Medium witch familiars

what are the witches options for a medium animal that a small (gnome or halfling) witch can use as a mount?

Choose a small familiar (maybe with imp. familiar) and enlarge it ..

You take improved familiar to get a Quasit, who can polymorph into a wolf. An imp works too.

Or a homonculus, when you build it spend an extra 6 grand on it and it is permanently set at size medium.

You can the wear the homunculus as armor, ride it, or put weapons on it. It is a fun, powerful, adaptable, but expensive familiar.
