If you want a superhero movie with teen angst, I would recommend - more highly than any Spider-Man movie - Andrew Gunn's Sky High.

That is an absolutely wonderful movie. Utterly hilarious in spots (just about any scene with Sonic Boom)

Sad to hear. I recall watching Sky High once, many years ago. It was entertaining.
