Howard respects Eldarius' decision, and helps him to make the move to Maheto, smoothing over all of the necessary purchases, documentation, and literally moving. He is also extremely happy with his selection of Chronicles, making sure that they are appropriately catalogued, and added to the Archives. He then sets about assembling some cloning vats in his private sanctum...
Howard nods gravely. Elder Thing:
"Lowls certainly was that. Fortunately, his soul has now been consigned to whatever afterlife it deserved." He then smiles. Elder Thing:
"Yes, my library is certainly a source of pride. It is open, by appointment, to all who are interested in trading knowledge, provided they remain peaceful with the other visitors, do not harm the books, and aren't on some scheme to weaken the fabric of the multiverse." Howard then grow thoughtful. Elder Thing: "Well, when it comes to the future, I do have a few mid- to long-term plans; I still need to finish settling Eldarius' family on the Prime, I am helping a collective of Vooniths in the Dreamlands to set-up an industrialised society, and I have some heavy-duty crafting left to do, to make inter-planar communication and transport a bit easier. There is also the long-term matter of sorting out how to make sure that I will always be able to look after the library. I have some musings in that direction, but I will stress that it has nothing to do with lichdom - I am quite content to stay living!"
Howard nods. Elder Thing: "Well, I spent my time trying to track down Lowls, and undoing the messes that he created. For example, in Cassomir, I uncovered a nest of Derro slavers and skin-stealers, whilst in Katheer, I helped reset the wards in the Mysterium, and cleaned-up the chaos left there after Lowls stole a copy of the Necronomicon. In Okeno, I rescued a bunch of slaves, including a mind-swapped Yithian, and whilst in Neruzavin, I cleansed a great evil from the ruins, and then chased Lowls to Carcosa, where I finally dealt with him permanently.
Along the way, I have had the opportunity to help any number of sentients - for example, Hosbagh, an Otyugh stranded in Neruzavin, whom I helped get back home; Havigan, a human close to death from fungal corruption, whom I restored, and became good friends with; Lord Eldarius and his family, whom I converted back to life from undeath; and, of course, Blaayjhan and Phylnimaar, whom I rescued from Carcosa, with as much of the library there as we could carry, after destroying the Mutate. That is far from an exhaustive list, of course; there were many others."
Howard gives Costello a pained smile. Elder Thing:
"My father was a brilliant playwright in Ustalav, but he was always lost in worlds of his own creation, and had little time for his flesh-and-blood family. When my mother died, he became even more distant, and I was essentially left to fend for myself; emotionally, if not entirely physically." He then nods Abbott. Elder Thing: "Well, when you are trying to research half-forgotten lore, you can sometimes not be aware of the full character of the 'scholars' that you are put in contact with. Lowls promised me valuable lore in exchange for service, and I jumped at the chance. Unfortunately, he saw me as little more than an expendable resource, and tried to murder me in the Dreamlands, leaving me in a fugue state, which I was only gradually able to snap out of; it was only once I retraced my steps in the Dreamlands, that I was able to regain all of my memories..."
Howard nods. Elder Thing: "Excellent question, Abbott. The proximal cause would be my unhappy childhood, which led me to value knowledge, particularly about far-away places, planes, and beings, as a form of scapism; the distal cause, of course, would be getting involved in the plans of a madman as a result of my quest for knowledge, who sundered my memories, and set me on a long path to vengeance, which also involved rediscovering myself."
Howard has the grace to look impressed. Elder Thing:
"You were right. This is indeed an impressive place!" He then settles down to give his long-promised interview.
Howard chew his lip thoughtfully. "Well, if it is the place that I am thinking of, I have been there before, and it is indeed a grand settlement... I can at least Greater Teleport there, and hopefully find a map. If it is indeed too far away to travel easily, I can always create a Permanent Teleportation Circle here, and another in a modest house there, which I would purchase for you, allowing the two-way transfer of goods. You would, however, need to be certain that this is definitely where you want to keep your burgeoning settlement; once created, I can't change the Teleportation Circles destinations."
Howard smirks. Elder Thing:
"That is easy to fix!" He then casts Blood Money and Limited Wishes for a Veil, so that he appears 'normal'. Elder Thing:
"What do you think? Will this work?"
Howard nods. "Well, there you are - that is one possibility to explore. It won't happen over night, of course, but things that are worth building, take time..."
Howard grins, enjoying the incongruity of it all, but also pleased that there was a solution that Maria was happy with.
Howard shrugs. Elder Thing:
"Whichever you think would look better as a backdrop, and help boost the number of viewers. You are the ones with the media presence, after all..."
Howard raises a placating hand. "It's okay, Kaa - I was just teasing Nestor. To be more specific, if your people would prefer not to mine (which would involve a lot of dirty work, away from water), the only other way to get it is via trade. As I am sure you are aware, in order to trade, you need to have something that another party wants. So, for example, you could trade your excess fish stocks in a nearby town, for either raw iron (which you could work yourselves), or for finished products. The real trick to getting ahead in the marketplace, however, is to corner the market on something - find something that only you can produce (or that only you can produce easily), which will therefore garner a higher price; to go with the earlier example, if you, say, bred-up large quantities of a particularly rare fish, or other river-dwelling creatures, that would garner a better price than more common fish."
Howard nods. "Pulchrum satis. Et source in officinarum, et ad eam possit docere artes necesse est." Azlanti:
"Fair enough. I'll source the construct, and you can teach it the necessary skills." The following day, he then makes a brief run to Armun Kelish...
...and finds precisely the right construct to meet his needs, which he dutifully takes back for Maria to teach. --------------
Once both sides have stood down / backed off, Howard then turns to Abbott and Costello. Elder Thing:
"Right then. Where shall we go to do the interview? it may take a while..." --------------
Howard grins at Nestor. "Right then... Shall we give the a crash-course in capitalism, distance networks, and small market economics?"
Howard grins. "Well, no-one expects an industrial revolution over night; it will take time! I am, however, quite impressed with what you have managed to achieve thus far. It is worth noting, however, that mining is cramped, dirty, and (above all) destructive work. That said, with the application of a little magic, it can become a bit easier... I am sure that we can pass on the essentials of iron-working; you will just need to be careful... wood does tend to burn easily, after all, unless you take the proper precautions..."
Janira:
It will take me some time to generate sufficient duplicates, which will undoubtedly give you time to check me out. Shall I call when done? -------------------- Howard nods thoughtfully to Maria. "Pulchrum satis. Sed si aliquem ex familia crudelitate laborare mihi ego credo et aedificabo tortor, sicut agricola. Non impono super vos ipsos instituendi, aut saltem a consequat libro providere? Scio me esse contentus esto gloria, et scio esse me iuvat vestra convivae et permanere coctione in aliquo modo post vos usque in Eldarius non movetur." Azlanti:
"Fair enough. Well, it would be cruel for me to take someone away from their family to work for me, so I suppose I shall build a replacement, like my gardener. Could I impose upon you to train them, or at least provide a recipe book? I know that I would be honored, and I know that my guests will be delighted to have your cooking continue on in some fashion, even after you and Eldarius have moved on." --------------------
Howard frowns. "Wel, sut oeddent i fod i wybod bod y diriogaeth hon yn cael ei hawlio, pan fyddwch chi'n cuddio fel hynny? Roeddent o'r farn mai dim ond adfeiliad wedi'i adael i archwilio hyn oedd hwn; nid oedd ganddynt unrhyw syniad eu bod yn tueddu!" Aklo: "Well, how were they supposed to know that this territory was claimed, when you hide like that? They thought that this was simply an abandoned ruin to explore; they had no idea that they were trespassing!"
Howard places another Sending to Janira. Janira:
"Tomes on the Society, or ancient history. I am creating a record for the ages. I will be there, promptly, with many tomes." He then spends the rest of the day using Scrivener's Chant to copy enough books to pack all of his extradimensional spaces, and heads to the Grand Lodge at the appointed time. ---------- Howard gives Hosbagh a parting wave. "Welcome home. I hope it is peaceful for you." ---------- When he returns home, he presents the options available to Eldarius, seeing what he would prefer.
---------- Spotting the Yetis, Howard growls at them. "Mae Abbott a Costello dan fy amddiffyniad. Os ydych chi'n golygu eu bod yn niweidio, dylech wthio yn awr. Dyma'ch unig rybudd - os byddwch chi'n ymosod, byddaf yn golchi'r eira yn eich gwaed." Aklo:
"Abbott and Costello are under my protection. If you mean them harm, you should push off now. This will be your only warning - if you attack, I will bathe the snow in your blood." ---------- With Kaa, Howard smiles. "It is good to see you again, my friend! I am glad to see that your people are getting organised; you deserve the chance to build your own society, so that Voonith culture has a chance to flourish." With Nestor, he bows. "Thank-you for taking the time to help them. It is very good of you." When the statue is mentioned, Howard has the grace to look slightly embarrassed, but quickly recovers. "I am just glad that I have managed to have such a lasting, positive impact upon them; despite all the tragedy, and narrowly-averted disaster, it is a beautiful thing to know that I have helped, in some small way, to help create something good."
Howard sends Janira another Sending. Janira:
"Yes, I am interested in an exchange of lore. I am happy to bring a representative here, or go to the Grand Lodge." --------- Once he has reset to 'Golarion', Howard Greater Teleports as close to Hosbagh as he can, and then goes looking for her, pleased to see that the ruins are no longer a haunted place. When he finds Hosbagh, he casts Invisibility on her, and then Greater Teleports both of them to Cassomir, taking her to the closest sewer entrance (assuming that is what she is after). --------- Since he is already in Taldor, he then (in his human form) goes looking for appropriate properties for Eldarius' family. --------- After contacting Abbott and Costello, he Plane Shifts and Greater Teleports to their location, ready to fill them in on his adventures, giving them a sizeable scoop for the Lonely Planet line. --------- Thereafter, he Gates to Kaa's location, ready to spend some time with him and the others, happy to see that he had a positive influence on their society, by introducing them to the concept of farming. --------- When Eldarius' makes his comment about the cooking, Howard nods thoughtfully. "Well, I could acquire another Awakened Clockwork Ssservant, or I could make a Sssimulacrum of Maria, if ssshe would not mind...? That sssaid, I could underssstand if the latter option felt a bit weird to her."
Howard is initially a little surprised by just how popular his library is; he had not expected ElderChat to in such wide use, with so many species. However, given that he is hardly one to judge a book by his cover, he quickly recovers, and welcomes all of his guests as best he can, growing quite content as the library continues to grow as a place of knowledge. ------------ When Delmaria finally summons her new companion, Howard couldn't be happier; now she has a true friend, who will be with her for life. ------------ Howard is extremely pleased with the success of Havigan and Amrivast's book, knowing that it will help to set them up for life. He gratefully accepts the donated tomes from the good-aligned churches, noting that if they should ever wish to visit his Library, he is only a Sending away. When he hears of the legal block that Amrivast's lawsuit encountered, however, he is far from surprised, knowing all too well how hopeless a task it was in the first place. Still, at least Amrivast will hopefully be able to give many other children a decent chance at a good life. ------------ Over the course of several days, Howard sends off a series of Sendings. "I enjoy having you here, and I know all of the visssitorsss love Maria'sss cooking; but I alssso ssstill recall sssaying that I would help your family find their own place. Would you like me to ssstart looking around for a sssuitable property in Taldor?"
Howard nods. Elder Thing:
"That sounds fair." After lunch, he smiles apologetically to Maria. "Paenitet, experiar melius futurum. Pro censu, ut non simus ultra visitors in futurum, ut verbi tui scientia creverit macula in culina - in vestri cibo diversi generis multa nimis." Azlanti: "Sorry about that, I'll try to be more clear in the future. For the record, we may have more visitors in the future, as word of your skill in the kitchen spreads - they like your food very much."
Howard looks thoughtful. Elder Thing:
"Hmmm... How about we start with 10, and see how things go from there?" He then bows to Maria. "Jejjerrod est amicus amborum. Et venit visitare; et research sunt in bibliothecam; ut pars mea reaosn quare veni de via ad exciperent extra clausi commeatus meo ultimo itinere - quod nobis necessaria sciebam eos." Azlanti: "This is Jejjerrod, a friend of the other two. He has come to visit, and research in the library; that is part of the reaosn why I went out of my way, to pick up extra supplies on my last trip - I knew that we might need them."
Howard nods. "Scientes quod non omne, quod primus gradus sapientiae et veri." Azlanti:
"Knowing that you do not know everything, is the first step to true wisdom." When Jejjerrod makes his suggestion, Howard grins. Elder Thing: "Hmm... You make a valid point; the Spectacles would certainly be extremely useful, to enable easier use of the collection, and the earrings would certainly help with communication, as long as there is some shared polyglot."
Howard nods, and translates. "Aberrant Bibliotheca inire velint vitam inde, aliaque omnia transigendum." Azlanti:
"They would like to start in the Library of Aberrant Life, and from there, move on to all of the other rooms." He then grins. "Ego numquam petita est scire omnia, et locus est creatum, in partem, ut in eiusdem notitiam mei, et aliorum, qui aliquo sunt illuminationes, quaerere multis subiectis." Azlanti:
"I have never claimed to know everything, and this place is being created, in part, to further my knowledge, and that of others who seek enlightenment on any number of subjects." Howard then turns to Jejjerrod, and pipes: Elder Thing:
"That is an excellent idea. I am afraid that I only have a card catalogue, at present, but that *should* hopefully make your task easier..." He then moves to usher them back downstairs, in search of the others, so he can set-up the first tableaux.
Howard nods to Jejjerrod. Elder Thing:
"I agree, it is good to be prepared. Amadeus is eager to start; what scenes would you like him to capture for you?" He then turns to Amadeus. "Ad esse honestum, ego non totaliter esse certo pressius modo operatur, sed non est dubium quod habet rationem indicavit mihi." Azlanti: "To be honest, I am not entirely sure precisely how it works, but I have no reason to doubt what he has told me."
Howard nods. Elder Thing:
"Probably a wise move; for society's that aren't on the direct gold standard, local currency can be quite important..." He then turns to Amadeus. "Bene, ad responde quaestiones tuo: hoc est advenæ Jejjerrod eius Elder Rerum homines, et ponere a real-time multi-suggestus database notitia et notitia, quae sint inter se addere possunt alii qui volunt te videre. Jejjerrod in causa est, non posse velle ostendere quod alii loco isto vultus amo. Et super haec ipse praecepit mihi, ut diceret se quidem promptus est reddere unicuique scena 200gp hoc postulante impetrari." Azlanti: "Well, to answer your questions: This new arrival is Jejjerrod, his people are Elder Things, and they maintain a real-time multi-platform information database, to which they are each able to add information that they want others to see. In Jejjerrod's case, he wants to be able to show the others what this place looks like. Moreover, he has instructed me to say that he is willing to pay 200gp for each scene that he requests."
Harold shrugs. Elder Thing:
"I'll take your word for it. Although I am a quick study, certain aspects of your technology are still fairly foreign to me." Once upstairs in the Garden, seeing that Amadeus is concentrating hard, he clears his throat loudly. "Joseph? Ego novi visitor hic. Et hoc non defuit demiplane Commissio quaedam tabulae, vir bonus et durus es artifex, et cogitavi ut animadverto si vos potest facere aliquid tempted imaginibus. Cras tentatis si vult ut ipse picturas datorum fasciculos ad magica, vt quid populus hic est. Et hoc erit questus sicco illic operis vestri, ut videatur ab innumero me sentients." Azlanti: "Amadeus? I have a new visitor here. He was wanting to commission some paintings of this demiplane, and I knew you were a good artist, so I thought I would see whether you could be tempted to do some pictures. If it helps to tempt you, he wants the pictures so that he can upload them to a magical database, so that his people can see what this place is like. You would be getting your work out there, to be seen by countless sentients."
Howard nods. "Thisss isss Jejjerrod, an acquaintance of Blaayjhan and Phlnimaar, who wissshesss to sssee what we managed to recover from the Archivesss." He then turns to Jejjerrod. Elder Thing: "The quadruped is Amrivast, the biped with him is Havigan. They know Elder Thing. The other biped is Eldarius, someone else that I rescued from Carcosa. He does *not* speak your language, but he does know several others, including Aklo, if that helps."
Howard smiles, and nods, gratefully accepting the book. Elder Thing:
"Thank-you. I will make sure that it is properly catalogued. I appreciate the assistance in making it easier for others to contact me in the future." Once out of the Golden Circle, he then Plane Shifts the trio back to his demiplane, and prepares the introductions.
Howard smiles, and nods. Elder Thing:
"That is quite true. I simply found that I preferred the more... direct... approach. I suppose it came from not wanting to be hurt deeply ever again. By all means, feel free to make copies; they were your people's records first, after all. I am simply seeking to build a repository of Knowledge, that will become known across the planes." His smile widens. Elder Thing:
"Well, that is the ultimate plan, in any case; it is good to dream big, I think. I only ask that those who visit, and wish to make copies, bring some text of their own, as well, so that it can be added to the greater archives." When he is offered the cell phone, he accepts it carefully, and delicately looks it over, trying to become as familiar as possible with its functionality. Elder Thing:
"Thank-you. I am sure that this will make it a lot easier to keep in contact with you all, and make it much simpler for you to log an access request." Howard then settles down to enjoy the meal.
"Good, good. Just keep trying; that is the main thing..."
Howard bows politely, shakes the proferred tentacle, and then pulls out his pipe. Elder Thing:
"Greetings, Jejjerrod. I have no problem with you bringing what I presume is your Eidolon with you. The library is open to all, as long as they respect the sanctity of the library, and honor the fact that it is neutral ground for all visitors. How was your trip?" He then settles down to try the food, indicating that he would be happy to try the Horchata.
Howard takes on board the suggestions, and makes sure the garden is stocked with the correct plants, as well as setting aside a large section as a 'free range' chicken run, and a small dairy yard. When Havigan gives him the description, Howard commits it to memory. "Thank-you." Eyeing Amrivast, he smiles sadly. "Well, he wasss technically killed twice in under a minute... that isss bound to take it out of you. I am sure that he will appreciate the dinner." When Delmaria has trouble concentrating, Howard nods. "It can be difficult, essspecially if you are trying to break through on your own; it took me monthsss to have my epiphany. Luckily, I can guide you part of the way. Clossse your eyesss, think of yourssself in a place where you have been happy; focusss on that memory, and explore it, to find your center... once you truly know yourself, you can open up, and explore the threadsss of the universsse around you, to find another thread that resssonatesss with the sssame harmoniesss asss your own. That will be your new friend."
In the morning, Howard finishes some long-needed upgrades.
He then expands his demiplane twice over with Greater Create Demiplane, firstly to expand the guest quarters (with a spiral staircase going down from the middle of the existing guest room, to multiple identical lower levels), and secondly to create a door from the kitchen, to an 'outdoor' sub-level, which is currently just bare earth, and a large empty depression. He then clarifies with his Elder Thing guests if there are any other food-stuffs of which they are particularly fond, and asks the same thing of Havigan, and his other Human guests, as well as Amrivast. Howard then casts Create Demiplane, this time to make it bountiful, with neat rows of whatever plants his guests particularly enjoy (including a small vineyard), as well as filling the depression with water to form a large fish-pond, and stocking a dovecote.
Weary from his labor, he then takes another nap up in his Garden , then spends some time with Delmaria, trying to teach her some basic meditation techniques, before preparing for his meeting with Jejjerrod.
Howard nods, and pipes back. Elder Thing:
"Of course! I am sure that it will be quite useful." With Havigan, he smiles uncomfortably. "Yesss... Well... I did not alwaysss look thisss way; before my awakening to my true potential, I looked (mossstly) human, apart from my eyes..." With Amrivast, he smiles wanly. "Well, I wouldn't try to dissssssuade you from a cause that you consssider jussst; I sssimply wanted you to be forewarned asss to sssome of the challengesss that you will undoubtedly face."
Howard nods, and pipes a response. Elder Thing:
"Certainly. That would give me time to sort out a few things here, and I do need to offload a few things in Armun Kelisk." With Eldarius he smiles sadly. "Crede mihi molestum sit non omnino." Azlanti:
"Believe me, it is no trouble at all." With Amrivast, he holds up his hands in mock-surrender. "Alright, alright. You have made your point. I am jussst noting that it will likely be difficult." Howard then turns to Havigan. "Fair enough. I suppossse I can underssstand why they might be a bit nervousss if sssomeone like me jussst ssshowed up out of nowhere." He then grins, when he hears to chorus of protests. "Ssso noted. The offer isss ssstill on the table, though, if you ever change your mind." A shadow then passes over Howard's face. "In Ussstalav? You want to ssset up there? By all meansss, do ssso, jussst... be careful. Sssome of the localsss have a tendency to form mobsss firssst, and asssk quessstionsss later, if at all, essspecially when it comesss to obviousss non-humanoidsss; they know all too well the horrorsss (sssuch asss vampiresss and werewolvesss) that infessst their country (and, in sssome areasss, tacitly rule it), and immediately judge all thingsss by thossse ssstandardsss."
Howard nods, then pipes a response. Elder Thing:
"Well, you are certainly more than welcome to stay. As for Jejjerrod, of course he can come and visit! The library that I seek to build here will be open for all sentients, so long as they do no harm to the collection, or to any other guests, and are not seeking to weaken the fabric of the cosmos." He then grins. Elder Thing:
"The next time I expand my demiplane, I'll try to include a small plantation of those beans that you like so much." When Eldarius makes his protestations, Howard shakes his head. "Crede mihi, tu mihi debes nec quicquam. Si tua familia vivere in administrare (secundum quid) ordinaria vivendi beatam vitam, ut et praemium satis est mihi. Sicut ego gaudeo, quod de insania, entropy et Carcosa desperandum est, quia ego bonus sum managed aliquid esse salutem neque."[/spoiler] Azlanti:
"Believe me, you do not owe me anything. If you and your family manage to live a (relatively) normal, happy life, that will be reward enough for me. I am just glad that out of the madness, entropy, and despair that is Carcosa, I have managed to salvage something good." With Amrivast and Havigan, he nods. "Fair enough. I appreciate your intention to file sssuit againssst my father, but I honestly doubt it will come to much (not that I doubt your resssolve, in the ssslightessst!); within the local operatic world, he holdsss a lot of sssway, and influential friendsss/admirersss tend to mean more in Ussstalav, than the technical rule of law. Ass for the Sssociety, well, I am more than happy to essstablisssh my credentialsss with them; I feel that we would have much to offer each other." He then grins. "Oh, I didn't say that you *were* an old married couple although with the magic currently at my command, it could certainly be arranged..." Howard's grin widens. "Do you think Havigan would look better with four legs and a mane, or would Amrivast look better on two legs...?" His expression then becomes more serious. "That said, I meant what I said. You have both been true friends and traveling companions, and as long as it is in my power to do so, I will do what I can to aid you in the future, should you ever need it... and even if you don't, I will still visit every so often."
Howard nods to his Elder Thing guests, and pulls out his pipe to reply. Elder Thing:
"I am glad to hear that you were able to get into contact with your people. Do you still wish to spend some time here, or do you wish to join them? As for the threat I spoke of, Carcosa was trying to draw our planet into its grasp... but we managed to fight it off." With Eldarius, he smiles. "Etiam non superabundet; summa medii commodius quam verae nobilitatis. Adhuc: Si essem ego magis sentio certus ut vestri familia recte erant imbecillo corpore, tum cum maxime habes pedibus vestris. Insulate opes potest ab aliqua difficultates, post omnes." Azlanti:
"Well, they aren't too lavish; more comfortable upper middle class, than true nobility. Still, I would feel better if I was sure that you and your family were properly taken care of, especially whilst you find your feet. Wealth can insulate you from some problems, after all." When Havigan and Amrivast note that they don't need a cash infusion, Howard nods. "Fair enough. I jussst didn't want you to think that I wasss leaving you with nothing. The sssame holdsss true for you two - if you ever need help, jussst call; I will probably pop in every ssso often to check on you, in any case. We wouldn't want you becoming even more like an old married couple, after all...", he says, with an impish grin. "That sssaid, if you would sssound out your contactsss in the Sssociety, and amongssst the Church of Iomedae, I would appreciate the referencesss - I am eager to sssettle down to making my Demiplane a true reposssitory of lore..."
Arriving back in his Demiplane, Howard immediately goes looking for his guests, noting simply: "Mae wedi'i wneud." Aklo:
"It is done."
He then turns to Lord Eldarius. "In mane satus opus in inveniendo vos, quod Ego in praedium Taldor, si vis. Non accipies modicum licet, determinatae, sed mihi ad optimum forte de cognatione tua, quia non possum." [spoiler=Azlanti]"In the morning, I will start work on finding you that estate in Taldor, if you wish. It may take a little while, but I am determined to give your family the best chance that I can."
Howard then turns to Delmaria, and smiles. "Et ego non sum oblítus est mei fidem contradixerit sponsioni reddet tibi formare novum amicum. Nos can satus quod cras etiam." Azlanti:
"I have also not forgotten my promise to help you form a bond with a new friend. We can start that tomorrow, as well." He then turns to Amrivast, and Havigan. "If you ssstill wisssh to ssset up an orphanage, I feel that it isss only fair that you receive a portion of what we have recovered, in order to fund it. I assssssume that 70000gp will be more than enough to take care of your needsss, and thossse of your prossspective chargesss...?"
Howard breathes a sigh of relief. "It isss finally over..." He then pats Amrivast gently on the shoulder. "He brought you back not once, but twice! It'sss jussst asss well we bought him thossse glovesss..." Howard then gathers up the chunks of 'Lowls', and casts Limited Wish to disintegrate them. He then casts Wish, to bring the lich's phylactery to him, so he can destroy that as well.
After finishing the looting, he turns to the others. "I dare sssay that the King in Yellow isss not very happy with usss, at presssent... We ssshould probably leave..."
