Mystic Spell Bond and Melophile spells.

Rules Questions

One of the level 9 epiphanies for the Mystic is Spell Bond: When you cast a harmless spell with a range of touch, you can target any ally within 120 feet and linked by your telepathic bond class feature as if you were touching that ally. You must have the telepathic bond class feature to choose this epiphany.

That last sentence confuses me since the perma-telepathic bond isn't earned until level 11.

So shouldn't this epiphany be available at level 12? Or am I missing something?

Also the 5th level connection spell for the Melophile is listed as Synaptic Pulse...which is a 3rd level spell...Should it be Greater Synaptic Pulse?

And yes, I already checked the COM Errata and FAQ for both of these.

While the Spell Bond requirement is a bit annoying, it's not broken, since "You must be at least 9th level" to choose it. So you can grab it at Level 12 just fine.

Side note: I could also see some GMs allowing Spell Bond to work with the Telepathic Link supernatural ability of a Shotalashu Companion, since "your link functions as telepathic bond with a permanent duration", but it still wouldn't qualify as a prerequisite for selecting the Epiphany.

I imagine the Connection Spell should be the Greater version. Possibly the author got the rules for downcasting Variable-Level Spells confused. If this is for Society, just bring it up with your GM and ask how they would rule on it. I doubt many GMs would have a problem allowing the Greater version (I wouldn't).
