Suggested Equipment
Each agent will have a $500.00 agency voucher for equipment and a $2,000.00 expense account for travelling costs. Some suggested equipment includes:
Weapons: Sporting rifle (with entry permit) which can be brokeown to a pistol by removing the stock and the barrel extension. (Weapon code: rifle - n, pistol - d
Hunting knife (Weapon code: jj), also with permit.
You should all come up with cover identities.

Well, if anything, I'll get a history lesson from this game while I research story lines. While looking up toy companies, I came across Ideal and this info from Wikipedia:
"For a short time, the company had a huge seller with the Magic Cube, which it imported from Hungary in 1980 and renamed Rubik's Cube" lol.

Wow, buying equipment is so open-ended. In addition to the $500 agency voucher, do we also have the $400 we normally start with?
You mention rifle -n. Looking at the book, it appears the cost is $325. Is that right? Also, do we need to do anything in particular to obtain the permit? Is there a cost?
How much do we need to worry about "General Outfitting" as listed in the book?
Anyone have any ideas on equipment? Given our available funds, it would appear we have to work together to buy what we will need. I can get a 35mm camera. We could also use handcuffs, a lockpick set, makeup kit. What type of communications equipment should we get? I'm not sure what we need that we can afford and that we can get into the country.

The permits are included. The rifle would be a hunting rifle so the one that makes the most sense would be the Lee-Enfield rifle bolt action which is $275.
This is a spy mission, maybe you should all have pistols. A camera is good so you can make a fake passport for the defector. $400 can be for general equipment that you would normally have, within reason, the $500 for anything you need for the mission. Take the $400 for general outfitting.

BTW: Are we going to spend the game with the players having to do google searches to prove that something should be widely known during the time period of the game? IE: Bloody Mary drinks (which were created in the 20's and 30's)? Or is the GM going to insist the players have a functional knowledge of what drinks were popular during the 60's in small countries?

At this point the three of you cover more ground alone than together, but you are trying to find the potential defector and you don't have a lot of time. You also are going to need to "clock" the opposition so as to come up with how to get the defector alone and get him out of the country.

Sorry everyone, new contract, and I have to drive 4 hours to reach it Monday and 4 hours to get home Friday. Was sick Thursday, so all in all, sucky week. Should get better next week, and the week after. Got a hotel room for the whole month now, so I can drive in on Sunday nights and back on Saturday mornings, meaning I'll get more rest and not have any more 14 hour days. Had 33 hours Wednesday evening before getting sick.

*sigh*
Monday : Work
Tuesday : Sick
Wednesday : Sick
Thursday : Sick but still worked, behind on work
Friday : Worked, father sent to hospital, Drive 4 hours
Saturday : Father sent home (dehydrated from not drinking liquids, didn't want to 'go to the bathroom every 5 minutes' so blood pressure spiked)
Sunday : Ran around all day getting rental cars switched out, 4 hour drive to Dallas changed to 6 hour drive due to rain and car accidents
Monday : Behind from last week, work, plus work at hotel after work on second client
Tuesday : Behind from last week, work, plus work at hotel after work on second client
Wednesday : dead in the water, still behind, client killed my login to their system, waiting on it to get fixed. Hooked up tether to phone, posted here. Client's system blocks the Paizo site.

Well, like you said, we need at least 1 more, so we should start there. Given how early it is in the adventure, we can see if the new person(s) can catch up otherwise we can start over. I'll admit, this being my first time playing Top Secret, I'm having a hard time getting into it. I guess I'm used to PFS where you're a little more rail-roaded on what to do.

Sorry for my delay.
What are the stats on a match pistol?
I would like 2 cans of mace hidden in lipstick containers.
Could I get a large, heavy flashlight that could be used as a billy club?
How about a sleeping capsule hidden in a bottle of perfume?
A stiletto
A switchblade hidden in the bottom of my purse

April Thyme |

I'll take a can of mace in a lipstick container in addition to the flashlight.
Since we have the same occupation listed in our cover passports, I think we should travel together. Might seem strange otherwise. However, that doesn't mean we can't split up.
How long is the train ride?
How about I take a seat in C4 (the first sitting compartment by the bar) by the door facing the bar so that I can see anyone going in or out of the bar area?
Maybe you can take the last sleeping compartment. It's by the bathrooms and doesn't have a connecting room. Might be more private than the others.
