So 3 of the Mystic Connections do not give you training in the skill that goes with the spell tradition of the that skill. Can they even cast spells if they don't waste one of their 3 free skills to get the Spell Tradition Skill.
Basically the skill proficiencies of Mystic say you get your one connection skill and 3 free
Rhythm, which cast Primal tradition, receives Performance instead of Nature
Healing, Which cast Divine tradition, receives Medicine instead of Religion
Shadow, which cast Divine tradition, receives Stealth instead of Religion
So do I have to waste a slot to pick up the tradition skill or do I just cast because I have the connection?

Skills are not used for spellcasting in SF2 except in specific contexts like the Trick Magic Item feat on PC p.230
Mystics begin trained in spell attack modifier and spell DC as stated on p.115, and increase proficiency in both at 7th, 15th, and 19th levels when they gain the Expert, Master, and Legendary Spellcaster class features
For more details, read Mystic Spellcasting on p.117 followed by Spell Attack Rolls and Spell DC on p.394-395
