We play every other Saturday, or try to. I run low level, rules lite campaigns set in homebrew worlds.

Since you're so close to SC, I would look into e-mailing Delbert Collins. Scroll down until you see his name and click on the e-mail link. He runs PFS in South Carolina / Savannah region. His games are definitely a lot closer to you than the games run in Atlanta.
While his games are PFS, I have found it is an absolutely wonderful way to meet new people in your area and start more dedicated home campaigns. I have gotten involved in 2 campaigns by playing PFS, and I've found I really enjoy playing PFS as well.
If you're ever up in Atlanta, feel free to check our games out at visiting Georgia PFS. Once again, all PFS, but there are a lot of awesome people to meet with and play!
