Hey all! For the next AP I'm going to run I'd like to try another shot at AoW, this time in Pathfinder/Golarion. I'm up to Part 4, "Hall of Harsh Reflections" and had a few questions for folks that had converted it to Pathfinder and/or ran it in Golarion.
1. Did you keep the drow mercs or change them to something else? Drow are very rare on Golarion so I was curious.
2. Has anyone done a PF conversion of the octopin or did you just use the 3.5 version?
3. (the big one) How did you handle Zyrxog as the end boss? Obviously the mindflayer is a WotC thing, so did you swap him out? Make him a unique creature? Did anyone rebuild him for PF or did you just use the 3.5 version and wing it?

The nice thing about Pathfinder 1E and D&D 3.5 is that they are VERY compatible.
How you change the encounters in Age of Worms depends on how much internal consistency you want in your campaign with the published Paizo source material. You can run it, as is, and it may not matter since the Adventure Path runs all the way up to level 20. The PCs will most likely retire at the end of the campaign, so if some not-officially-Paizo monsters show up from time to time, what harm does it actually cause?
When I ran it years ago, (pre-Pathfinder), I changed Zyrxog to a Psion, instead of a sorcerer, since the rules existed and it made more sense. I also ran the adventure path in Kingdoms of Kalamar instead of Greyhawk.
Do whatever feels right. Make the Drow Duergar instead. Make Zyrxog an Aboleth, or a Lich or a Synthesist Summoner. On the off-chance one or more of your players has read the Adventure Path, any changes you decide to make will keep them on their toes.

Fantastic! All very good advice, thank you very much! And I absolutely agree. The ease of swapping from 3.5 to PF1 is great.
We play all of our group's APs and adventures in one common Golarion/timeline, so internal consistency is somewhat important. Thus I was hesitant to just drop mindflayers into the world but your idea to swap him out for an aboleth is great. That will work just fine.
