I know there are several threads on these maps. Hi-res, yada yada yada, but like what are they meant for? You can't use them in VTT or adjust them in Gimp or photoshop. I mean what is logic in it? They had to of had a reason for being designed I simply don't understand what that is.

Their only use is to be used for a in person table were you use a TV set into the table as a battle map.

I find them convenient for extracting out the images and often getting better maps than the adventure versions while also having all the options available there. It's definitely convenient to not have to try and photoshop out spoilers that are on the map (though once or twice they have been in the interactive maps anyway) :)

I also use a large monitor table for my in-person groups, but editing out all of the map tags makes game preparation VERY cumbersome and not worth the time. Owlbear, which is the VTT I use to display my world doesn't like PDFs (nor do any of the other VTTs I'm aware of).

The interactive maps provided, as many have stated, are borderline useless for those of us trying to use them in this way. My feedback to Paizo would be to forego the wasted effort of including these PDFs with the map tag and just give us a JPG (without the map tags, but with grids) so that we can use them.

It's 2025, and many GMs are now running games this way. Please help us save some time on the maps so we can focus on the adventures!
