This may stem from a misunderstanding about how the Twin trait works or simply how it interacts with the modular nature of Solar Weapons. To benefit from the Twin trait, would each weapon need to be given the exact same traits and damage type to count as a weapon of the same type? Or is the fact that they are both the "Solar Weapon" type enough to grant the bonus? Or can each weapon be constructed with only the Twin trait as a shared trait? I ask because it seems... cheesy? But theoretically a cool bonus for Solarians.

Yeah I had the same question. You could theoretically have one of the twin weapons be twin+agile and have the other weapon be whatever traits you want, which seems strong... But the strict reading would lock both weapons into being twin/agile so that they're actually identical, which would be keeping with the usual design of twin weapons but be a bit unfortunate.

I've fully been running it as only one weapon needing twin. I like the idea of having one weapon with twin + agile, paired as a backup weapon with your main weapon that's grapple+trip or reach. Or you could have one pair of hands with a two-handed d10 solar weapon, and another pair that combines a shield with a twin weapon.
