A tanned man looks up from his notebook and addresses the others in the waiting room.

"Hello, my name is Raziq. People often call me "the Shrouded," a play on words as I am both cloaked in desert garb, as you can see, as well as the fact that I seem to have brought the desert heat with me."

If you look a bit closer, you see that the man is surrounded by little distortions in the air, like a mirage

"But that's all besides the point. I'm from Osirion, where I worked as a zoologist and historian. Lots of history to be found there, but darn few interesting fauna. I heard that as a Pathfinder you go to a lot of interesting places, so this is purely to further my academic career. My last book about the evolution of insects indigenous to Osirion throughout the ages sold surprisingly little, so I thought becoming a famous adventurer will give me lots of word-of-mouth advertisement.
Anyway, while my interests are primarily academical, I'm no slouch with a weapon. Lots of wildlife you need to defend yourself from, you see."

Imagine a posh British accent tinged with a slight Arabic accent. My inspiration was partially Sir Hammerlock from Borderlands, and partially the Occultist from Darkest Dungeon.

"Welcome friends, and don't worry about getting famous" Gorrec bellows "Those around Gorrec the Magnificent will find their fame rising quicker than the halfling who sat down on a hedgehog"

"I don't think I need to introduce myself any further, as you undoubtedly have heard of me." Gorrec states, as he hopefully looks at Raziq, Rico and Araklifest.

A tall and slender elf, blond with a ponytail with greenish streaks, looks up from his food when he hears the discussion between Raziq and Gorrec. First he adresses the bard: "I have never heard of you too, but I'm not from this town. Obviously, your fame has not reached far enough yet," and to the Osirian he remarks: "You name was not in the catalogue of our library. I'm sure because I catalogued all our new books for the last decade or two. Could you have sent one? We have quite a good collection on the fauna of Osirion and it could be a welcome addition."

The reference to his work as a librarian is remarkable as the elf at first sight looks more like a fighter than a scholar in his studded leather armor, with a well-used longsword standing against his backpack and a shortbow strapped to it.

"Soooo... A "famous" Bard, and two scholars. That's wonderful! Hello everyone, my name is Rico Fink, of Honest Fink's Enterprise." He eagerly shakes the hands of everyone in the room. "At the moment, I'm a small business man, but I have a lot of ambition. And as my occupation requires a lot of talking, I'm quite confident that I can handle any social encounters."

He then lookes straight at Raziq. "If you need someone to promote and sell your books, look no further. I'm willing to go the distance to make it a smashing success."

Raziq grins.

"I see, this could be a mutually profitable expedition for all of us. I look forward to successfully concluding my report."

Dead Suns:

The invitation delivered last night was remarkably simple, especially given the importance of the occasion: “Start where it all began. Meet us at the Pig’s Paunch one hour before dawn.”
The Pig’s Paunch is a run-down building with a faded sign of a large pig standing on its hind legs, arms folded above a corpulent belly. Inside, the air is thick with the scents of human sweat, stale tobacco, and leftover food. In the center of the room, surrounded by inebriates sleeping off their revelries, a familiar elven man stands high upon top of a large round table.
“Welcome! Welcome, my students! Please, have a seat!”
With that, Kreighton Shaine, the Pathfinder Society’s Master of Scrolls, nimbly drops down to sit cross-legged on the table before looking about the tavern with a sense of reverent wonder. “Can you believe it? It all started here years ago—well, over four hundred of them at least. Under this very roof the Pathfinder Society was born.
“But today! Today you will begin your Confirmation! Master Farabellus, Master Zey, and I all agree you each have shown your worth and dedication to the Society, so there’s no better time to see if you can handle becoming full field operatives. Allow me to introduce you to Janira Gavix,”
he says as he motions for an excitable halfling woman to approach. She wears a large backpack and carries all manner of tools, pouches, and scroll cases around her waist. Shaine continues, saying, “Janira here will be going with you on your Confirmation. She was one of my brightest pupils and will no doubt be an invaluable resource on your journey, for she discovered the caves you are about to explore during her own Confirmation.”
Janira speaks up in an enthusiastic and cheerful voice, “Greetings, aspiring Pathfinders! Six months ago, while I was mapping cave entrances in the foothills of the Kortos Mounts, I witnessed a lone gillman entering a concealed cave.
I thought little of it at the time, but I saw another one enter the cave again a month later as my Confirmation stretched on. A few days later, after I completed my assigned task, I entered the cave system, but was unable to find the gillmen.”

Master Shaine hops to his feet. “Initiates, for your Confirmation, you will travel to these caves to explore and document its many passages. Additionally, and most importantly, you are to learn what the gillmen are up to in there. Oh, and you need to come back alive as well.” With these parting words, the Master of Scrolls jumps off the table and strolls out of the building while humming to himself.

Human Wizard (Scrollmaster)

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten how The Confirmation and Wounded Wisp completely contradict each other regarding the Society's origins. Now I want to play them back-to-back and be completely confused about it.

Raziq's eyes shine with excitement.

"A-ha! Observing the living patterns of a Gillman population, how fascinating! We must observe them from afar, so not to disturb their routine. And of course, I won't be satisfied with just a cursory examination, we need to be thorough! How will they survive the harsh winter, for example? Pack up your gear, fellows, this is going to be an exciting year, at the very least!"

"HA, a Gillman community! Such an opportunity! I wouldn't mind meeting them." Rico starts repacking everything to make sure he has all his merchandise ready for the grabs when he meets them. He then shows a look of confusion on his face. "But I never heard of a Gillman population nearby, what are they doing over there?"

Dark Archive

Out-of-character knowledge from a different scenario: Apparently the Gillmen are native to this island and more or less predate Absalom. There's a small quarter for them in the city, but they're not exactly a common sight.

Araklifest seems curious, but not exactly excited:"The question is not only: what do the gillmen in these caves, but also: why couldn't you find them when you searched for them. Can you tell us something more about the cave complex? There has to be water for the gillmen, but is it an extensive complex as well?"

Dead Suns:

Janira smiles exitedly. “The gillmen are a humanoid race much like humans save for the three piscine gills on both sides of their necks. They’re a little secretive but not outright hostile. Most live in or near the water.
The only known permanent surface settlement of the gillmen is in Escadar. Why they’re venturing into the foothills of the Kortos Mounts is a mystery. I only explored the cave a little, as extensive cavework is very dangerous when you are alone.”

Janira takes out a map, and points out the way. "We wont need to travel far. See, we are here, in Absalom, and here, is the cave. Its about a day and a half travel. Depending on how much time we need, we either camp in the plains, or the start of the forest. As to creatures..." Janira rolls the map back up again.

I think most of us did so before the game started, but I'll go again.

"I'm a scholar of nature and history by trade. However, my latest book didn't seem to sell all that well. It's as if there's no need for people to identify all the bugs that have appeared in Osirion over the last few centuries." Raziq scoffs. "But now that money is tight, I thought I'd appeal to the Society for a steady flow of income. Until I'm famous, that is. When my name is on the tongue of all the academia in Golarion, I'm sure my subsequent books will sell like hotcakes. Until that time, however, I'm afraid I'll have to contend myself with trivialities such as these. I take a walk through the mountains and write a silly little report, and my name will end up in the Chronicles. Hardly the dream job I'd envisioned as a kid, but there it is."

Seeing that everyone has finished their story, Gorrec grabs the opportunity to tell his tale.

”It all started long ago by my great grandfather Gorrec Wolfseye, whom my named me after. He was a tall, Orc. From early age on he knew he was destined for greatness. At age nine he was the best archer of the tribe. As he proved again and again by bringing in large amounts of meat every time he went hunting."

"You wonder how he earned the name Wolfseye?" Gorrec asks to no one in particular, ignoring any replies as he happily continues: "I will tell you, listen. Gorrec as he has often done before went alone in the woods to hunt some animals. He quickly spotted the trail of an large elk. He managed to track it through the forest for hours until he managed to sneak up to it and killing it with one arrow."

"He cut out the best parts of the elk, and made a mental note to return the next day to claim the rest of the animal."

"By the time he was ready to return to the tribe, it was getting dark. He managed to get half way out of the forest when he heard the howl of at least 10 wolves. He decided to make haste, but alas, he soon heard the howls coming closer and closer. Nearing the edge of the forest, Gorrec decided to abandon the hunt he was carrying and ran into the open fields."

"The wolves started feasting on the dropped elk meat. Gorrec, instead of fleeing for his life, turned around and decide to fight those animals. He grabbed his bow and started to shoot the feasting wolves. He managed to shoot five before they noticed the arrows and the dying screams of their pack. He shot another six that decided to attack him, and four fleeing away for the storm of arrows Gorrec unleashed."

"He went back to his village to gather some fellow orcs to return the next day."
When they returned at the site of the slaughter they discovered that all the wolves were shot through their eyes, leaving the skin intact. Since that day everyone called him Wolfseye"

"He accomplished many more great deeds, he once eliminated a giant flock of harpys with ease, but I will save that one for another time"

"His son" Gorreks continues, "Arkus Trollflame If no one stops him, he is going to talk the rest of the day about his ancestors.
