Weapon Swap in PFS?

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Please excuse my question if the answer is a bit obvious. I worte up my first PFS character as a cleric (Erastil). After two scenarios I decided that ranger was a better fit for the flavor of my character, so I re-wrote his sheet as a ranger.

Here is my mini-dilemma. After session one I purchased a masterwork heavy mace (312 GP). This fit the cleric build. As a ranger, I want to take advantage of wartial weapon proficiency. My character's background is that of an experienced woodsman, so I was leaning towards an axe.

In your experience, would you allow a character to "swap" weapons and pay the difference?

Of ocurse, I could sell the mace and then buy an axe - maybe that's a price I need to pay for changing my mind, but I really hate to lose 156 GP since at low levels saving for that next enhancement bonus is tough.

Also, is there any reason my backup weapon should be mwk? I currently do about 50/50 melee/ranged and the extra +1 to hit really seems to come in handy.

Thanks.

Derek, there's a general rule, and a special exception.

The general rule is, no. If your fifth-level paladin decides that his masterwork shortsword isn't doing the job and wants to swap to a masterwork longsword, he needs to sell the shortsword for half price and buy the longsword for full.

The special exeption is that you can change things up at 1st level. Until you enter the briefing room at the beginning of your first second level scenario, you can "re-build", and fiddle with anything on your sheet until you're happy with it. Keep track of the difference in expense between a longsword and shortsword, but otherwise, just replace one weapon purchase with another.
