That it does. 28 it is then.

I think anyone selected can do some tweaking if necessary. I was relying on this as a rough guide for Kit Reynard's background.

Both scenarios fall into play, but the organization generally took younger children if possible. They wanted young, malleable minds.

think of everyone being teen years or younger when the revolt happened, and moving on witht heir lives. It's been roughly 10 years since TG was heard of before they launched their campaign to bring everyone 'back into the fold'.

My theory has been Kit's earliest memories are of being four or five. Ten years or so of training makes her about fifteen when the breakout happened. Another ten years has her about twenty five. Of course it's hard to keep track of time when you're being abused and genetically modified in a laboratory.

I've been trying to be meticulously vague with Kit's timeline so expansion or contraction can happen as needed.

Well how about capture us with PL X devices that we have figure away around or break out from their confinement, as for working I am sure mind control threatening our beloved, torture etc. is nice and classic methods, of course they may just want to extract our DNA, alien parasite/life form, recover artefacts etc. to start anew with a new bunch of victims... I mean test subjects.

I don't know why but I totally missed the ten years mentioned there :) but it fits, admittedly Trup might tell me (should I get selected) to rewrite the background since mine is rather young still ;)

I wouldn't worry too much about your Kit's age, Zouron. You've already stated that Kit Smith was one of the youngest escapees and Kit Reynard helped a five year old get out.

Spoiler:
Of course that might not have worked out so well in the end. Details to be revealed when I post the last installment of of the Reynard Saga tomorrow.
Your character build doesn't seem to require a specific age range. Kit S isn't a skill monkey unlike another Kit that could be mentioned and her powers are provided by an artifact found in an ancient Egyptian tomb. The kid with the weird hair in Yu-Gi-Oh can get all kinds of esoteric knowledge from an Egyptian artifact, why can't little Kit?

I assumed we all got out in the same event too, and that Jefferson was sedated at the time. He was just left in his cell, and by the time he had woke up all of TG's employee's were dead and the other supers were gone. For the first time in his remembered life he wasn't on heavy drugs, so he discovered his abilities for the first time.

Working on an image for his appearance.

Nice. So 28 works very well. That's awesome!

Yeah I feel it could work out as is, but you never know what someone else thinks ;) Speaking of weird hair, I have seriously considering that Kit (S) should dye her hair in a redish purple colour, hmm or blue... or green *ponders*.

star light got her powers at the event to

Liberty's Edge

I got a concept in mind that had to go through a few iterations since the original couldn't really be used in this scenario.

Julian Drakeson (AKA "Silver Drake")

Julian is actually something far more than a simple lab experiment; he's descended from something greater. He doesn't know this, of course, and his earliest memories are, in fact, of tests, experiments, and survival. As his mind and body grew, however, he began to suspect that not all of what he was told by his captors was the truth. On escaping, he blended into society fairly well, all things considered. His human form made it easy to find a place for himself, especially thanks to all the education with which his captors had so graciously bestowed him.

Julian is a normal guy overall, maybe even a bit nerdy...until he shifts into half-dragon form. Wings, tail, claws, silver scales, cold breath, immunities, and plenty of might to go around. Definitely plan on being a viable tank, since we seemed to have a few entries for other archetypes covered. I picture him as an insightful brawler who is after a bigger motivation than simple revenge. He knows that what he's been told doesn't add up, and he wants answers.

Need to work out a build, of course, but I have a lot of juggling to do. Any thoughts? encouragement? yays or nays?

Vamp

That's basically what vamp looks like. He can detach his jaw like a snake when he's biting, so his mouth gets really huge. He's got teeth like this. They're lined with carbon nano-meshing to make them virtually indestructible, and they function as straws allowing his unique musculature to suck blood out at a rapid rate.

*shudders* that's creepy!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that guy tattooed the whites of his eyes black. I didn't add that. All I did was make the mouth wider.

Found this amazing image of the StarSeed in then Tallow Exobiology Lab just before Subject 27 (Lilly) was dropped in it as a 11 year old girl. This being the event that made the being now know as Star_Light.

She also looks like this from time to time hehe

Reminds me a bit of the diseased vampires from the blade movies, nice :)

The idea sounds fine, so I advice haste in making a build considering:

Alright everyone I am currently looking over all the submissions, and will be closing submissions tonight. Unfortunately my home computer suffered a terrible accident and I will not post again till monday. On monday I will pick out the characters participating in this campaign. There have been some amazing concepts so far so I don't look forward to cutting anyone!

Just on a funny note, What a real life super looks like, Meet Roger.

Tempting as an idea hummm

Sorry that I never got my submission in. I realised I haven't played M&M3 pretty much since it came out and I kept forgetting to add advantages and benefits to my powers and character that he really should have had so I kept making changes which would cascade into the need for more changes and so on.

It didn't help that HeroLab kept spitting out totals that didn't jive with what I had on paper. I really need to thumb through the rulebook again and reacquaint myself with it. Looks like the group will be interesting; I'm interested in seeing how it goes.

Sir jolt: I don't think Trup has made a selection yet, so should go ahead and submit what your thinking of. Never know :)

True. But considering the low success/high dropout rate of most online games, it doesn't seem fair to expect a DM to select a character based solely on an idea that has no solidified crunch yet.

Liberty's Edge

yeah, looks like I'm bowing out. time constraints are against me here. Sometimes life just sucks like that. I look forward to future opportunities though. Go get em, supers!

Sorry I didn't have this up sooner. I had forgotten a family event that was scheduled today.

This should have the Kit Reynard story caught up to a point where I'd want to coordinate with Trup and the selected players before going further.

Kit R Background 4:

Kit traveled with the boy for weeks, but she never learned his name. The boy would follow her quietly and allowed her to carry him when he tired, but was repelled by the sound of Kit’s voice and answered all of her questions with sobs. Kit understood. In the boy’s world hers was the voice that caused the pain. She knew that for both their sakes she couldn’t travel with the boy, but he was too small and frightened to be left on his own.

The police cars outside the all night diner gave her the answer. Kit led the boy to a corner table inside the restaurant. She ordered for both of them – plenty of the fatty and salty foods that the Labcoats never gave her enough of back in the lab. When Kit had eaten her fill, she went to the cashier and whispered that she thought the boy at the far table was lost. While the cashier roused the cops to action, Kit helped herself to bus fare from the register and slipped out the front door.

As her bus rolled out of town, Kit stared through the window and pondered at her luck in being able to play her People Games outside the lab. The van with the Tallow Genetics logo heading into town startled her. She tried to convince herself that it was just a coincidence. Surely the police would be reuniting the boy with his parents by now. There was no way they’d send him back to that place. Nevertheless, Kit decided not to risk trusting the law again.

Kit spent the next couple years drifting from town to town playing her games to stay warm and fed. She learned to go where people gathered and were off guard. Spring and summer took her to beaches and parks while fall was the perfect time to hunt among the crowds in the malls. In winter, Kit prowled in museums. Museums were warm, well lit, and safe. If you had your timing down, which Kit did, sneaking in with a crowd so you could get in for free was easy. Nobody ever suspected that the well-mannered girl who was enthusiastically asking about the exhibits was lifting their wallet. And museum public restrooms were the cleanest she ever found. Finally, Kit met her Papa in a museum.

No, Jean-Pierre Reynard wasn’t Kit’s long-lost father. Nobody who saw the tall burly Frenchman and the short girl with Asian features would assume they were related, but Jean-Pierre called Kit his daughter from the first time they met. Kit was making her way out of an art museum’s gift shop when Jean-Pierre put his hand on her shoulder and loudly demanded that the clerk let his “daughter” pay for the book she had in her jacket. Kit was confounded. How did the man notice her swiping the book? And why the heck had she swiped a book in the first place? At least Jean-Pierre had the good grace to play along and pay for the book when Kit said she’d left her pocket book in her other jacket. The old guy even took her to dinner.

Jean-Pierre never asked Kit where she came from or how she wound up shoplifting in museum gift shops. The one question he asked that night changed Kit’s life, “Have you ever thought of stealing a Faberge egg instead of a book about them?” After their first meeting, Jean-Pierre Reynard, arguably the greatest cat burglar and art thief of his generation took Kit as his apprentice.

Kit spent the next few years traveling with Jean-Pierre, learning how to pull off high end art and jewelry thefts. She loved this new training. If the People Games Kit played in the lab were “Phase Three,” the sophisticated robberies Jean-Pierre was notorious for had to be at least “Phase Ten.” The agility and grace that Tallow Genetics had added to Kit’s genes were great assets in this line of work. Jean-Pierre taught her the basics of lock picking and disabling alarms, though she’d never be as good as her master. However, Kit’s ease in dealing with people made her a natural “inside man;” learning where the security systems were, fooling people out of keys and passwords, and getting guards to look at something other than her accomplices.

During Kit’s apprenticeship, Jean-Pierre introduced her to several of his underworld associates. He always introduced Kit as his daughter; though it’s unlikely anyone ever believed his stories about who Kit’s mom was or where Kit had been raised. Kit was happy to play along – calling Jean-Pierre Papa and adopting the Reynard name.

A few months ago, Jean-Pierre and Kit were working in separate cities. He was wrapping up lose ends from their last heist while she was on the other side of the continent gathering intel for their next job. Kit was happy that Papa trusted her judgment enough to let her work alone without supervision. Then one morning she got the newspaper and the letter. The morning paper had a headline about Jean-Pierre being arrested. Kit hadn’t even heard of the job he was arrested for and it looked like he had been caught because he made some rookie mistakes. The letter was in Jean-Pierre’s handwriting. “Sorry, Kit. I’m an old man and need to retire,” the letter read. “I’ll probably wind up in a low level Club Fed for five years or so. I hear those Tallow Genetics creeps are recruiting again. Watch your back.”

And I saved the full text to Google Drive if you don't want to search through the thread. Link
