Looking for some feedback on my recreation of the Myconid (free PDF download) race.

Check your math. I am only seeing 9 race points, not the 13 you list.

Oops. I removed some abilities and didn't adjust the final. Fixed now.

Of course, now I cannot download the PDF Update - Now it works

(By the way ...)

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Working on it. Having difficulty transferring the updated file to the server. Maybe it's cause you're trying to download it?

EDIT: Think I got it now. Try again.

EDIT 2: Fixed some formatting issues and contradictory text about sex.

Sex is often contradictory.

Hmm im smelling a Fungal druid archtype for michonids that have some more spore based powers such as those posessed by only the Michonid elders.

You should give credit to the artists in your PDF.

I like this! Great artwork and interesting to roleplay.

Mushroom people FTW!

Very cool.

I always do, provided the names or their sites are available to me.

If anyone wants to help me track down the artists, I will happily amend the document.

A huge thank you for your creation of this new race. I allowed myself to share with my french friends on Pathfinder-FR which will, I am sure, will be totally amazed ...

Happy to hear it!

I really like it. I picture them speaking like the Myconoid race in Star Control.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

You mean the Mycon?

They are well suited!

Yes! Such good memories.

I'm off to install the Ur-Quan Masters.

Edit: Must... Resist... Stating up... Every Race... In This Game...

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

No. No you should not (resist).

Absolutely. And if your going to distribute your pdfs, you should probably get the artists' permission to use their work as well.

You already know my stance on such things. Reprimanding me (again) is not going to help matters. Helping me track down the artists' identities, however, certainly would.

The only other option I'm left with is to remove the pictures entirely, which I don't want to do except as a last resort.

I'm pretty sure at least part of the artwork is (c) WotC.

Now where was the e-mail address of Hasbro's legal department...

Which one? And who is the artist?

I got an entire room full of people here willing to scold me, but none willing to help me solve the problem. Typical of the online world I suppose.

That's because You're Doing It Wrong (tm).

The correct course of action would be kick off a thread that goes "Hi folks, I want to upload a PDF with some artwork I found on the 'net, but I'm not sure of the authors and/or legal status. Here are the links, help me out folks?". And since I recall Liz asking if you will specify artists in some PDF a few months back, you're not getting the "first time oopsie" card :)

It took me exactly 10 seconds to find out that one of those images is (c) WotC.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I've amended the document to include links to all of the respective artists and companies (just hover over or click the images).

I urge those who have already downloaded the document to do so again, replacing their copy with the new one.

Now, would you all please get back on topic?

I love lamp.

As the author of the document, it is your responsibility to track down the artists and/or artwork owners to obtain permission. Yours alone. Nobody else's. BEFORE releasing the document.

Removing the images is EXACTLY what you should do until such permission is obtained.

So back on topic: Can Myconids wear armor tailored for a more human-shaped race? Their bodies wouldn't necessarily be a problem, but their mushroom-shaped heads could make it difficult...

Should we just ignore that?

I would say they are humanoid shaped, but the resemblance ends there. A suit of armor fitted to a Myconid would not fit a human any better than armor fitted to a dwarf would fit an elf. Traditional helmets may pose a problem (luckily, it's a corner case as helmets rarely have any game effect).

Hey RD how close is the playtest version of the race builder to the actual version?

There's a LOT more options. Some of the RP prices changed. Some of the prerequisites got lifted.

Thank you for the time and effort into this unique build. Thinking about a Tian Xia Myconid clan. The wedge head look goes well with samurai flavor. :)

That's a cool idea, 27. You're quite welcome.

How come? The rules are pretty awesome!

Did you not like anything in the playtest and fear this will be more of the same?

Its not that i just want to make me some races nothing else really stood out. :P
