This is a first impression post and my opinion might change, but for now I don't think the precog feels like a precog. It's built more like a time mage, which might sound like a precog, but for me it is not a precog.
Mechanically I think it might be hard to bring the old precog back without breaking the 4 degrees of success, but the feeling of the new precog could be reworked with some more spice. I know Paizo can do it because analyst feels kinda like a precog.
The new precog mechanics are cool, but I would call it a different name and create a new precog. Or maybe break the new precog into different aspects of the old precog and analyst would be one of them.
These are just random thoughts and I'll think more about it these next months and probably play the new precog and the analyst to give better feedback through the survey.
