A Pathfinder Guide to the Psychic

Advice

I'm opening this thread in order to present my Pathfinder Guide to the Psychic.

I hope this can be a place for others to comment on it and help me improve it.

Quick disclaimer: there will be language issues and probably a lot of mistakes for English is not my mother tongue and my mastery of it is far from complete.

I noticed a distinct lack of discussion and interest on these boards regarding the Psychic class and felt that I should probably write a guide about it (seeing as it is probably my new favorite class in Pathfinder), in hope to make new people fall in love with it as I have!

If my guide can inspire some people to try out this new class, I will consider my objectives accomplished.
My aim was never to provide a guide to the ultimate Psychic of Doom but rather to try to highlight how fun the class can be to play and roleplay. ;)

Synaptic Shock should be rated Gold, it is the best of the Major Amplifications. It basically guarantees that any of your save or suck spells cause the enemy to suck. They either make the save and are screwed or fail the save and are still screwed.

This one ability basically represents potential complete multi round lockdown. It is incredibly brutal.

You also entirely wrong about the Amnesiac archetype. You give up 1 or 2 spells known for potential complete access to your entire spell list. I wouldnt recommend trying to use amnesiac slots inside combat but it doesnt prevent any of the rest of your spells known from working.

I agree with your post about the Amnesiac but I can see players trying to fill up amnesia slots in combat and it would be an issue for them. Even though I believe it should be avoided, under some circumstances, you might not have much of a choice and there goes the gambling part.

I personally love the archetype but I could see why others would not.

As far as Synaptic Shock goes, my rating is based on the personal opinion I have that you can do much better than confused at the level you get this.
To achieve multi round lockdown at that level, you would also have to empty at least half your phrenic pool. That's okay if you don't expect there will be a lot of other fights in a game's day but my last Reign of Winter session, the DM had us go through six encounters before allowing us to rest. I might consider giving it a higher rating but it's still not Blue in my opinion.

Good guide, inspired me do a guide for the spell list myself. Do agree that Amneisiac is an awesome archetype.

I know right, I loved it mostly because I enjoy being able to switch spells around and always have the right one for each situation.

In a way, it felt like playing a Cleric or Wizard, leaving spell slots open for when I need something specific. :D

Anyway, it's nice that you're making a guide to the spells, I did not have time for that myself but I'd be happy to see what you come up with!

You've marked Intuitive Spell as orange. Shouldn't it be red?

Why on earth would you spend a full round action to remove the -10 Concentration penalty, when you can just spend a move action and a standard action to remove the penalty without having to increase the spell slot? This feat actually makes you WORSE at what you could already do if you use it.
