purposefully avoid fraternizing with the ship’s other passengers. The long days at sea have not been comfortable, and she spends most of them half-drunk or passed out on her hammock.
Gelik is a spry, energetic gnome with blond hair and a neat goatee. He dresses like a noble at all times (“If you can’t take the time to dress properly, no one will take what you have to say seriously—and they’d be right not to!”). With liberal use of prestidigitation, his fine clothes always seem freshly cleaned. Only the ink stains on his fingers break the illusion of a proper gnome nobleman (“If you don’t have ink stains on your fingers, no one will take your writing seriously—and they’d be right not to!”).
Gelik has a quick wit, but also a cutting sense of humor. He spends much of his time writing in the ships’ common areas, and takes every opportunity to tell long-winded stories, boast of past journeys, or quip about anything in his field of view.
Ieana is a bookish, Varisian woman with long mouse-brown hair she keeps tied in a bun. She wears wire-rimmed spectacles when she reads, which is often.
Ieana tends to keep to herself, and has said she is traveling to Sargava to explore the ancient ruins there. Rumors aboard the ship alternately suggest that she’s the Jenivere’s owner, a Chelish agent, or Captain Kovack’s secret lover. Ieana keeps mostly to herself, and grows more intent on her studies with each mile the ship travels closer to Eleder.
Ishirou is a rugged Tian man who appears much older than he is, with graying hair worn in a ponytail and a perpetual scruffy beard. His clothing and armor are well kept and clean, but obviously of low quality. Only his sword, a beautiful katana, has any real value.
Taciturn and dour, Ishirou has no sense of humor and little reason to smile. Aloof but not rude, he gives the impression of one who has had a hard life but find himself currently without direction.
A prisoner loaded aboard in Corentyn, Captain Kovack sees to this taciturn human’s needs with curt courtesy, but insists he be left alone, sequestered in the ship’s brig.
Sasha has tousled red hair and mischievous green eyes, and is missing the pinky finger of her left hand. She bears a tattoo between her shoulder blades—the symbol of the Red Mantis. Slender and athletic, Sasha never stands still or stays quiet for long.
Sasha boarded the Jenivere in Ilizmagorti. Since leaving Mediogalti Island, the woman’s somber demeanor has gradually faded, revealing a boisterous and optimistic personality. Sasha’s optimism and easy laugh border on the manic. Certainly she never stays angry or sad for long, no matter what the circumstances.
None have yet questioned her about her missing left pinky finger.

The unassuming averagely built man with the dark blue cloak with the cavernous hood has been mostly quiet, but not entirely unfriendly. He's quick to offer a greeting or apology when he steps in one's way, and carries on a conversation easily but never seems to take a side or offer an opinion, just ensures he understands the position of the tale teller or asks a question clarifying an element of the story. He listens with his head cocked away from the speaker and it isn't until several days on the ship before the others understand why. A blast of wind from a suddenly opened door takes his hood off displaying close cropped auburn hair and an intricately wrapped blindfold tied off above the nape of his neck. The angry red pinch of scars above and below where the blindfold covers his eyes are visible to everyone.
The man you now call Parity is obviously blind, using his hands to guide himself along the walls with ease and comfort. Whenever he is able, he practices with his falcata, a long single-edged curved sword that has a serrated cutting surface on the first foot above the hilt. It is exquisite and the few practices you've witnessed are similar to watching two people dance. The sword is both an extension of his body and a separate person in his martial exercises. He never seems to hit any of the sailors that pass to close by, but he apologizes if he steps in their way nonetheless.

"Regale us, Gelik, with your exploits or those of others? Pray it is a new one and will wind away the hours, pleasantly. You could answer your own questions and let us know what brings you on this forsaken boat."
| DM NomadSage |
Gelik chuckles. "As you no doubt have guessed from my many tales of adventure and exploration, I am a member of the Pathfinder Society." He stands straight, hand to chest and chin slightly raised. "It is my sworn duty to explore the distant realms of Golarion in order to expand knowledge and uncover truths. Eleder and the dark wilds of the Mwangi Expanse is my destination - the secrets I plumb there will make me famous."
You get the sense he is being dramatic, but not exactly lying. From his seat along the wall, Ishirou snorts derisively.
Gelik's eyes narrow and he grimaces at the rude interruption. "Don't you have a suicide ritual to perform, or some such vaguary of honor to dispute, Mr. Brooding and Silent?," he snaps at the Tian.
The gnome turns back to Parity, smiling again. "*Ahem* But you already know enough about humble me. I was trying to find out more about you..."
| DM Fflash |
"Seems you two have a lot to work out." Parity looks between the gnome and the giant against the wall. "Personally I find the garrulous explorer could use a man who owns such a well-tended piece of martial craft. At the same time, the quiet warrior could always find a use for such a distracting 'man of the people'", Parity smiles quickly. "But who am I to say?"

Parity doesn't look so much as he does nod his head in the general direction of the 2 passengers' directions. <this playing the blind will take me a bit"
