facet deflection trick

In Interstellar Species pg. 25 under the Mechanic trick Projected Shield description it mentions the facet deflection trick, ive searched the books, websites and forums and cannot find any listing of this trick, did i miss it somewhere or was this a trick that never made it to publishing and was missed in the final revision?

Maybe it's a typo for Electromagnetic Deflection.

That's based on a different creature, so seems more likely that it's a stray reference to cut material. But since it's just mentioned as a reference (rather than, say, a prereq), then yeah, electomagnetic deflection is the easy fix.
