The wheel of time spins (can you handle it?)

Recruitment

The forces of darkness are closing in around the pinpricks of light. The farther away the lights are from each other, the darkness grows ever greater and on wards to victory.

And yet, all is not lost, for though there are 3 bright stars in the sky above, there are still smaller stars that fight, all in an effort to prevent the darkness from consuming the light.

This is the story of those smaller lights in the darkness.

If youre a fan of the Wheel of Time series, and you understood the reference above, then this is the game for you. a link to the current story line

What i am looking for is 4-6 players to help bring this story to life. When you read the books, was there a person or type that you wished you could play? Perhaps the full fledged aes sedai? or an Asha'man? perhaps the Blademaster? Or an Ogier tree singer? What about something more extreme, like a tinker channeler, or a seafarer? What about the wolfbrother?

While I use the wheel of time RPG book for the classes, the majority of our rules are based off of Paizo and some home rules.

campaign setting: middle of book 7

Attributes: 25 points
starting level: 10
Starting HPs: Max
Feat progression: as Pathfinder
Skill progression: as pathfinder
Starting Money: max

you may roll for a special angreal item, be it a ter'angreal, an angreal, or sa'angreal. Roll a d100, 1-75, nothing. 76-90 a ter'angreal. 91-98, an angreal, 99-100, a sa'angreal. all items will be of my choosing.

here is the netbook "under the dragons banner"
this is a free document that was created a few years ago by some people who loved the RPG and enhanced its flavoring. we utilize this as well

This sounds interesting. I have read all but last book. Even its been a while since i last read the series.

Asha'man
Seachan
Aiel (think thats how you spell it)

If i take leadership, my cohort can either be bonded person or one of the collared ones.

But it will take a few days to build him/her to fit. But yes. Count me in

YES! Favorite book series of all time.

Not familiar with the rpg but will learn. Blademaster, asha'man, warder, all sound so cool. Hmm what to be.

hmmmm....seth86, that would be an interesting thing, being a full sul'dam with a damanae. very interesting indeed.

bane88...how bout an ogier blademaster?

That sounds tight, I was thinking about multiclassing into Ashaman, but looking at your player list, it seems that you have plent of channelers, can ogier be bound as warders?

Throwing it together now though. Reading up on the rules online.

Would it be possible in the story to be a deathwatch guard Gardener? Maybe exiled?

we are heavy on the channelers, but we only have one male channeler, but i havent heard from him yet, so its possible that that slot could be opened.

as for the deathwatch gardener, its possible inside this alternate world.

Do we use WBL as per pathfinder?

Also, as a Seanchan Ogier, can I wave the feat restrictions given to that species as a peace loving kind. Otherwise I have to spend all my bonus feats just to get proficiency in anything.

In your game does keen and Imp Crit stack?

Here is my WIP Ogier Blademaster. Crunch pretty done, working on backstory.

Im thinking taking a martial class with a few levels of nobel to be a

Der'sul'dam. or just noble levels. For flavour. and have a level 8 dai'dore 3:)

just as an FYI, chen, the blademaster isnt a PrC anymore. instead its a skill that you take and advance in. there is a large block of info on it in the UtDB netbook in my second posting. a lot of good stuff in it, and itll allow you to continue as an armsman or something else.

Yes, that restriction can be removed, so long as you post in your PC that you are a seanchan ogier.

Ok all fixed, got the skills for sword forms figured out, got some heavy armor.

I don't know what exactly is going on in the story, but Chen is an 130 year old Gardener and blademaster feared by the blood. Friend to Harka and sometimes called the blade of the Empress (though never to his face nor in the company of the blood.) Chen was sent with the Return's very small contingent of Deathwatch guards, due to their usual place at the side of the Crystal Throne. He was the only Gardener to go as well.

you know, i think we could say that bane's character and seth's pc know each other, since both are seanchan in origin.

sent you a PM chen with some tweaks to your pc.

Alright can you recheck? I think I fixed it. I can use pathfinder feats right?

looks good so far. just some minor tweaks. we will have to remove the +3 bastard sword, and all the master work items. If you recall in the WOT, masterwork items are very rare.

part of the problem is with me. i didnt specify a total amount of money available for purchasing equipment. this is difficult to do, especially in this setting. while it is possible to get masterwork items, even a 10th level pc couldnt afford everything masterwork. so, i will let you pick 2 items to be masterwork.

now, the bastard sword. i am going to say that we will have you roll for that, because those types of items are usually well guarded, or kept within a family, and not just available. Since you are a member of the deathwatch guard, i will say that you have access to a +1 powerwrought blade, but i will let you roll for that +3.
roll a d100, on a 01-85%, you have access to a +2 blade. 86-98 its a +3 blade, 99-100, its has an extra component of my choosing.

I figured that, but hoped I would have a chance as a swordmaster! Which is the fluff of my sword, a large single edged sword.

1d100 ⇒ 62

Yes, you can use pathfinder feats, but some of them are subject to my approval. The reasoning behind this to help keep the feel of the WOT world within this game.

You still have a bastard sword, just one at a +2 bonus.

Also, keen and imp crit dont stack.

Like i said, we use the books to help form the groundwork, but if its found in pathfinder, we use pathfinder rules.

The way I have it set up now (will change it to +2) Is a +3 Power Wrought Swordmaster(+1 crit rang) Bastard Sword. So it would be 2d8 x2 19-20 down to 17-20 from improved crit down to 16-20 from Heron Mark Blade.

That sound good?

I want to say yes, but i need to double check the wotrpg in the morning.

ok. double checked it. im going to allow the heron marked blade and its increased crit range. But, if i see that it's too over powered, ill remove the increased crit range option.
