Loretta Lynn, ever a ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter,’ dies at 90

She was quite an amazing person, a real American icon.
Long ago, back in the mid 1980s, I worked for a couple of radio stations owned by the same company, an AM rock/pop station and an FM country station. Every so often we'd get a letter from a woman in Bradford, Arkansas, and even though I can't recall the subjects of the letters, she ALWAYS signed them with "Do something for Loretta every day!" I had friends from that little town who knew her as The Snake Lady, because her house was filled with terrarium tanks full of snakes. Venomous, non-venomous, didn't matter. She loved snakes. And Loretta Lynn. According to my friends, her house was filled with photos of Loretta.
