Corbett grips his longspear tight in hand, and knocks his boots against the butt-end with a one-two tap. "Aye, I've been fixing for some excitement, all this damned walking has nearly stiffened my blood!"

He gives the oread monk a nod and wink, then begins to trod towards the melee in a jog. A few paces later, he plants his feet astride Kronas, brandishing his spearpoint towards the greasy bandits.

"OI! You wee shites have picked the worst possible band of travelers to attack, and if you so much as toss another rock in our direction, I'll see it rammed down your throat by the time I'm done with ye!"

Fenrir dons some reading glasses, I don't know how but she does.

Knowledgeable?:
Knowledge (Int; Trained Only): You can use this skill to identify monsters and their special powers or vulnerabilities. In general, the DC of such a check equals 10 + the monster's CR. For common monsters, such as goblins, the DC of this check equals 5 + the monster's CR.

Untrained: You cannot make an untrained Knowledge check with a DC higher than 10. If you have access to an extensive library that covers a specific skill, this limit is removed. linky

Maybe they are your common variety of Bandits ;)

Season of Ghosts

Ready for some real action, the group begins to move forward to challenge the would-be robbers. Winterhawk moves closer and takes aim at Red with his bow, but firing through the foliage at a target proves more difficult than he'd imagined and the arrow whizzes harmlessly past the bandit. Fenrir has better luck as he advances on Yellow and gives him a painful bite on the leg! Mr. Crab hustles to stand next to Kronas, eager to spill his share of blood if the bandits don't heed his warning to walk away.

Kn. Local (DC 15+):

You suddenly realize that you've entered an area claimed by a group of thugs that call themselves the Gorgon’s Privateers. They're not a particularly special or well-known group, just a common group of thugs that like to ambush travelers on mountain roads.

Season of Ghosts

@Kridash - Did you take the difficult terrain of the forested squares into account with your movements?

Katswiri and Kridash both hustle forward as quickly as they can, offering their own thoughts on the situation as they do.

The bandits don't seem especially concerned about the arrival of reinforcements, however. Another pair of stones come whizzing out from the trees to the southeast...

...and laughs cruelly as the eidolon staggers under the pain of his blow. "Hah! Ain't no wolf a match for the Gorgon's Privateers," he grins.

Further to the north, both Red and Green ready their slings and fire at Corbett and Kronas, respectively, before ducking further back into the trees.

Kronas grows wise to the bandits' tactics and quickly heads for the cover of the trees himself after using a bit of magic to grant him a boost of speed! Katswiri continues to close the distance between herself and the fighting and Fenrir, sensing just how badly she's been wounded, falls back a pace. Winterhawk attempts to come to her aid and fires another arrow at Blue, but once again misses his target. On the bright side, Kridash has better luck against Blue as he maneuvers around and delivers a solid punch to the bandit's face - along with some choice words. Blue yelps with pain and turns his attention to this new challenger.

"You...you don't scare me!" Blue retorts, but the fear in his eyes says a totally different story.

Also tired of the bandits' nonsense, Mr. Crab deftly steps forward and stabs at Red - striking him soundly in the shoulder despite the cover of the trees and other foliage! Red swears and grits his teeth.

"No, you're the one that'll be sorry..." he hisses, motioning to his buddy Green. @Kridash - No worries! I'll always try my best to provide flanking for rogues and such, but if you don't need it, that's fine too. :)

As the blue bandit backs away from the scary half-orc, Kronas can't help thinking that Kridash didn't get enough hugs when he was a child. Unable to think of anything further to say now that one bandit is down, and the other is clearly shaking in his boots, Kronas opts to remain silent for a moment. Making his sword glow with arcane energy, he starts swinging it at the bandit's legs again, hoping to halt his retreat.

Kalk vs. Jyrrar (Drag): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

As Jyrrar continues to struggle with Kalkamedes, the sleepwalker gives a sudden lurch and manages to drag Jyrrar forward a few feet - but thankfully they're still a fair distance away from the fighting and the bandits have more pressing concerns to worry about!

Kronas slashes viciously at the fleeing Blue and opens up an ugly wound on the back of the man's calf while Fenrir suddenly charges forward and snaps at the surprised Orange, sinking her teeth deeply into his arm! Winterhawk follows the action up with a well-placed shot from his bow that sinks deeply into Purple's chest - the man gurgles and staggers but doesn't fall! Katswiri also tries to strike at Blue with her mace and only just misses cracking him in the head!

@Ladile: Green bandit's attack of 17 with the sickle would actually be a hit, as I lose my buckler's shield bonus from using my off-hand to attack last round.

As Blue continues to attempt to flee, Kridash quickly puts an end to his efforts by tumbling after him through the trees and delivering a nasty chop to the back of his neck. With a groan, he faceplants onto the ground - down, but still breathing.

Meanwhile, Green finds out the hard way that Corbett has no problem in returning favors as he steps back and drives the spear deeply into his body! Blood spurts out of the bandit's mouth but he's not dead yet...though it does look like Corbett has seriously ruined what was left of his night.

"Bloody hell, I ain't dyin' for this s#$&! I'm outta here!" cries Purple, having seen and experienced quite enough for one night. He turns and begins fleeing through the trees towards the south. Orange is right behind him, crying out, "Wait, wait for meeee!"

Corbett snorts, curls his tongue and spits at the tracks left by the fleeing bandit. His heart racing from the rush of armed combat, he steadies his nerves, then looks at his forearm once again.

Oof! Much deeper than I thought. Gotta bandage this up soon as I'm able.

He turns his head to the south, seeing Winterhawk with bow in hand. "Glad to see yer okay." he says with a nod, then shouts behind him into the treeline, where he can make out a few shapes that look like the rest of his party. "How's about you lot in there? All in one piece?" he sets his spear down, takes a knee, then shrugs his pack off his shoulders. Rooting through it for a moment, his shoulders slump.

... Crab, you dolt. You forgot to resupply after that last job. He lets out a sigh. Okay, no bandages. Any simple bit of cloth'll do. He grabs for his knife, but there's an expanse of nothingness where the handle ought to be. "Oh, right. That kobold jumped out of the way, and the damned thing kept going, right over the tower railing... Gods, Crab. You're having quite the go of it... Tearing a section of his shirt sleeve, he rips it into a strip, then winds it haphazardly around his wound. Once everyone seems mended up and ready to go, you turn Kalkamedes loose once more and fall into formation as he continues his march. The sleepwalker continues on his trek towards the unknown, continuing to journey north and then eventually gravitating northwest. He keeps his course for another two hours and you begin to feel a sense of worry, for the hour is late and you've yet to discover anything about where Kalkamedes is heading or why.

Just when you begin to wonder if you'll be forced to make camp for the day ahead, you come to the top of a small rise and see a valley stretching before you. The light of the sinking moon washes the sub-alpine valley in silvery light. A squat, stone bunker crafted of dark rock sits nestled among the low trees, it's domed roof barely peeking out from above the leafy canopy. As a cloud passes over the moon, the entire structure seems to fade from view, leaving a momentary void before the moon's light again illuminates it. Only a single, solitary entryway mars the smooth, windowless facade of the lone building. Though none of you have ever been to this place, you all instantly recognize it - this structure is the same as the one from the charred drawing you found in Kalkamedes' stove.

"Thank you for the concern Corbett. Might I help you with that." Winterhawk points to the brawler arm.

With a quick flick of his wrist Winterhawk produces a wand of deep red almost black. He taps the Taldan man muttering a single word in infernal and a sickly red aura glows about the man for the next few moments. He also taps Fenrir as well.

Wand of Infernal healing. 10 rounds of fast healing 1

Infernal Healing:

You anoint a wounded creature with devil’s blood or unholy water, giving it fast healing 1. This ability cannot repair damage caused by silver weapons, good-aligned weapons, or spells or effects with the good descriptor. The target detects as an evil creature for the duration of the spell and can sense the evil of the magic, though this has no long-term effect on the target’s alignment.

Katswiri chases a few feet after the fleeing bandits before realizing they intend to flee. After a quick look around to make sure there aren't any additional bandits still fighting, she wipes her mace on the ground to clean off the blood and stows it away at her waist. She turns her attentions to Kridash, gesturing for him to turn around. "Let me see the wound." She runs her hands lightly across the bloody gash, touching it gently. "Its deep, but seems to have missed the most vital organs. Here, I should be able to help." Katswiri gestures, then touches the wound as soft, glowing light causes the flesh to knit back together. "How does it feel? Is there any lingering pain?"

Maybe once we enter, Kalkamedes will wake up? I wonder what's inside..."
