Chuckle, Flynras found it, although he posted in the "gameplay" section vs the "discussion" section.
And now I remember that you can't easily create a character with -1xx or whatever... stupid really. Otherwise, I'd've made my Core characters all start with -1xx.
If the lack of a push function is too annoying, I'm not opposed to trying one of the other sites. Not certain this doesn't have one tho. Will look around.

I've never run a PbP before so it's going to be a huge learning experience.
Some things i've "learned" from somewhere is that no one is supposed to 'assume' any action from anyone else. (I'll probably break this rule quite a bit... neener neener.)
I have no idea how frequently we need to have posts ... every day? every other day?
What happens if someone skips a day? At some point i'd have to adjudicate their action/inaction.
The next encounter ... is liable to be quite complex... and a combination of easy and deadly...
Also, what did you do to get your Male Elf 'flag' in your post Nax?

When attempting to do things please include the relevant skill check:
Naxolel looks closely to see if there is any figure or object on the stone platform - he'd hate being ambushed on the other side or while in the middle...
Perception: 20 + 5(?) = 25
Cool, there is a dice roller:
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

so Jeremy, how do I add an avatar to Belle (I'd rather not randomly click as suggested by Joe)?
I believe that Joe has applied an avatar to his own messageboad settings. If I am correct, I believe that would display the same avatar regardless of what character you are currently posting as.
From looking through some of the active PbF games on this site, I noticed that people were using Aliases to represent their characters in those games.
Creating an alias is very similar to creating a PFS character.
1. Open your profile and find "Messageboard Aliases". Click "Create New Alias"
2. During the Alias creation, assign an Avatar.
3. After the Alias has been created, you will be able to add a Profile for the Alias that is nearly identical to the information you add when registering a new character.

Since you can't create an arbitrarily high character number I'd suggest going with an alias vice a character. (Sorry! I'd forgotten about the limitation).
Also, a little below the "submit post" button there is a "how to format your text: show" button that shows how to use the few tags that are available (including spoilers, dice roller, etc)
I'm going to give Drav an opportunity to post before I jump in with the boat shenanigans. :)

No 'rules'... per se. If I put a spoiler tag there's a reason. Whether the intent is 'private' information in the sense of the first spoiler i did for Bellasa or if it was information he couldn't know without an a successful perception check.
It's silliness to post and require a 'back and forth' when it's simple enough to post a spoiler... particularly when it's 'fun' information rather than important tactical information. Thus far the spoilers have merely been a bit of metagame information, that wouldn't matter in any way if you 'peeked'... and in fact i expected you to peek but to not 'metagame' and use any information you aren't supposed to know.
In the future, I'll try to make it obvious if/when I really don't want you to peek at any spoilers unless you honestly meet the criteria.
Sorry, I'm really learning and making things up as I go.
:)

I liked the first Perception, the second was hopelessly redundant, and the third was just plain silly.
I'm curious about something... testing to see... it looks like you can preview a dice roll, so you can know what it is and thus react 'appropriately' to whatever.
FYI: What I just did was previewed the dice roll after the first ellipse. Then added the "testing to see..." and re-previewed and the dice roll didn't change. Then added the last sentence thru "whatever." and again previewed and the dice roll didn't change. Finally, I added this FYI and re-previewed. I never edited the "dice command" merely typing in front of it.
testing: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Apologies. Don't let our playing around slow things down.
I think we are all in agreement that Drav is rowing one boat with Belle and Naxolel is rowing the other boat with Flynras.
Hopefully rowboats are easier to manage than sailing. (I personally can manage a rowboat, where a sailing vessel just confuses me to no end.)

Chuckle... no worries... this is a huge learning curve for all of us.
My number one goal is for everyone to continue having fun.
Beyond that it it's trying to keep the story 'flowing'. And when someone negates someone else's action it means, that now I have nothing to 'react' to. My role is to provide the world within which your characters exist... but (almost) nothing will happen without a trigger of some sort... thus far the encounters have been written such that the 'enemy' hasn't been actively seeking the party.
Beyond that I am attempting to 'fairly' kill challenge you while ensuring that I don't accidentally/unfairly kill you :)
| S.S. G.M. |
My post with the "FYI" and the "testing" dice roller above was an attempt to let you know that you can Preview a dice roll and know what it was and then react appropriately.
My intent with the spoiler tags was to let you know 'in advance' if you succeeded so you could react.
I'll consolidate in the other page.

Thanks for the follow up notes! I finally caught on to what you meant about previewing the dice rolls and the preview. Both are real important suggestions and will help with the flow! For the same reason, I'm trying to take advantage of the text formatting to highlight internal dialogue , external dialogue (speaking out loud) , and out of character questions, suggestions, and strategy.

I wasn't aware of a convention, yet... From now on then, then i'll go with dialogue in italics, actions in bold, and internal dialogue (so I can think narratively dammit!) in regular text. Anything else along the lines of pbf ettiquette?
Well, that is a convention on another site. I am not sure what the usual conventions are here.
I'll assume that Brighten has played a few PbFs on this site and attempt to modify my posting style to match his.

It appears from some other games that people do tend to use Bold for spoken out loud text.
You also apparently found the "ooc" tag for out of character stuff.
I am also apparently the last one to figure out that you can label your dice rolls in the token...
So, it appears Joe was using the usual convention for this site. I will switch to his style.

And I just realized I posted way out of turn. When the action gets down to me, what is currently posted is my most likely response, but i'll modify as needed based on others actions... I'm actually around tomorrow morning, so i'll keep an eye out for everyone's actions in the am. FYI, during the week, i'll definitely be offline by 0615 until approx 1900. I'm usually offline again after 2230....

Your AC was 19 (21 with cover) because you had only your rapier out.
Yes, When I reordered the Lacedons after they rolled initiative to make it easier for me i accidentally mixed up which lacedon's were attacking where.
I have now made a picture so I won't make that mistake again.

Brighten, after our near deaths it seemed like a good idea to build a backup character. I'll probably stick with a cleric or oracle to preserve the heals, but Any limitations on race? Are we sticking with the 20 point buy system for abilities? What level did you want them to start at, notionally (e.g., a level or half level behind, same as the dead characters)?
