"That would be a good idea. I would assist you." says Syvlara, nodding to Liz.

Astra is also in favor of burying the bodies. If the place is cursed in some way, then she will try to determine if there is any way to undo the curse.

Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31

Not so hasty my friends. This shadow here has a mission and a purpose i feel is deeply intwined with our reasons to be here. Let´s find out how we can lift this curse and give them the proper burying rituals.
I hope you recognize the dimension of all this here we just witnessed!

Ibuki waves his arms around the interior, looking from one to the other.
Well some of might not be bale to appreciate it, but this thing here is not from Golarion. Just like everything from the starfall it appears. While there always were rumors, we have now proof and the opportunity to talk to someone from another world that is not a demon, but the shadow of a mortal that seemingly once was human!

I firmly believe it is our holy duty to gather as much information as we can here! The shadow stays under my control as long as possible. Don´t you dare lay hands on it! You lack any means to do so anyway. You´ll only get yourselves killed. It´s an essential puzzle piece and vital part of our success! You already smashed the skeletons, if you want more go out smash some orcs!

Ibuki seems firmly decided on the matter. He begins to search the room and the remaining bodies some more.

Perception: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31

To the shadow:
So you want to tell me anything about your burial rites and maybe some more details about your mission? We just take that inhibitor facet - where is it by the way? - and install it into that divinity. Hellion was talking about that divinity too. I conclude it was the big thing falling from the sky.

Could we have some options what to do? And interaction possibilities with Yurian Valako? Or already depleted? I would love to lift the curse here and keep that shadow!

Female Elf Fighter (Archer) 7 | HP 57/57 | AC 20 T 13 FF 17 | Ft +7 Rf +6 Wi +2* | Init +6 | Perc +13 l CMD 23

Syvlara looks as confused as ever. "Uhm... I, I'll help with the burial when it's time... Just... don't blow us up, or send us to another dimension, or get us killed, or raise an undead army, or... anything bad, really."

Not from Golarion? Puzzle Piece? Holy Duty?... necromancers, I don't think I'll ever understand them.

Astra does indeed believe the place is cursed, due to the sudden dark miasma and ghosts. One way to remove the curse is with a powerful spell. A simpler way that sometimes works is to kill the undead within the area. You might also be able to dispel it by destroying the area/ship entirely. Or perhaps completing the mission of the ghosts. Astra, of course, does not know for certain what could dispel the curse.

Ibuki looks at the red suit of the main skeleton, and finds a small light orange crystal with a metal cap that has plugs and prongs inside one of the pockets.

Androffan:
"Inhibitor Facet... Divinity..."
The wraith speaks but seems to have a much harder control over its voice and words.

Ibuki can make an Arcana or Religion to figure out how he might keep the wraith and/or remove the curse. Though most of the answers are the same as Astra's above.

"I'm happy to help put the soul to rest, and in the fastest way possible. Should the situation arise, I believe I can injure the creature."

Chakos will detect evil on the wraith. And should the answer be "yes" he will go ahead and expend a smite on it. That way the smite part is handled for when it comes time to beat it up.

Chakos definitely senses evil coming from the wraith.

kn:religion: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

Oh what do we have here?
He picks up the orange crystal.
Is that the inhibitor facet?

Don´t worry Sylvara, i have no such intentions. I just hate a waste of resources and opportunites.

Female Human

Abyssal:
Chakos, do you want Ibuki lightning bolted with the wraith?

Abyssal:
"Not as long as he doesn't interfere when the time comes to handle business."

Ibuki knows that the wraith has ties to the body. If the body is cleansed with holy water, or a dispel curse spell, the wraith is free to leave the ship. Also, destroying the wraith should break the curse on the ship entirely, which may affect the canyon itself.

Female Human (Kellid) Bard (Archaeologist) 7 (HP 47/47 | AC 20 | Fort +2 Ref +5 Will +5 | Initiative +0 | Perception +13)

Abyssal:
"I believe this building to be cursed by the ill favor that has befallen it. That curse has reanimated this wraith and those skeletons, and I believe there is an interdependency. Destroying the wraith would -- this is only my best guess -- end the curse, but the reverse is a little different; removing the curse would, instead of destroying the wraith, free it. And I do not think we want a wraith running free in Scrapwall whenever Ibuki is done with it."

After having checked every room thoroughly for findings (including with Detect Magic and Technomancy, so she doesn't miss any magic or technological objects), Astra will start the hard work of burying the corpses outside the building -- assuming, of course, that nothing interrupts her before that.

Female Human

Liz will assist Astra

"Well? What do you smart folks think?"

Abyssal:
"How do we handle the wraith? And how will Ibuki respond?"

Chakos keeps his eye on the wraith the whole time the ladies are burying bodies.

Abyssal:
Since i took the time to learn the foul tongue you´re speaking in when you get excited, i understand you very well Chakos. I wonder what taint is on you actually causing this. Certainly no small amount of negative energy was involved there too.

He pauses, looking at Chakos intensely.
Abyssal:
So before you go purging around, take a moment to consider please.

I believe this Canyon is indeed cursed. Probably the events back then caused an intense wave of desparation that tore apart the fabric of reality here somehow and caused an influx of negative energy into our realm. We could begin with cleansing the bodies with holy water. That should already do something. Our new friend can then come with us.

Female Human (Kellid) Bard (Archaeologist) 7 (HP 47/47 | AC 20 | Fort +2 Ref +5 Will +5 | Initiative +0 | Perception +13)

Abyssal:
I would not recommend holy water on the bodies. I think there is a very real chance that it will allow the wraith to break free instead of destroying it."

Abyssal:
The wraith is under my command for several more days. There´s no chance of it breaking free at all. Only should you foolishly decide to attack it, it can defend itself and probaly destroy you. We can free it from this palce though, so we can take it with us to divinity and let it fulfill it´s purpose personaly. Such is the grace of mercy. I´m getting the feeling that you did not exhaust your philosophical discussions of what actually is a good and just act yet, but seem merely contempt with legally superfluous and cursory common believes as well as rash judgements that might easily be dulled by unfortunate misbeliefs and mistakes which inevitably arise from such doings that fail to include deeper analysis and wider consequences, but only stay one dimensional and are therefore severly hampered!
Please don´t let your judgement be clouded, but keep the greater frame and goal in mind as well as all the catastrophal suffering that might arise from a failure there.

"You want to *take a wraith with us*? Like some kind of pet? A *wraith*? *Seriously*? You want us to go to sleep with a wraith ten feet away?"

My bad Ibuki. Don't recall you speaking Abyssal before, nor is it on your character sheet. In either case, discussing killing the wraith in Abyssal is smart, so it can't understand us.

Female Elf Fighter (Archer) 7 | HP 57/57 | AC 20 T 13 FF 17 | Ft +7 Rf +6 Wi +2* | Init +6 | Perc +13 l CMD 23

Syvlara sits down and meditates while waiting for the ever growing demons to finish their chat.

Learned Abyssal after the last level up actually. It´s at least in my herolab file on the PC. I got it under control via Command Undead for 6 days. It won´t attack us and eventually do what asked, like with diplomacy or CHA checks. Totaly safe thing (15% chance to make the safe after that time). You can also let yourselves be convinced ingame^^

Abyssal:
Uhm yes? The wraith is under my spell. That won´t be broken by the holy water on it´s former body and i know exactly when that spell runs out and can renew it. It´s once a week, nothing to worry about. In fact you can sleep safer since there will be an additional guard watching over your dreams. And i could ask it to stay 15 feet away if you feel better then.

Female Human

Abyssal:
I am sorry, but I cannot travel with the undead. If we lay it to rest by burying andf blessing the remains, I can wait a little bit. COntrolling an undead to keep it from attacking us is also acceptable but these things are unnatural and must be sent to Pharesma's boneyard.

Female Human (Kellid) Bard (Archaeologist) 7 (HP 47/47 | AC 20 | Fort +2 Ref +5 Will +5 | Initiative +0 | Perception +13)

This is also in Abyssal, but I'm tired of the spoiler tags.

"I am less concerned about religious dogma and more concerned about basic security. What proof can you offer that as soon as you fall asleep, the wraith won't break free and murder us all?"

Male Human Medical Doctor - Steadfast Hit Points: 26/26; Dodge: 50/25/10; Listen: 20/10/4; Spot Hidden:58/29/11; Luck: 21; Sanity: 45; Default Reaction: Dodge

Abyssal - "Like Liz, I can accept the short term gain in controlling the creature, but for several reasons, I am unable to condone this as a long term solution. We need to set the soul free, and there are a couple ways of doing so."

Are you doubting my arcane abilities? That is an severe insult!

I agree with setting the souls here free. Seems we having different opinions about the how though. And you didn´t offer any solutions actually. At least none that help our long term plans and the safety of Torch.

Female Human (Kellid) Bard (Archaeologist) 7 (HP 47/47 | AC 20 | Fort +2 Ref +5 Will +5 | Initiative +0 | Perception +13)

Abyssal: "Killing the wraith. That improves the safety of Torch by having one less undead around, and helps our long term plans by getting us moving again."

This undead has nothing to do with the safety of Torch. It´s actually acting to protect Torch by wanting to destroy that divinity threat! It would benefit us and my studies very well to keep it. We can always destroy it later.

Ultimately, your characters either have to agree to move with the wraith, or destroy it and antagonize Ibuki. Hopefully, you can give him a good reason to do so if you go with the second option. As soon as you resolve this, we can move on.

Male Human Medical Doctor - Steadfast Hit Points: 26/26; Dodge: 50/25/10; Listen: 20/10/4; Spot Hidden:58/29/11; Luck: 21; Sanity: 45; Default Reaction: Dodge

Abyssal: "Very well, I am convinced. Haste if you would please Liz."

Chakos casts bless weapon on his axe and moves adjacent to the wraith.

Time to just do this.

Female Human

Liz uses her arcane focus to haste the group, with the exception of Ibuki.

Female Human (Kellid) Bard (Archaeologist) 7 (HP 47/47 | AC 20 | Fort +2 Ref +5 Will +5 | Initiative +0 | Perception +13)

"Undead don't act to protect anything but themselves. They are almost universally evil. And from what it said, I think you're reaching if you think it wants to destroy Divinity."

Astra re-casts Mirror Image which has expired in the meantime, and brandishes her glowing sword at the wraith.

Mirror Image: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 1d7 to hit Astra

Whew, Chakos, you dropped a big fear from my shoulders by bringing up bless weapon. I was really worried about our odds if you couldn't damage the wraith.

Yeah i´m not really seeing the good reason there...

Ibuki steps back at the display of senseless violence.
Then follow your base instincts, but you owe me. There´s neither sense nor reason in this. We could have gained much more otherwise.
He is obviously displeased with the decision and moreso the fact that he was deliberately left out of Liz spell.

There was never going to be a way to reconcile Ibuki's "Our new friend" and my unwillingness to travel with the evil creature.

Female Elf Fighter (Archer) 7 | HP 57/57 | AC 20 T 13 FF 17 | Ft +7 Rf +6 Wi +2* | Init +6 | Perc +13 l CMD 23

Syvlara hears Liz cast haste on the group, and stands up, bow in hand, ready to strike.

"Oh so we are going to destroy it then? Excellent"

With Chakos' slashes, the wraith moans and dissipates into the ether.

As soon as the shadowy creature perishes, the dark miasma surrounding the ship disappears. The area remains dark, but you no longer feel a foreboding energy within the rooms.

Female Human (Kellid) Bard (Archaeologist) 7 (HP 47/47 | AC 20 | Fort +2 Ref +5 Will +5 | Initiative +0 | Perception +13)

Did we bury the bodies and search all the rooms for loot yet, or do you want some more rolls?

Female Human

Liz sighs. Well that seems to be the end of it, let us leave this place and head back to Torch.

Male Human Medical Doctor - Steadfast Hit Points: 26/26; Dodge: 50/25/10; Listen: 20/10/4; Spot Hidden:58/29/11; Luck: 21; Sanity: 45; Default Reaction: Dodge

Are we heading straight back to Torch, or picking up Dinvaya? Astra will most definitely not raise the topic of asking her along.

Female Human

Let us see if Dinvaya wishes to come along.

When you reach the Clockwork Chapel, Dinvaya seems to have packed all her things and has two Brigh golems with her. "I am ready to head to Torch." Her eyes shine and a small smile falls on her lips, seeming to say, of course you want me to accompany you.

"When you are ready, we can depart."Dinvaya says matter-of-factly.

Male Human Medical Doctor - Steadfast Hit Points: 26/26; Dodge: 50/25/10; Listen: 20/10/4; Spot Hidden:58/29/11; Luck: 21; Sanity: 45; Default Reaction: Dodge

"So we have a pile of junk that needs carried, I don't suppose those two can carry it?" Chakos inquires pointing at the golems.

Female Human

Golems are tireless and never complain!

By the way, none of the male characters catch on to the maliciousness and craziness of the female implications. They believe she is talking normally. Only Syvlara, Astra and Liz can read the hidden layers of Dinvaya's meaning.

Female Human

I do?

Female Human (Kellid) Bard (Archaeologist) 7 (HP 47/47 | AC 20 | Fort +2 Ref +5 Will +5 | Initiative +0 | Perception +13)

I must be male on the inside because I have no idea what you mean. :D

You head back to Torch. It takes a few days.

Dinvaya takes more breaks than a normal adventurer.

Four days pass before you make it back home.

What do you do when you reach Torch?

Female Human

We should report back in for any possible rewards, then see about selling what we have found and maybe set up trade routes to Scrapwall
