DR (and)

Rules Questions

When Damage Reduction has two things. And there separated by "and" does that mean that the weapon has to meet both things.

Example:

DR 15/bludgeoning and magic
DR 10/good and magic

I believe so, but I'm not certain.

yes

I though so. Thanks.

Actually one more things.

It's all or nothing right?

A few other creatures require combinations of different types of attacks to overcome their damage reduction (such as “magic and silver”), and a weapon must be both types to overcome this type of damage reduction. A weapon that is only one type is still subject to damage reduction.

Ubercroz is correct, ya need both.

And yeah, all or nothing.

yes to that as well.

Its what makes it hard to kill higher CR monsters.

The only thing to that I home rule adjust is DR/Magic, each + bypasses a commensurate DR 5/Magic. So DR 20/Magic needs a +4 sword to penetrate- and those have to be enhancement bonuses, not +1 holy flaming defender.
