Arcane Strike and spell like abilities

Advice

Can you use arcane Strike if you have SP abilities, a caster lvl but no actual spell list eg. variant multiclass sorcerer feat chain? Would be nice for my character if it's legal.

The requirement for arcane strike is the ability to cast arcane spells, there is an FAQ that cays spell like abilities do not count as spell casting for pqs. Not relevant here, but the exception is a feat or whatnot tha calls for a specific spell, such as dimension door, a spell like ability for that spell will satisfy the requirement.

So,no arcane strike unless you can cast legimate spells.

you used to be able to due to the nature of a faq that allowed SLAs to satisfy general spell casting requirements for things like prestige classes, but they later reverted that decision.

So no, no arcane strike just for having an SLA.

Thanks for the clarification

pity . there goes the arcane strike for alchemists who have gnome sla spells
