Thematic Elements in Adventures

Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

I have a database application using python and PostgreSQL that I use to store information about the Paizo products I own (or might want to own). For adventures, I'm including information about thematic elements in the adventure/AP as written. The current set is based very loosely on the Digital RPG Consent Checklist from Monte Cook games as included in the TTRPG Safety Toolkit but do not use the same scale. I simply note if they are explicit or implicit in the adventure. Not all of them are likely to apply to Paizo adventures. The list of elements I currently have is:

  • Addiction/Substance Abuse
  • Animal Harm
  • Arachnaphobia
  • Body Horror
  • Cannibalism
  • Child Endangerment
  • Claustrophobia
  • Cosmic Horror
  • Demonic/Diabolic Themes
  • Entomophobia
  • Gore
  • Graphic Violence
  • Horror
  • Mind Control
  • Non-Consensual Sexual Content
  • Racism/Discrimination
  • Real-World Religion
  • Self-Harm/Suicide
  • Sexual Content
  • Slavery/Captivity
  • Thallasaphobia
  • Torture
  • Undead/Necromancy

Since I don't have all the adventures, I'm interested in getting input from people who own the various Pathfinder 2E/Remaster adventures on what thematic elements are explicit or implicit in the adventures they own. If you know of other potential trigger themes in adventures, please also note those. I know this is kind of a big ask so I's really appreciate it.

Thank you

Since... oh, i dunno... around 2022? the APs have warnings in the first few pages about some triggering themes / events / monsters / whatever.

Just saw the one for Bastion of Blasphemies. Looks ... fun >:-)

Most of the player's guides include the content warnings on the first page, so you don't need the whole AP to get that info.
