Guillermo del Toro‘s Frankenstein

Scarab Sages

It’s not actually called Guillermo del Toro‘s Frankenstein, but I thought that’d be a nice distinction.

Anyway, here’s the Trailer. It looks awesome. Of course, I’d expect nothing less from del Toro.

I'm excited.

Scarab Sages

New Trailer.

I think it was just released the other day. Looking forward to this.

Scarab Sages

This is playing in limited release now, but will be on Netflix in a few weeks. There’s a theater about 17 miles away that has it, so I’m debating going to see it. It’s got a run time of 2:45 minutes though. So I’m leery.

We shall see what the day brings.

It's Del Toro. Trust me folks, it's WORTH seeing.

Scarab Sages

This came to streaming yesterday, so the wife and I were finally able to watch it. Didn't get around to it until almost 8:30, so it was a late night for us. Worth it, though.

The movie was visually stunning. I can see why the youtube people I watch were recommending seeing it in a theater. The sets were amazing. The costuming was really well done.

The story, while not as faithful an adaptation as the Branagh version, was still well put together. The performances by Oscar Isaacs and Jacob Elordi were both excellent. And it was great to see so many great older actors: Christoph Waltz, Charles Dance, Ralph Ineson (all to briefly), Lars Mikkelsen, and David Bradley.

If you haven't seen this movie yet, I highly recommend it.

We watched it this weekend and enjoyed it. Visually excellent - very Gothic.
