Bellamy casts a spell on the goblin engaging Elaina, trying to stall its actions!

DM Roll:
Goblin Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5

The goblin stops its attack, its mind clouded by the arcane spell.

Herri steps forward and swings his sword in a great arc, nearly cleaving his goblin foe in twain!

Since Herri was able to defeat her chosen target, Zella instead moves to G5, snapping her scarf at the goblin nearby. The creature is unable to avoid the attack, and suffers a particularly nasty injury to his abdomen, but manages to keep his feet.

Elaina starts to engage her foe, scimitar slapping out, but the goblin manages to roll under the swing.

Nover finds his initial target is now twitching on the ground, so instead moves to J6, swinging a powerful blow at the goblin nearby! Unfortunately, the blow falls short, planting a mighty hit on the ground at the goblin's feet.

The goblin in F4 snarls at Zella, trying to impale her with his rusty blade!

DM Roll:
Goblin attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
crit confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Dogslicer Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Zella tries to jump back, but the goblin slashes her across the arm for 2 hp damage!
The goblin in I7 is inactive.
The goblin on the cart decides to descend and help his comrades, advancing towards the upper group.
The flames on the woman flicker out, but not before doing a bit more injury. fire damage: 1d4 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 0 = 1

Round 3: Bellamy, Herri, Zella, Elaina, Nover, Goblins

Updated Map

With his opponent appearing dazed and the injured woman not in as much danger as she was in before, Bellamy turned his attention onto the battlefield, he could see two goblins ready to jump Zella; who looked to be favoring one arm over the other "Very unsporting of you" He spoke in a peculiarly calm voice as he moved forward, whipped his right arm across the air, the arcane energy around it glowing red, leaping into the air and embedding itself on the ground they were standing on. In mere moments the ground the goblins were standing on began to melt into a grease like substance.

Bellamy will move to F8 and cast Grease on F4 and E4, it has a DC 14 Reflex save.

Female Human Bard

Zella tries to stifle a small cry of pain as the goblin's befouled blade slices into her flesh. Angered over the damage to both her flesh and dancing costume, Zella strikes at the creature again.

attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 2 + 1 = 15
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Bellamy attempts to assist the pressed Zella with a spell, coating the area under the two goblins with a magicked-up grease.

Goblin F4 Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Goblin E4 Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

One goblin manages to catch himself, but the other slips and falls to his hands and knees, still cackling even with his injuries.

Herri steps up and swings at the prone goblin and puts a swift end to his maniacal laughter.

Zella steps forward, whipping her scarf back before snapping it forward at the E4 goblin. The aim seems true, but the goblin manages a small twist and deftly avoids the blow.

Elaina continues to attack the menace in front of her, but again her foe manages to evade the flat of her blade.

Nover moves up, trying to maneuver into a flank on the goblin Elaina is attacking. He swings his warhammer with a mighty blow:

Warhammer: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 14

He again misses, his rage causing his swings to go unchecked and without accuracy.

The goblin in E4 snarls at Zella, seeing the blood on her arm. It snaps its blade forward towards her:

Dogslicer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Zella is ready for the attack this time and sidesteps it with contemptuous ease.

Goblin in I7 turns its attention to Nover, noticing Elaina is trying to use the flat while Nover is all-out trying to smash it:

Dogslicer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

The goblin manages to get lucky and finds a crease in the armpit of Nover's armor, the dogslicer penetrating before Nover can back away.

Round 4 Bellamy, Herri, Zella, Elaina, Nover, Goblins

Updated Map

Sorry, it's been a long day, okay for round 4 here would be Nover's actions. 5ft step to get flanking on the goblin unless Elaina already did so and once again try to smash the goblins ugly face. If that is not feasable or the goblin is dead or unconscious move to E5 and swing my warhammer at that goblin.

The nick of pain is nothing to a sturdy warrior such as Nover. He takes aim with his warhammer and attempts to swing once again with the swing going wild.

Raging Warhammer smash: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 91d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 add 2 more if I get flanking although I rolled a 1. I cannot seem to roll above a 10.

Boo.

With another snap of his fingers, tiny orbs of fire flew forward from Bellamy's hand, and exploded around the goblin's head, giving him another dose of dazing smoke.

Bellamy will cast daze on the goblin fighting Elaina and Nover, DC 13 will saving throw.

5 ft step to E,5

Stepping up a bit to get in a better position, Zella slices at the goblin again.

attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 1 = 17
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Bellamy will try his luck again, attempting to disorient the goblin who is deftly avoiding damage from Nover and Elaina, succeeding in dazzling the creature with the flashing light:

Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7

Herri steps forward onto the slick surface, and almost slips, but catches his balance. The stumble causes his aim to falter and his sword flies high above the head of the little creature.

Zella whips her scarf forward, the blades on the fabric tearing through the goblin's throat as it collapses, gurgling on its own blood, to the ground.

Elaina yells at the goblin to not be alive, but it stubbornly refuses to listen, again avoiding her slice.

Nover can't seem to get his aim right on the little creatures, again swinging wildly.

The remaining goblin is dazed by Bellamy's spell and inactive.

End of Round 5

---------------------------------------------

At this point, it's safe to assume between the 5 of you that someone will drop the little guy, so combat is now over!

The difficult terrain status is now gone, since the crowd has thinned out and thankfully headed for greener pastures.

Silence haunted the once chaotic battlefield, everything was still for a few moments. As if time itself had decided to halt and let the combatants gaze upon what they have accomplished. Bellamy looked about himself, somewhat surprised by how the streets that were busy with fleeing and screaming people were frightfully empty...it almost made it seem that the festival was nothing but a dream, a distant memory and this bitter and sobering sight was their reality.

Quickly remembering the injured woman, Bellamy moved to her side and looked her over "If any of you have skills in healing, it is time to employ them" He said as he looked over the woman trying to guess how badly hurt she is.

Heal roll to see how injured she is: 1d20 ⇒ 13

His rage subsiding, Nover rests the head of his warhammer on the ground and leans on it. His shield placed on his back, his free hand on his lower back. Visibly winded he grabs his waterskin and takes a drink.

"Goblins huh, I hate the little buggers. Can somebody check on the villager please? I'm a little rusty, haven't needed to swing this thing in over a year and a half. I've been relying on my fists since I moved here."

I started raging on round 2 I am fatigued for 8 rounds.

Bellamy, the villager is sorely wounded. The brand itself likely ruptured something in her back, and she will carry the scars of the flame for life. But she will live.

DM:

Nover Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Bellamy Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20
Elaina Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
Herri Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Zella Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Female Human Bard

If no one else beats her to it, Zella Moves over to the wounded villager and casts a healing spell upon them.

clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Then, she will finally see to her own wound.

clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Zella still has a very angry look upon her face. "I cannot believe those foul little creatures dared to disrupt this holy festival."

The villager's moans subside into more of a general slumber. Zella can feel the injuries in the townsperson's back knit together, bones refusing, burned flesh smoothing. Hopefully this will just be a terrible tragedy she can tell her grandchildren about one day.

The sounds of the chanting continue in the town, clashing steel and the occasional explosion proof that the goblins are still hard at work. Father Zantus has left the stage to assist in another area of town, and the Mayor and important players have all been escorted to safe havens. However, hundreds of villagers are ripe game for the foul beasts, who seem to be having quite a time.

Everyone please post about two rounds' worth of actions. Zella has already used hers up with her spells, and Bellamy has used 1 round. We'll try to press forward soon after.

"Grrrr! I wish I had my stuff with me. Why are these guys here? Doesn't this city have walls or guards?"

actions:
Can I double move to the big building to the east, then climb it to get a better picture of what's goin' on? If so...

Seeing the others attending to the fallen woman, Elaina sprints to the building on the eastern edge of the square and tries to climb it.

Take 10 for 10 if we're out of combat.
Climb check if we're still in combat: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Perception if I get to the top: 1d20 ⇒ 11

Elaina, from what you have seen Sandpoint has a very small guard force. Perhaps 10 on duty at any given time. Judging by the chaos reigning in the city, they have their hands full.

Elaina:
You run over to the big building to the east, but quickly realize (by taking 10) that climbing it is an exercise in futility. The buildings are well-made and don't offer adequate handholds for those not practiced in it.

Nover still attempting to catch his breath waves the others on.

"Go on without me, I'll catch up. I'm getting old in my young age."

Hefting his warhammer over his shoulder he gets ready to move out. Still able to move with some ease, but not at the speed of Zella or those not wearing armor.

Seeing that the woman was stabilized, Bellamy moved towards the near by building that lay past the wagon and jumped towards it in an attempt to reach its roof, which would hopefully get him a clearer view of what was afflicting the town.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 LOL or not.

Answering Elaina, Nover is starting to get some of his wind back.

"The town has a few guards, not that many as it is normally very quiet. These goblins got in somehow, either they used stealth and cunning which isn't very likely in the case of cunning or they were smuggled in. Attacking at sunset is a common military tactic on the surface, but attacking when the mayor was getting everyone's attention, that takes planning. The little buggers are organized, either by an incredibly smart goblin or by someone else who knows how the Swallowtail Festival is run every year."

Despite his fatigue that should wear off soon, Nover heads towards the booms and the screams. If it takes a few people to stop the goblins, the people nearby were capable enough.

"Let's go kill some more goblins and stop this mayhem before many more people get hurt or worse."

Herri calls out, Is any one hurt? Where are the clergymen of Desna?

A wounded guardsman happens to hear Herri as he rushes in another direction. He furrows his brow, looking irritable. "Helping out against these little buggers, they are!" After shouting, he continues on his way.

Everyone but Elaina:
You hear a sound of maniacal laughter, and see the bottoms of goblin feet peeking out from the cart that holds the fuel for the evening bonfire. Flames start to lick around the sides of the vehicle as you see four goblins emerge. Three are simulacrums of the four you just defeated, but one is a bit different. This one apparently is one of the singers fueling the goblins' appetite for destruction. The creatures see you and move to attack!

Surprise Round: Bellamy, Nover, Goblins, Herri, Zella, Warchanter

Map

Nover willready an action to smash a goblin. If I had a full round I'd move to L5. Due to fatigue his str is only 14, but the racial bonus to hit a goblin will cover for it. Total bonuses to hit are +4, total damage bonus +2

Looking back at all the others Nover looks towards the goblins and spots the stage hoping to smash a goblin that wanders over. If he's successful he'll make a run for the stage, something to put his back against is better than nothing.

I hope the others don't leave me out to dry like this, that is a lot of goblins.

Female Human Bard

moving diagonal to K,6

"Oh, how wonderful, more of those disgusting little buggers."

Zella moves up towards the goblins and their singer. As she does so, she begins to raise her own voice in song, chanting praise to Desna in an attempt to drown out the sound of the goblin singing.

Bless should still be up right? If so, the Zella is merely singing with no actual mechanical benefits other than to give people another song to listen to and hope it calms people.

In an instant Bellamy dashed forward, running past the wagon, across the mostly empty streets. His speed only increased with each step he took, once he was close to the podium he utilized the moment of sprint and launched himself through the air, in an attempt to land on the wooden structure and gain the benefit of higher ground against these foes.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 Okay, third 1 in a row, I don't know if I should laugh or cry.

Bellamy will move to G5 and attempt to jump onto the podium from there.

I think this would be round 7 of 10 for the Bless, Zella.

Female Human Bard

Ok, just wanted to double check with the couple rounds out of combat. Zella is just singing to sing then. Better to listen to than the warchanter. :)

Agreed. It's a catchy little tune, but it gets old after a couple repeats.

Surprise Round, Interim:

Bellamy races to the stage, but mistimes his jump. He barks his shin painfully on the stage, and is now prone on the stage. No hp damage.

Nover, fatigued from his energy expenditure in the previous fight, wearily sets his warhammer and waits for the inevitable goblin charge. The goblins happily oblige. Nover rears back and swings at the first comer:

Warhammer: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Nover delivers a crushing blow to the first goblin, staggering him, but the creature keeps coming, along with his fellows. They all take turns prodding at the tired dwarf:

Goblin 1 Charge Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Dogslicer damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Goblin 2 Charge Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Dogslicer damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Goblin 3 Charge Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Two of the creatures manage to sneak their blades past the dwarf's slow defenses, prompting an immodest flow of blood.

Herri maneuvers behind Nover while avoiding the goblin blades, laying his hand on Nover's shoulder. Nover feels his wounds knit together and his blood stop flowing.

Zella advances forward, taking advantage of the goblins' bloodlust to flank the one Nover had smashed. She whips her scarf forward, but her snap is off and the fabric just brushes against the goblin:

Bladed Scarf attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

The singing goblin rushes forward, placing her hand on her wounded comrade. HIS wounds knit together, the bruise from the warhammer fading:

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Updated Map

Note, I compressed the map, so the coordinates are different, just fair warning.

Quick question looking at the map. How am I being charged 3 times, it requires a straight line and nothing impeding. I can see two of the lines, the third one would have to end in the same space as the first one (Q3 and O3 would end in the same space M7).

Aww, I forgot about bless. Might have hit that goblin.

Elaina charges into the fray.

Charge goblin at L5. If L5 goes down, charge the warsinger. If that basket-lookin' thing in D7 prevents me from charging, move to F5 and begin Battledance.

Intimidate if attack hits: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 4 = 23
After charging, Temp AC is 12.

Nover, I would think O3 could have ended in L7, an unimpeded diagonal would have taken him to K7, a square further to the left.

Elaina, you would have still missed. I took the bless into consideration. :) Don't worry, the Law of Averages will catch up to you.

The good sheriff would be smiling now Thought Bellamy as he picked himself up, a smile appearing on his face despite the fall he took. It was a small price to pay to gain the advantage of height over his enemies "You have not seen what happened to your friends moments ago, no?" With a snap of his wrist, arcane energy, lined with a reddish hue flew towards the ground in an arc, and within moments left it with a grease like substance.

Move action to get up.

Grease on M4 and M5, DC 14 reflex saving throw.

Female Human Bard

Zella flicks her bladed scarf at the nearest goblin again, hopping to connect. Geez, how many more of these things are running around the town?

attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 2 + 1 = 19
damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5

Bellamy gets to his feet, then releases a portion of his sorcerous might at the goblins, making the footing treacherous:

Goblin 2 Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Goblin 3 Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Warchanter Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

The two 'regular' goblins lose their footing, but the spellcaster plants her feet and manages to stay up.

Nover sees his prone opponent in front of him and grins, finding the strength to draw back and attempt another smash:

Warhammer Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 + 1 + 4 = 11

His hammer smashes into the ground next to his goblin opponent, causing supernatural grease to splatter those nearby.

The two goblins that fell attempt to gain their feet, prompting reprisals from Zella and Nover:

Zella AOO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Nover AOO: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 7Seriously, I don't know what's going on here. lol

One goblin turns to swing at Zella, but she smoothly dodges aside, avoiding the blade:

Dogslicer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

The other two again stab at Nover, the non-greased goblin moving closer to flank. Their earlier momentum played out, they both only manage to clatter ineffectually against the dwarf's armor:

Dogslicer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Dogslicer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Elaina deftly dodges around obstacles, quickly closing with the goblin menace, but is off balance when she arrives and her swing goes over the head of the creature.

Herri moves forward, trying to protect Nover's blind side, and attempts to impale the creature in front of him with his sword, but the blade goes wide.

Zella again whips her arm forward, and is satisfied by the spray of blood and yell of pain from the goblin who just tried to impale her. The goblin manages to stay on his feet, though.

The singing goblin narrows her eyes, looking at Bellamy. She attempts to cloud his mind with confusion: Daze, DC 11

Bellamy Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Bellamy goes wide-eyed, wanting to move but too dazzled to do anything but stand there.

Updated Map

Sorry, been a long night at work, let's see what I can do here. Can I 5ft step and get away from multiple goblins? Forcing at least one of them to move out of the grease and possibly slip and fall if so I'll do that.

"Oh stop moving and taste my warhammer already goblin scum!"

Warhammer: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 There we go, that's what I'm talking about.

EDIT: No movement for me this turn, I'll just crush the one right in front of me. Didn't see the map yet.

Intimidate if attack hits: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 4 = 18

If that takes the goblin out, move 30ft to I3.

Zella moves up within reach of the singing goblin. Gah! I can't stand off key singers, no matter the song.

She will slash at it again. "Why don't you just shut up?!

attack: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 1 = 16
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Nover takes out his frustration on the goblin in front of him, smashing it full in the face with a powerful blow that rocks the goblin's head back at an unnatural angle.

The goblin squaring off with Zella and Elaina snarls at Zella, the blood on his face making a macabre mask as he lunges forward with his blade. His loss of blood affects his aim, and he misses badly:

Dogslicer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

The other goblin deftly moves to flank Nover, taking the opportunity presented by his slain fellow to swipe at the dwarf and is able to capitalize on his advantageous positioning!

Dogslicer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 + 2 for flank=18
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Elaina spins around nimbly and slaps out with the flat of her blade, braining the already-wounded goblin and putting him out of the fight. She then quickly shuffles ahead. The singing goblin takes an opportunity to strike at the graceful woman, getting inside her defenses for a painful slash on her toned leg!

Dogslicer: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Herri steps to cover Nover's flank, swinging at the goblin there but missing badly.

Zella steps to the side of Elaina, whipping her deadly scarf forward at the Warchanter. The goblin is up to the task, however, and avoids her attack.

The monstrous bard decides to swing at Elaina again, trying to put one of her assailants out of the fight. She nearly succeeds, the elusive woman taking another gash across the abdomen, nearly swooning from the blow.

Dogslicer: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

End of Round 2

2 Goblins down,
Nover takes 3
Elaina takes 9

Somehow I'm not surprised it's a 1.

Elaina staggers backwards with the latest blow, hand over the gash in her stomach. Blue light emanates from where her hand contacts the wound and the cuts on her stomach and thigh close up. She looks from her injury to the warcaller. "YOU RUINED MY DRESS!"
